Physics teacher here. This is an interesting experiment as we can find the length of the pipeline he's playing into (or least one section, which most likely has a closed end somewhere) Using a bpm counter, I found that the song he plays has a tempo of 104bpm. Counting the measures, we find that it takes 2bpm before the sound he plays is returned to him. Some quick math finds that the actual time therefore is 60(seconds in a minute) / 104 (bpm) * 2 (amount of bpm for return) = about 1.15 seconds for the sound to travel from the sax to the end of the tube and back to him. Using the speed of sound we can calculate the total distance the sound has to travel. Sound on earth travels at around 343 meters per second. That times 1.15 seconds gets us to 395.77 meters. As that is the distance for the sound to travel and back, half of it would be the length of the section of the tube. 395.77 / 2 = 197.89 meters deep in ur mom lmao

Whenever I start loosing hope in humanity, and thinking all people are awful, something like this comes along and I smile and think to myself, it’s okay. It’s all okay.
Very well said I couldn't have said it better this actually made me smile today I'm a senior and I've been locked in so long I can't remember what the outside looks like here's to all stay safe and have a nice Christmas
I measured roughly 1.5s for the sound to bounce back. The speed of sound in "normal" air is 340m/s. The total distance [d] traveled by the sound is d = v * t Inserting the values gives us: d = 340m/s * 1.5s = 510m Since the sound travels down the tube and back to the microphone it cleared the tube twice. So the length [l] of the tube is actually half that resulting in l = 1/2 d = 1/2 * v * t Again, inserting all the values: l = 1/2 * 340m/s * 1.5s = 255m Giving myself a timing accuracy of ±0.25s, which isn't all that great and a worst case scenario to be honest l(max) = 1/2 * 340m/s * 1.75s = 297.5m l(min) = 1/2 * 340m/s * 1.25s = 212.5m The pipe in this video is anywhere between 212.5m to 297.5m long I am not sure who wants to know but I wanted to do the math this time. If I did anything wrong tell me. I was very tired when I did this!
Too short for 1.5s! I only have a metronome at hand :P , and I get around 51.5 bpm for the song's rhythm (dictated by the echo), so the total travel time is 1.165 s (tested to be possibly true by an approximated use of a simple chronometer), half for time to obstacle is 582.5 ms, times the 343 m/s speed of sound in air it gives me 199.8 m (Construction in 200m segments?)
what the- some guy got stuck in the pipe . . . is he panicking??? nahhhh. he chillin, playing sax, eating a nice steak dinner and making YOU wish you were in there. absolute legend. lol
whodatdaniel89 pipeliner here, even on short pipes where you can see through to the ground (not being blocked completely empty) you still get an echo. That echo gets stronger the longer the pipe. Also seeing as how the pipe is on top of “pallets” usually they’re set up like that but there’s space between each section unless it’s already been welded and it’s just waiting to be lowered in and welded onto the main pipe.
Its one of those pan-dimensional pipes that both exists and doesnt at the same time. Makes traveling with it quite easy. Just passes right through everything and doesnt weigh anything.

I screamed into the void, and it answered with smooth jazz.
Lmao. What can I say, it happens. Jazz is like that sometimes. It just happens. That's what makes it Jazz.
Daddy-o...
This is ominous and beautiful in a good way
Lucky bastard
I just got nothing
Nice
I measured roughly 1.5s for the sound to bounce back.
The speed of sound in "normal" air is 340m/s.
The total distance [d] traveled by the sound is d = v * t
Inserting the values gives us: d = 340m/s * 1.5s = 510m
Since the sound travels down the tube and back to the microphone it cleared the tube twice.
So the length [l] of the tube is actually half that resulting in l = 1/2 d = 1/2 * v * t
Again, inserting all the values:
l = 1/2 * 340m/s * 1.5s = 255m
Giving myself a timing accuracy of ±0.25s, which isn't all that great and a worst case scenario to be honest
l(max) = 1/2 * 340m/s * 1.75s = 297.5m
l(min) = 1/2 * 340m/s * 1.25s = 212.5m
The pipe in this video is anywhere between 212.5m to 297.5m long
I am not sure who wants to know but I wanted to do the math this time. If I did anything wrong tell me. I was very tired when I did this!

uhm can i be in the screenshot
i didn't know i needed that, thanks
Too short for 1.5s! I only have a metronome at hand :P , and I get around 51.5 bpm for the song's rhythm (dictated by the echo), so the total travel time is 1.165 s (tested to be possibly true by an approximated use of a simple chronometer), half for time to obstacle is 582.5 ms, times the 343 m/s speed of sound in air it gives me 199.8 m (Construction in 200m segments?)
That is what want to know, Thank you!
Sax is the best horn instrument for sure. What a good session
Thanks for the compliment 🎷🎶
This is what RUclips was invented for.
Hello to the people getting this vid recommended to them 2 years later
Its odd that you're 100% correct.
I dont understand why that's so depressing, but it makes me wonder what could have been.
Sooo True
Maybe we are in a Renaissance of RUclips glory

what the- some guy got stuck in the pipe . . . is he panicking??? nahhhh. he chillin, playing sax, eating a nice steak dinner and making YOU wish you were in there. absolute legend. lol
Lol there is something on the other end reflecting the sound. So no one else hears it lol
@@whodatdaniel89 Shh most of us know, just let us enjoy ourselves
whodatdaniel89 pipeliner here, even on short pipes where you can see through to the ground (not being blocked completely empty) you still get an echo. That echo gets stronger the longer the pipe. Also seeing as how the pipe is on top of “pallets” usually they’re set up like that but there’s space between each section unless it’s already been welded and it’s just waiting to be lowered in and welded onto the main pipe.
Best song ive heard in 4 years.
Thank you for the compliment!

wow 4 years later and the creator still comments
Imagine the surprise of suddenly hearing another solo from the other end.
Why did the project delayed?
City planning: one crazy guy wouldn’t let us work

It’s a great idea, but how inconvenient to have to carry that pipe around with you on the back of a bike.
still easier than bringing a leslie
Its one of those pan-dimensional pipes that both exists and doesnt at the same time. Makes traveling with it quite easy. Just passes right through everything and doesnt weigh anything.
