    History! I’ve found my grandmothers, mothers, and my own era. It opens worlds for me and I better understand and/or reminded of life lived a long time ago. It’s like walking into another time. Such a mind bending time warp. Love it!

      That is how the book from 1948 and the film from 1950 ended.

      @@OTRR And that's the story, for sure. It's unfortunate that people have been dulled to the point that they fail to recognize a tragic ending that is inspirational. What should be done in real life in this situation? This only enforces the love of the wife to carry on her husband's work and keep it and the memory of him alive. This is an example of nobility and elegance. There is a lesson here.

    Clifton Webb comes off well on the radio, not the "prissy" personality he seemed on film.

      He did the movie too (Cheaper). He also did a part in an old Titanic movie. He was soo talented. I loved him when fussy, funny, serious, evil. So very talented.
