- Playalong tunes: country dance and session tunes played at a steady speed for playing along with, in D or G, or with both keys within the tune. When the instrument used is a melodeon, the keyboard is a standard layout in D/G with standard accidentals at the chin end of the keyboard.
Videos in this Playalong series may be played on a melodeon, fiddle, tenor banjo (tuned GDAE) or whistle. I try (but often fail) to play the tunes straight the first time, before slipping into my usual variations and decorations.
You may find it useful to slow the speed of the video to find out more about how I play this tune; RUclips has this facility in the settings, which can usually be found somewhere in the right of the screen. It is also possible to loop videos so you don't have to keep pressing the start button.
This wonderful polka was collected from Osbourne Readhead of Burton Stather Plough Jags by Bob Pacey, about five decades ago.
