  • No collection is to big or small here at West TN Gold & Silver Exchange. Even in small collections like this you can find cool and interesting stuff. Just look at some of these tones Lincoln cents. Not much in the collection but still neat to look through.

    My book says, if you can not read the date the toning needs to be reduced to a level where any variations can be observed.

    • @WestTNExchange
      @WestTNExchange  Год назад

      You can clearly see all the dates in details on all of them.

      @@WestTNExchange Um I'm sorry When you said the Nickel had a partial date and it might be a 36 or a 38, I just assumed you could not read the date because you could not tell what the date was. So which is it a 36 or a 38. Somehow to me Partial does not mean Clearly.

    Hi, I was wondering how coin shops make most of their money. Is it silver?

    • @WestTNExchange
      @WestTNExchange  Год назад +1

      I can’t speak for all coin stores but for me, there is no straight forward answer. It varies on what’s popular at the time. Last month I made most profits In buying scrap gold. This past two weeks I haven’t boughten a single piece of scrap but the silver rounds are selling great. Next month maybe silver will die down and people will come in with scrap again. Or may 90% silver will sell. It’s a hard question to answer.

      @@WestTNExchange is it easy to make a profit? Or is it kind of a hard industry to take on?

    According to you, that entire collection is worth nothing other than melt value. Or did I misunderstand you?

    • @TSD4027
      @TSD4027 Год назад +2

      Definitely worth melt + something, because there is some pretty large premiums on 90% constitutional silver right now.

    • @WestTNExchange
      @WestTNExchange  Год назад +1

      As I look through collections I’m not evaluating what I’d sell for. I’m evaluating what category it will go to. When I say melt I’m basically saying the coin is not a key date or has more numismatics value. The metal is really what’s giving it its value.

    • @coinmojo
      @coinmojo Год назад

      @@WestTNExchange well I know that there’s certain coins that even though they don’t have precious metal in them can have value like the Eisenhower 1972P type 2 can be worth well over 40 bucks and doesn’t have any precious metal in it and you just blew off all the Ikes like there was nothing to them! it would be nice if you Explain that there is value outside of precious metals.
      The sacajeweah could’ve been a wounded eagle or Cheerios. Variety.
      You could sell the common Ike’s for $1.15 a piece or more at coin shows. And they are becoming quite scarce. So when you say you’ll pay face value you know you are not being completely honest.
      Just sayin.
