hello chadcat, i would like to bring the story of lucky the cat to your attention🙏
her owner wrote on The Cut(a sector of the NY Magazine) about how she neglected and abused her cat due to postpartum depression (which does not justify the abuse).
Specifics include starving lucky until she had to eat houseplants, not changing the litter for weeks and literally hoping her cat would die. This woman is endangering her cat and her child, and there was no mention of whether lucky is still under her abuse.
The Cut kept the abuser anonymous, and when people got mad and demanded to know lucky’s current condition, The Cut released a half-assed statement, focused on the worst comments, and tried to label everyone concerned about lucky as racists. The Cut has a series of questionable articles, essentially allowing pet abusers to justify their act.
I learned about this from luna the crunchy cat on youtube, they reposted the petition link and specifics about the situation. I also read up on related reddit threads because The Cut had the audacity to lock the article behind a paywall, and no way in hell would i pay for an organisation that never condoned abusers and even capitalising on these jarring topics.

It's literally just a sharpen effect overlaid on the same footage which is basically no different, but it's not the exact same on either side (source: experience in deep-frying images in not-Photoshop)

Yeah, this is laughable imo. For us Canadians, the price of the PS5 Pro is $950 CAD. That is absolutely insane, with tax it's easily over $1000 and the difference is non-existent. I already didn't care about the PS5, but now I care even less. Some companies really are that greedy.

I work at a game store and my faith in humanity was lost today. I had over 40 people calling and asking to pre-order the ps5 pro. Like, it wasnt even this much asking about the slim last year, or the upgraded xboxes coming out later this year. Its supremely stupid.

Meanwhile, my second hand 3060 ti with Xeon processor, 32 gb of ram, a 500gb ssd, 2 tb of hdd that i got in 2020 for $720 with two monitors included: runs Helldivers on ultra at 60+ fps, Cyberpunk with raytracing at 60+ fps, Baldurs Gate 3 on ultra at 144 fps, Elden Ring at 60 fps and the new Warhammer at 60 locked fps even with denuvo.
Oh, and i also purchased a wifi/bluetooth card for $10 and a cd reader for $5.
