The only way he’ll get Alex is by car crashing into him and clinch him but Alex showed improved takedown defense against jiri 2 he was using his body jab to stop the forward pressure and he didn’t force a standing guillotine which got him taken down.

A special mention to the crisp and slick boxing from alex i mean his bead movement was the best seen recently in ufc. It almost felt like he was back to glory days .

Totally agree with Bisping's point about not being awarded a point for defending a takedown. Have thought this for a while. If they changed the way fights are scored to awarding defending a takedown then I think we'd see less takedown attempts and more exciting fights
Nick, Machachev may have been annointed p4p after volkanovski headkick but it was more the way he dismantled Charles Oliveira, a guy who was running through everyone, that put him in the conversation to begin with.

Islam’s striking is good enough to put strike Dustin and a good enough grappler to sub Charles while Alex is having a hard out against number 8 in only striking
I don't get Bisping perspective of MMA. There's not a convention of forms that make a unique martial approach im this sport, MMA it's a open platform of competition. Lhw is full of fighters built around Jon Jones frame, martial abilities and dominance. This explains why they are all tall, very physical and strikers with some defensive ground game.
Islam is on a 14 fight win streak with better names than both Alex and Jones. Islam is the p4p best.
Islam did beat 3 ex champions back to back. Olivera, Volk and Dustin all 3 held the belts at some point. With far more incredible wins over most of the ex champions that Alex P has beaten. Such as Sean S, or Jamal etc.

Love this show but momentum isn’t a thing, w pena and Pennington, when rounds are scored individually. They’re scored exactly that, individually. Not by momentum from one to the next. Creates gaps for sure and not calling bollocks on anyone here but the rounds are scored each of their own, not as momentum builds at the end of one and leads into another. That’s unfair to the participants.

...no it isn't. This "win" for Bautista will send him back to the prelims, if not the early prelims. He has put himself in a difficult situation with the promotion. He was given an opportunity to appear in the featured bout of 307 against a legend and spent half the time stalling out the action against the fence.
As Chael Sonnen often says, rankings are far less relevant than card placement, and with this dodgy win, Bautista has now put himself much further down on the card. Not a win.
