  • I am back to watch SEVENTEEN's next song, HIT! High-impact, action-packed, and hyper-energetic piece from this group so far. In this video, I talk about the contrasts in SEVENTEEN's performances.
Also, sorry if the video quality might seem laggy or weird. I was accidentally on different settings.
Let me know what you want me to watch! Or better yet, suggest another type of content I should make that could help you learn more about dance! Whether you're an aspiring dancer, training to be a K-Pop idol, or just want to appreciate the art of dance-
I want to share my knowledge with YOU.
    Hope ya'll enjoy this video!
    Quick about me:
My real name is Tad, but DonKawaii/Don was simply an IGN name I created playing FF14 online, so I kinda just rolled with it. Lol. You can call me either one. I am also a teacher, and I teach people dance. And normally, I teach my students dance through sharing my own choreography, giving people drills or exercises to build foundation and technique. and I've been dancing for 15 years mainly growing up through Hip Hop dance culture, but have also taken inspiration from other dance artforms such as ballet, jazz, and tap. And how I got into K-Pop was because the main three groups, Wonder Girls, Big Bang, and SNSD. That followed with other things hallyu like korean dramas, variety shows, and the rest is history.
    FAQs:
Why "Dance Teacher" even though you say "Dance Mentor"?
I actually consider myself both. I am not just someone who teaches dance, but I resonate more as a mentor who is there to help, train, or advise dancers to take steps into the right direction. "Dance Teacher" is a title that just makes it easier for newer people to understand what I do.
Do you actually know or speak Korean?
Baby levels. I've studied Korean 한국어 for 1 year when I was in community college. I can read and write in Korean, but I still have trouble speaking and formulating sentences.
Have you ever worked for any K-Pop artists in terms of creating choreography, backup dancers, etc.?
Yes, but not directly or in-person. I have partaken in K-Pop choreography submission projects/demos under the direction of dancers such as Pat Cruz (Kinjaz, The Company), Larkin Poynton (Project Home), and Alo Galedo (Brotherhood, The Company).

Woozi is supposed to be a part of the performance unit because he is really good with dancing but because he is also the composer and producer of their songs, he became the Vocal Unit leader. Many dancers also praised him for being a good dancer.
Thank you for pointing that out 😭💖💖

@@squactus In the dance practice the tall guy in the white shirt (tooked in on the front, with the Mona Lisa picture on the back) and the dark blue jeans. He's center for the first part of the first chorus and center again for the last part of the song.

Not sure if you noticed but Seungkwan actually left & came back during the choreography. He had injured his ankle & had surgery (I think it was around this time frame) thus was unable to dance the full choreography. Another note, this choreography was heavily influenced by Hoshi & he made the second half of the chorus part. The part where they all break out with the snake walk & go "SAAA!".

Hit is definitely their most tiring choreo and you can see in fancams how exhausted they got performing it multiple times in a row for music shows.
It makes for a really good hype performance though, made even better by the crazy fanchant lol. Check it out if you can, it's probably also one of the most difficult, most tiring fanchants ever, Seventeen really said "if we have to tire ourselves out performing this then we'll also make our fans tired with the fanchant" 😂

yeaasss we often see jeonghan sleep or rest in non-performance contents, so it's awesome to see how much endurance and stamina he has.

It's one of my favorite pieces. it always fills me with energy. Thanks for bringing another new reaction from your point of view, I'm so glad to hear that you are well and that we still have a lot to see from SVT.
The Hit presentation on Ellen's show is gorgeous, if you have time I recommend watching it.
Also, thanks for appreciating Jeonghan, he really plays super hard in this choreo. and Woozi, he really gives his all. it's a pleasure to watch him, to all of them.

    welcome back! ✨
as everyone recommends, yes the way the ellen performance was shot really showcases the choreo! it slaps (or should i say hits HAHA)
during hit era, dokyeom was actually in a musical, so he was in-between schedules, working around seventeen scheds and his musical rehearsals, trainings and such. i just find it so admiring how packed and busy his schedule was but he still did amazing during hit, all throughout with all the other members! he has fewer lines/screentime for hit but honestly we're not complaining, our boy needed rest 😔 (also seungkwan with his injury:( but i saw someone else comment about it already! )
and as usual, everyone did so well, seventeen works as one, as a team, that you hardly notice these things. they're all amazing!! KINGS
edit: also isn't this just THE ultimate gym/workout song to add to ur playlist HAHA

Enjoyed your reaction! I loved HIT -- couldn't take my eyes off of Vernon and Jun when I first watched the dance practice. In case you're interested, Woozi and zdaeganz (a choreographer/dancer seventeen closely work with) posted two short dance choreos earlier this year! They're having fun in them + you can also hear Hoshi hyping them up in the background 😂 Woozi posted the leave the door open choreo on twt and it got liked by silksonic!
    choreo by woozi: ruclips.net/video/DazrznXbCzM/видео.html
leave the door open choreo by zdaeganz: ruclips.net/video/wy5F4_SAvjk/видео.html (fun fact: woozi is a very very big fan of bruno mars)

Love the video. Seeing as you're nearing the end of the Seventeen list, it makes me sad. but what would make me happy is if you checked out Verivery, a 4th gen group that is also known for their synchronization. Here's a link to the video. When I saw it I was like DonKawaii needs to watch this so here you go . ruclips.net/video/Qz40Bgndd3k/видео.html
