Jade had a really rough night. She also had a bad night at vault finals at the Olympics and came back and won the floor final. Hopefully Sunday will be a better night for her.
Aww the president of the Jade fan club outside her dorm, with her go fund me. THIS aint the olympics IT AINT ABOUT 1 EVENT. Try again. You thinking she gonna come back and win this girl? Now back to practicing her robotic disconnected floor routine for your school talent show.
Jade has been one of the USA's most consistent gymnasts over the last two quads. I think she's going to come back determined to show everyone that she's still one of the best. I'm hoping this was a "get it out of her system" kind of day.
Sometimes I wonder how much different brands and pieces of equipment have an effect on a performance. It's interesting especially on balance beam to see when a whole group of athletes struggle because that makes me curious if there's an extra give or wobble to an apparatus they have a hard time adjusting to.
Different brands have an effect but usually you see that problem in international competitions since gymnasts are used to the brands in their own country. It’s the reason why gymnasts from the host country also usually score better than they do in other countries.
Theoretically that’s what podium training is for, but there isn’t a whole lot of standardization between equipment. A lot of gymnasts (incl Jade I think) train on AAI but compete on Speith and other gymnasts have said there’s a difference in texture and bounce.

Totally agree. I didn't expect her to fall on such a simple skill while performing the more complex skills with such ease. Go Jade!

I feel for Jade. She just had a bad day, but I believe she will recover well.
I hope next day jade can hit every event. Go jade

Or maybe they're just inconsistent? Or maybe it's balance beam, the hardest piece of apparatus in WAG?
