Nemophila is a Great band..Very diverse in styles !..Amazing next level musicians, and Mayu one of a kind vocals !.. They recently lost Saki (guitarist on the right), but have not missed a beat, and still have that signature Nemophila sound.. Check out their evolve version of Rise..and covers of Crazy Nights and most recently My Own Painkiller..also some past originals Raitei, Adabana, Sieze the Fate..Thanks !
Nemophila - "baby blue eyes" flower, "Rurikarakusa" in Japanese; grows in N-America and is appreciated in Japan (see "Hitachi Seaside Park"). The band was formed in 2019, originally as a "session" brought together by... Mayu - the vocalist (ex- Lipstick band); Haraguchi-san - (ex- HöLDERLINS band) bass, backing vocals, was Mayu's friend and colleague from Music College; Tamu Murata - drums, backing vocals, one the most respected session musician in Japan (countless bands), with also her own original carrier; she's also the wife of Akira Yamaoka, musician/composer, known especially for his videogames OSTs, in particular for "Silent Hill"; Saki (ex - "Mary's Blood" band for a decade, "Destrose", and others), she's a "young sacred monster" in J-metal) guitar, backing vocals, and... Hazuki (KOIAI "Dark Indigo" / Li-sa-X, Disqualia bands) - guitar, backing vocals; both, Saki and Hazuki have a lot of experience. Unfortunately, Saki left the band in march 2024, after the Budokan concert, thinking that her contribution was enough after more than 4-5 years, pursuing her - successful - solo carrier. The band continues in the 4 members form, with Mayu starting to add guitar bits while Haraguchi-san's bass, and Hazuki's guitar becomes more prominent. Nemophila, with their self-declared "Jigoku no Yurufuwa" (soft and fluffy hell) general metal-rock style, made an amazing fandom impression during the pandemic, thru RUclips clips... ...so far about 50 Western/Japanese awesomely bonkers covers, and about 40 original, freakishly insane good songs (singles, EPs - including the JPURecords' Extended Edition of "Oiran", 3 albums - "Revive", "Seize The Faith", "Evolve"; EP - "Beautiful Days"). I can’t get enough Nemophila. If you ever get a chance to see them live, I highly recommend it. It is unfortunate that all of these Japanese bands don’t get more of a following in America. Babymetal and Band-Maid are older than Nemophila and Lovebites. Hence they will have a larger fan base in the States. Even so, they too typically play to smaller crowds. Granted, Babymetal did have a solo concert at the Forum in LA years ago, but that is probably it for the US. Population density also plays a role. Let’s face it, it is difficult to pack an arena in cities with a population less than 1 million, and located hours away from the next city. Musical taste also affects the fan base. The US is very diverse in every measure of the word and Metal isn’t the most popular genre. Still, I chase all four of the bands and enjoy every minute.

Mayu, the frontwoman with the screams, is absolutely fckn tiny, but she has the energy of a supernova.
Found them a couple years ago and they are my favorite band!
