Hi! THANK YOU! You taught me how to qualify my RF elements in the first 3 minutes! Great!
Hi Sarah. What a great bit of software. Got it running with my Pluto+ over LAN. Had to connect with USB first to get connection. then go to settings and I could then change IP address (lower case) then disconnect USB. Bingo. Works a treat. Thanks for heads up. Take care. :-)
When I first read this I thought you were talking about just running the Pluto itself over the LAN
It's good to hear that it also works with the Pluto Plus
@@SignalsEverywhere Hi Sarah. I know a lot of people are apposed to the rising number of "clones" on the market. But I have 3 Adalm Pluto's (They're great .. don't get me wrong)
But the pluto + is everything a pluto should be !!. ... A tad more expensive but much more accurate clock (plus the ability to gps lock) the LAN is a big bonus and not forgetting the SD card slot. I still use the Adalm Pluto's with mods. But again many thanks for bringing the software to my attention. Very very useful. Please keep up your you tube video's ... Awesome content. thanks for reply. Please take care. :-)
The Pluto SDR Plus is something that I definitely do want to take a look at, and I'm sure I will at some point.
I do try to avoid clones and that's generally for the sake of trying to send support to the original developers.
That being said, yes it sounds like this is basically the upgrade that takes it from an experimental learning tool into a device that you can use for damn near anything.
When I have the extra cash on hand or if I can have somebody provide one to sponsor on a video at some point then I will absolutely be covering it
i do use Satsagen since day one, i just love it. i use it most for really fast antenna alignments. With pluto sdr i can see a big chunk of spectrum and transponders almost in real time (depending on span Mhz)
Thank you so much, Angel!
@@albertoferraris scaling the application window resets waterfall and all alignment settings and it would be great if satgen can just keep those. I'm so scared to touch the window , it just destroys all waterfall settings..
@@AngelSevov I'm working to fix that behavior for the next release.
Thank you for your feedback!
Nice! Thanks for the video! Have you ever used the wide band noise source on the Ham-It-Up upconverter? This works well with the RTL-SDRv3 dongle to check the FM and AM Broadcast band filters response. I'm sure it would work better with a calibrated SA! Thanks again.
I do have a noise source but I have not tested it with the ham it up, I might have to take a poke at it I'm sure I still have my old model
Another excellent video!
I've had my PlutoSDR for couple years, seen this software but never installed it.
If it ran on a Raspberry Pi you could make nice piece of stand alone test kit.
I've been working on designing a universal VHF to Microwave transceiver for ham use using mine, add some decent filtering and a power Amp.
Got a ways to go though...
There is a way to run it under Mono but I'm guessing the Pluto isn't going to handle emulation well. A raspberry pi, maybe?
There is some linux tools available but this has been the most solid I've found so far for this kind of work. I will eventually cover something under linux.
@@SignalsEverywhere
Thanks for the input. I have not had much success running my PlutoSDR on my Raspberry Pi 4 (4gig) under Raspian or Ubuntu. Under Ubuntu on my pc either.
Works OK on my PC using Windows 10/11 though. You're right, running it in a container or with Wine would probably be slow if not unusable.
Your Videos are really helpful for hobbyist. Thank You😀
Thanks for watching ☺
Wow, super impressive, and your video was informative as always!
Thanks Chris, it was a really cool piece of software that I'm glad I came across it was definitely worth showcasing. :)
What is your favorite SDR? Do you have a spectrum analyzer or do you use SDR as well?
Great video Sarah! I was looking for this, I am planning to buy an SDR and use it as a low cost spectrum analyzer for my studies of Bluetooth, Wifi and LoRa communication certification process. I really don't know the accuracy of this SDR compared to a real spectrum analyzer for this purpose, could you go a step further and compare it? I think a lot of novice RF engineers would appreciate that, thanks.
thank you so much for your videos.
Thank you for watching!
Hi Sarah. Could you please make a video on CubicSDR for complete beginners? It looks like it’s the only software working properly on every platform, and you are the best explaining these subjects. Thanks in advance.
I have an old video that may give you the basics ruclips.net/video/fuwW5ZNK_0Y/видео.html However, I should probably see about doing an updated video.
@@SignalsEverywhere most appreciated
Thank you so much, SignalsEverywhere!
You're welcome!
Any thoughts on the LimeSDR.. it seems to be at a similar price-point as the PlutoSDR. On paper the LimeSDR seems to have better specs, but not sure about the software support.. for example, Matlab seems to fully support only the PlutoSDR.
Or thoughts on the TinySA (Spectrum Analyzer), or the nanovna?
Lime SDR support doesn't seem to be that great in many places, the nano VNA I've heard very good things about but have not had a chance to play with myself
Great video, Thank You 👍
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you!
Okay.. I guess the Pluto isn't $99 anymore... wow, Still though 10/10 I love that thing!
Likely 250-300 at least in UK, I even found cheaper the pluto plus
So basically you can use your SDR, even maybe cheap RTL SDR, like a slow osciloscope with FFT?
As a spectrum analyzer yes, an oscilloscope measures voltage which this will not do
@@SignalsEverywhere Wow, that's nice stuff. I saw your Cable TV video, and this inspired me to attach ADSL line to an RTL SDR in the future
That's great . I have a requirement . I am using adrv9361-z7035 ( same chip as in PlutoSDR) . I want to do some modification in spectrum anayzer plugin provided by ADI and some other queries ? . is it possible that you help me as a consultant ?
I didn't have any hand in development, I just like making tutorials :)
Hi, the link to your Discord server is invalid...
What was that RF Bridge ?
Awesome 😎 as always 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Thank you
Oh, what RF Bridge are you using? Link?
Amazon has some cheap ones amzn.to/3HLK8eH but mine was bought on eBay (It's also the same design, just in a metal housing) www.ebay.com/itm/332640254339?hash=item4d72e77983:g:1mAAAOSwrptbKT2w
Pretty cool but ehhh, only works on Windows, not open-source... pass. I'm going to have to see what else it out there or write my own.
Anyone know if it will work with Airspy R2 ?
This application is Pluto only unfortunately
Is this software going to work with the Pluto Plus?
I have not been able to test a Pluto Plus yet so I cannot say for sure at this time.
Another viewer commented, it will work with the Pluto Plus but you need to set up the device via USB and then if you decide to switch to network you can do so but you must initialize on USB first
Discord link is broke?
Just tested it, should work. signalseverywhere.com/discord
@@SignalsEverywhere weird it works from my phone, but not my desktop. Damn DNS lol
it used to be 99$!!!
I know right!? The original thumbnail was going to be the "$99 Spectrum Analyzer" but as I went to post I noticed the price had SKYROCKETED! I think this is due to the Global Chip Shortage causing demand of FPGA based devices to go up :/
Me hubiera gustado entender una sola palabra. Porque hablan idiomas retorcidos en vez de usar el español ?
Lamento haber crecido con el idioma que conozco, al igual que tú.
