Giovanni has done an amazing job teaching georgia esp for his first year, and georgia has blossomed into an exquisite dancer. Can def see giovanni winning within the next two yrs if he gets a good partner. I think they brought the best dances finale night. but congrats to jAy, he seems soso lovelyyy
This was one of THE dances of Strictly 2015 for me!!!! So much better than the original (which itself was beautiful) but you could just see so much how Georgia had grown as a performer since the third week!!
Fantastic rumba well executed, had everything thing in and had me on the edge of my seat, didn’t want it to end...... just like their partnership/relationship ❤️
This was much better than their first attempt. Terrific dance. Might just have been my favourite of the night. They interpreted Sam Smith's track beautifully.Well done for Giovanni for refining and improving the choreography. Georgia looked stunning as well. Kudos to costume and make-up for their work in the whole series.
I must add here that Len did the right thing for effectively making a public apology to Giovanni in the final after this rumba for humiliating him publicly for the lack of rumba content in week 3.
+Scd Observer in all fairness, the week 3 rumba did lack a lot of basic content which Giovanni should have put in. Nevertheless it was an amazing performance then and now
conor mcinnes I did not object to Len's objection, but I object to Len's way of telling Giovanni off like he's just murdered a kitten or something. LOL
+conor mcinnes I don't think anyone objected to Len commenting on the lack of content - it was a fair enough comment and one he makes often - it was the way he spoke to him - publicly humiliating and belittling him on TV, talking to him like he was a naughty schoolkid and Len the everpoweful headmaster...when it was only his 3rd week on the show and he'd never been on TV before this. He spoke to him that way because he was new and that was mean. He wouldn't have spoken to Anton, or Brendan or James Jordan like that - and they answer him back and do a lot more than a simple shake of the head that Giovanni did. I think Len should have gone further in his apology tbh 'perhaps a bit aggressively' didn't really cut the mustard for me. 'I still stand by my point about lack of content, but I apologise about the way I spoke to you' would have been better.
Pixie SS Giovanni is big more magnanimous than that, Pixie, and I am sure he appreciated Len for effectively apologising (however 'little' his gesture might seem to others, especially to those felt Gio was hard done by in that situation) to him in the final, and this make me like Gio more than any of the new pros BBC employed this year for SCD...
Georgia never stops moving even when she was only 'standing', contrasting greatly to her in the beginning of the series when she just stood there like a dead weight on occasions. It's tricky for the judges to pick rumba for them, and I have to say, with the exception of some accents (like the drop) here and there that are the same, this is essentially a different routine. Packed full of content, and she nailed the rumba walk plus it has the figure eights in there as well. So pleased for her that she has come so far from the almost rumba-less week 3 rumba to THIS. 9.5 from me.
Abigail Waters I think on balance, Jay deserves the winning title, because the final is NOT purely about dance ability/talent, but also on popularity. All three finalists have both dance talents and likability, so when the public picked Jay (who's not a Chris Hollins kinda celeb), I think the right person win. I would say the same if it's Georgia or Kellie winning the title, because the public spoke, and the results is such. I can live with that...

But G &G were the overall best dancers imo - most consistent, yet improved (especially in ballroom, but in so many other aspects such as her spins). Brilliant in both ballroom and latin. Brilliant in dancing technique as well as performance. Great storytelling and emotion....whether it be romance, hotness, cuteness etc. Brilliant routines (and trickiest routines, where most of the celebs wouldn't have been able to do some of them) Most in-sync partnership. And to finish the final with the best dance (and most suitable one for a final) and get 4x10s just about summed it up. They achieved much more than a popularity contest and as Kevin said in the final, who would want to swap what they achieved for that? Jay danced well and had good technique - but he had good technique from day 1 (he is a trained dancer). I didn't see much improvement at all...a lot of his performances were up and down, hit and misses. His jive was amazing, but if hes not confident enough to repeat it in the final....nothing could have been trickier than Georgias lift in the Charleston but winners have to go out and take on the challenge not least to please the viewers.
Loved team GG and for me it was between Jay & Georgia, so would have been just as happy if these two had won, but I think Jay and Aliona were very deserving of their win! very happy strictly fan here! :-D
Rumbas are supposed to be full and of connection, and these two have so much chemistry, they almost can't ever not have chemistry! Georgia did make one mistake, but still a big improvement from that Week 3 dance. 9.5!
Ah back to the days when we had nothing to worry about. Still one of my favourite rumbas on strictly however no offence to the singers but they absolutely murdered the song
For the life of me I don't understand why they didn't do this and their fantastic Samba on tour. Two waltzy dances and the Charleston, all nice, but no wonder they didn't win any of the nights. You have to go for the most exciting dances in those massive venues.
