They seem among most smart good looking wealthy rich culture good people Chinese than rest other Chinese. You are right that the majority are Chow Chou and next is Cantonese with a good number from Hainan. Practically all of them are a few generations Chinese, having Thai names and some intermarrying the local Thais. The Thai Chinese assimilate very well with the Thais. Malaysia has more Hokkiens and Cantonese than the Teochew. Indonesia has more Hakka while the Philippines and Myanmar have more Hokkiens. In Singapore, approximately 75% of its population are of Chinese origin, with the Teochew comprising about 22% and the majority being the Hokkiens of 40%. I have travelled rather extensively, and noticed that there are Chinese practically all over the world. The overseas Chinese is estimated at around 16 - 18 million.

You’ve forget lot Chinese in Vietnam, probably it had more Chinese people than all south East Asians, we’ve been so many generations become all Vietnamese now like hundreds generations. In fact most Vietnamese are Chinese immigrants like all white Americans are Europeans there many generations become Americans natives too. Later oversea Chinese about 130 years especially during ww 2 to Vietnam like my parents and adopt parents whom had very rich relatives in Thailand. Now I know why I’m fascinated these oversea Chinese. My foster daddy was very handsome sexy Chinaman, beautiful wife and daughter too like movie stars. Very smart rich traditional culture too. My foster dad treated me very well. He begged my parents to let him adopt me. Now I wonder why but all them dead to find out now especially I have eight brothers why he wanted me. Look at my pictures I was boy I did look very handsome and cute and smart and good person and like I was born in prestige family. In fact all my uncles and aunts are among richest families and good people too. Their last nam Gu-, I think mean gu- ke-, precious customer mean that Gu-. Cantonese concentrates in Chinatown in Ho Chi Minh city but Teo Chew spreading all over south Viet Nam, most businesses are oversea Chinese run, same with Vietnamese towns in America too, most businesses are open by oversea Chinese from Vietnam too but hated by oversea Vietnamese due propaganda news from America.

Yes, I visited Khuntien (Pontianak, Kalimantan, Indonesia) several times and there were many Tio Ciu Nang. I enjoy the food and the friendly people there, not to mention the beautiful Tio Ciu girls.
You still can speak Teo Chew but main important language should be one only and that is Mandarin, else nobody can understand each other in China. Just like English now global language but you don’t have know English but more advantages know English.

作为海外潮藉华人,看到祖籍家乡的"营老爺"如此隆重热鬧,心中非常兴奋感动.潮州人分佈世界各地,尤其是东南亚更是人数众多.潮汕虽不像上海,北京那样位列中国数一数二的大城市,但对於傳统、宗教的继承却不因外国文化的影响(有好多自外国打拼回家乡的潮州人)而保存原汁原味的潮州精神,也不因外来宗教的分化(如香港)而人民很團结,我作为潮州的"家巨人"觉得非常自豪.

查一下揭阳城隍庙的庙会时间。潮州在2014年举办后,就没举办过!我觉得政府当局的意志很重要,他们不想,就没办。换了一个官员就换了一个想法。没有长效的机制。
