What does "called by his name" mean? Does it mean anyone called Jesus? Is there another Name that we know Him by, and there are many, that we would commonly use? Could it be a Name that is clearly identified with Him other than anyone else? Is it a Name that is exclusively attached to who He is and why He came to Earth? Could the Name be more of a title, like Christ which in Hebrew is Messiah? Could it be a Name first used by unbelievers to mock the followers of Jesus, who were so different from these unbelievers in their attitudes, actions, and ambitions? So different that they were a stark contrast to them? How about those who know these self-identified followers well, would they affirm what the unbelievers said? “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
