My team somehow still says that I have enough healing to rush in, and they are adamant that is true even when I tell them it’s season 9 I can’t. And then when I do what they want they tell me to stop holding W. PICK ONE. And then it’s “I haven’t seen such a bad tank in a while” when im absorbing all their resources so the rest can make plays.

me too (nowadays) but i have stopped playing competetive tank entirely. its just to many hard counters across every role. im not good enough to keep 5 characters cd abilities in my mind constantly and with every role having a character with an abilitie that is potentially an insta kill its just not fun anymore. to bad was the most fun char in the game (especially dps doom but thats another can of worms)

For me, every game the enemy has a one-trick doom main. I'm kind of tired of being forced into playing a niche set of heroes I don't normally play just to attempt to play the game without constantly getting CC'd by the doom. I still believe Doom should have never been made into a tank.

There wasnt a fire citron though, none of his variants even had a spray weapon, they did have the dash ability in ball form though just like wrecking ball in the clip

When I play doomfist my warmup is the same
Third point Dorado has that window from defender spawn over the big health kit, you can make a stair case or elevator there to help defense reset and gives attack and new flank

I feel like ram and queen should be switched because jq has no range pressure beyond knife. She needs to be close for her shotgun and carnage to really work while ram can brawl with his nemesis and poke in his omnic and just cycle. Basically how can a midrange tank have less midrange power than a brawl tank?

Lmao to the person talking about shitty teammates causing you to rank down this season in particular cause of the whole "expected" vs "reversal", I'm pretty sure comp has worked like this for a decent while, we just have visibility on it now.

It's also super hard to balance a game that just has such a wide range of skills. Some characters are just going to be a lot better at low rank and some at high rank. This happens in other games too, like they're always nerfing characters in League that seem weak already but it's because they're dominating pro play.

Tank really was so fun back in the day. But as we transitioned to how OW is now it really isn't the role for people who just want to have fun. Thus it is only natural for a tank main to switch to the dark side… a support main. This is unfortunately my life now… rip I miss it, I really do.

Doomfist one tricks aint special, that's just the overall feel for most tanks

I think to fix tank they need to lean into tanks being more cc and setups for their damagers. Tanks should be the main class that gets cc, this will incentivize more team plays. They should not be able to do a lot of damage at all but to compensate they take less damage. Maybe get rid of armor for tanks and just have them have a 15-25% flat damage reduction. This will allow tanks to still 1v1 based on sustain but they have to work more like a game manager.
I understand this doesn’t really work for tanks like Doom or Junker Queen but they could be labeled between offensive tanks and defensive tanks and get a different buff like faster movement speed and/or smaller hit boxes

I had a game yesterday where we were being held in spawn because my tank had no idea what they were doing and I ended up losing 39% because of "Reversal"... My brother in Christ I couldn't leave spawn
Unpopular opinion: I like the cycle of "nerf buff rework". It keeps the game feeling fresh and different all the time. It is the only game I still play, and I usually get tired of games really quick

I totally disagree, I think Junkerqueen is totally a brawl tank. All the other ones (Orisa Sigma Zarya Hog) are mid-range yeah, but JkQueen absolutely wants to close up the distance to deal consequent damage. Yes she plays at range sometimes but not like Roadhog at all. Hog prefers distance to isolate targets using hook. Junkerqueen plays around corners to gain time in order to be able to close up distance and deal critical damage
Doomfist mains when their character has a counter, just like every other tank.
Its more that there are so many counters and that all of them require 0 effort or skill to deploy

Personally I feel like it's more to do with how much doom bullys squishys so thus they all just get mad and go counter you more then most tanks that's not going to bully the squishys enough for them to counter you

And well what I’m trying to say is, even though at 4:40-4:56 even tho the only ones the only tanks who get to feel that way are gm/top 500/ champion tanks. Like everyone else you can out mechanic if you’re good. (I accept I ain’t there yet also)

Ok I really think the Roadhog rework made it worse for everyone else because I play and have a fun time until they pick Roadhog. It doesn’t matter where I am, how I play, a Roadhog mindlessly spamming, hooking, and whatever is just bad. Nobody ever pays attention to him either so by the time something happens, he’s fine. Get rid of his hook or nerf his healing and I’m fine, but rn it sucks.

7:00 if they wanted to make every hero just as viable as the others they'd have to have a massive nerf patch to bring every character down to Reinhardt's level lol no one, not even Rein mains like myself want that.
Buffing weak characters is typically better than nerfing everyone to be the same as the weak characters, up until you get power creep.
@@cagxplays9602 I'd say we've had tremendous power creep for a very long time. I've played since 2018 and as early as 2019-2020 I was seeing the power creep get out of hand. I think they should have nerfed, health, healing, and damage across the board. They didn't though.

if you cant balance the game, dont call it a competitive game
this may be a hot take but overwatch can never (and should never) be actually balanced. Its not a symetrical pvp experience. its not chess, its not tic tack tow, its not advanced wars. You can only perfectly balance pure stratagy games that have no difference between the tools any player has at ANY moment.
Overwatch isn't that. So they balance around the only thing you can balance around in a game like this, player experience and enjoyment. People who actually expect balance from games like this (i mean actual factual balance) doesn't even understand what begins to go into balancing a game and what must be considered. Really i don't think they want balance anyway, they just want to win more lol. Blizz actually understands this and they've made clear they do.
Edit to add the tik tok about balance just misunderstood everything. When blizz says viable they just mean playable, they didn't say just as viable in anything I saw... just viable. This guy read the update, made up some things based on misunderstanding then started punching at the ghosts he made up on tik tok... lol
