  • The Coolest Neighborhood in Bangkok, Thailand! In this video we will walk through the streets of Bangkok's Chinatown to see just how much has changed in the last two years since I last documented this area of the city! Chinatown is a great place to find Thai street food and of course just do some shopping through the many alleys that line the streets of Yaowarat Bangkok.

I think China would definitely be worth a visit or 5. I recently discovered Little Chinese Everywhere channel, and the young lady does a great job of exposing the fascinating country that China is! I have to admit, i had many preconceived false notions about China, which her channel has definitely 'modified'. Interesting how that works, and how it underscores how great, not only travel can be, but also the insight gained from 'vicarious' travel, via watching the various travel vloggers. Very cool that you and others are doing it!

Another amazing video Chris! Thanks for showing us around. Too bad about the plastic in your throat. Thats something that Asia need to better themselves with - ending the use of too much plastic.
Anyways, hope to see you travelling to China, HongKong and why not Australia.
When you get back to Bangkok or Koh Samui it would be great fun to watch if you would team up with Canadian youtuber Retired working for you. He lives in Thailand and is hysterical 🤣. You would make great collabs I am sure. All the best & Happy New Year 🥳

Chris, pro tip: I speak a few different languages and I’m also 50% Thai. If you want to learn any language quickly or enough to get you around anywhere: learn the verbs and numbers first. Learn the words where, when, why, and how. So that and you’ll be able to hold your with body language around town. That’ll get you on your way quick. Pro tip 2: whatever country you visit, grab the card at check in because it’ll have the address in the native language. Love your channel man and next Songkran, I’ll hit you up and take you out with my family. I have a lots of fam in BKK but we’re from Khon Kaen. That’s my favorite city

Chris, great footage of Thai "Chinatown". Totally agree its a pity parts of Asia have totally starting to disconnect with their ancestry, architectural heritage splendours, traditional foods, etc too much towards Westernised gentrification. Westerners are attracted to Asia for seeking authenticity and a difference to Western ways. If the balance is established then all is worth the flight, accomodation and voyage to a 'LONELY PLANET' of destinations to explore. You definitely are tapping into best represent what Thai land is unique for and its interesting adaptations of showcasing other Asian cultures. Keep this going as I find it most refreshing and Soi 6 is overly vlogged. Keep it real. yeah mate no worries from Australia (the land of vegemite sandwiches, speak my language, smiles, red back spiders, koalas, roos and bogans).

Hi Chris! At 04:56...the lady with the white leopard print standing next to the pear truck said to charge you 20 baht but then shortly after, told the lady in the truck she should charge you 30 baht. Then the old lady said to charge 50 baht. When the young lady charged you 20 baht, the old lady said why did you charge so little? Was that old lady a customer or a vendor of the pears?

When asking for food or just talking to the locals it's clear that they don't understand you so why not just use Google translate. For example when telling the lady for the 3 piece of pairs, it would be a lot easier for her to understand if you just use Google translate.

He uses it alot. Just watch his previous video how he uses it all the time. But sometimes it might just be so that someone isnt too focused on bringing up the phone while filming and just being spontaneous. Most Times some honest body language also makes it work. He got the pears and all was good convo between them❤️

lol. Thanks for a good video. For me China town, I was thinking more development after we open the MRT underground train that make more convenience easier to visit. In the past, we need to go there by bus, taxi, Tuk Tuk and not much tourist, not much option for hotel, hostel, tourist. This is reminding to visit as soon as possible when I travel back to Thailand. Hi Chris love the videos, I'm also learning Thai and found this online.
    Is it Khap or Khrap?
Women should add the polite word 'ka' at the end of a sentence and men should add 'khap'. Men can also use 'khrap', but in everyday speech the 'r' is usually dropped and khap is more commonly used. Speaking with a Thai man you will never hear them say khRap

It's such a shame to see what's happening to these cities in Asia, all completely losing their charm and character. Governments/corps thinking they're doing good but actually destroying the very features and reasons that make people want to travel there and experience in the first place. I watched a recent Khao San Road walking video last night and it makes me emotional, what happened, there wasn't even a wisp of any background music or the charm (and chaos) it used to carry. Shame - probably won't be going there again :/
