Cried at your birth moment! Omg so sweet. Sorry that your birth was not as expected especially with home birth. God bless you and baby and family. This baby is a gift. ❤
Melissa you are amazing!! And Ryan, you did an incredible job supporting her! I’m impressed. I don’t think I’ve seen a dad do such a great job coaching a mom! I’m glad everything turned out ok and he is now home. Congratulations!
@@RyanandMelissaPage oh for sure! Having a good support person makes all the difference! Where did he learn how to do all that stuff? I’ve never even had a support person that was so knowledgeable
He read The Birth Partner by Penny Simkin (amzn.to/3ZdL4S5) and we watched a course called The Birth Partner Bootcamp by Pain Free Birth (painfreebirth.com/birth-partner-bootcamp/) Both were super helpful for him in prepping to support me in birth!
Wow,things nobody expects. But sounds like you had a great team looking out for both of you. So glad to hear you and Jackson came through those scary days well. 🌞
My husband is also a home birth husband (his mom is a former midwife; he introduced me to home birth in the first place). He is passionate about pregnancy and birth, so he talks to other men about it, and it's always shocking to him to hear how disgusted by and terrified of labor and birth most men are. Many think that my husband is insane for watching me in labor and catching his own babies. Makes me really sad for the women who would so benefit from home birth, but don't have the spousal support for it.
@@RyanandMelissaPage hank you and so sorry I’m late responding. When I was pushing I was screaming lungs out o couldn’t hardly talk the next day. My son was 12 lb 14 oz 22 inches long he was a big baby and it hurt so bad with him coming out i tore 4th degree. It healed pretty quick though and now I just found out I’m pregnant
I loved watching! I’ve had 2 babies at home and also adopted a newborn. We spent 3.5 weeks in the NICU with our adopted daughter and I couldn’t hardly imagine doing it while also being postpartum! It was tough enough without that! Congrats on a beautiful boy.
Aw!! Love that you had home births as well! Oh man, I’m sorry your newborn was in the NICU for that long! My heart goes out to you! I know how hard it is. But there’s nothing like bringing them home 💛🥰 So glad you enjoyed the video!
Congratulations Melissa & Ryan you two are going to be the best parents! I’ve never been so happy for people I’ve never met this was beautiful & you are so strong!!🤎
Congrats! He’s beautiful. I wish I had the strength for a home birth but it terrifies me 😩 lol you did so well! And your hubby is so supportive. Y’all will be great parents.
Did you keep the hand-written log? I bet that would be cool to look back on! I deleted the contraction app, so this video is the only way I'll remember in the future haha
I’m so proud of you and your strength 🙏❤️ you did incredible!!! I also had a similar situation where I hemorrhaged after delivery and had to be put under with the bakri balloon inserted. 🙏🙏 grateful both you and jack are healthy!! Congratulations again 🥰
Oh man! I’m so sorry you experienced that Katrina!! That is so scary. I had no idea! I’m so glad you and Lucas are safe and healthy 💛 Thank you so much! We love and miss you!
Would u do homebirth again? I've had 3 homebirths and 3 hospital births and see the pros and cons in each. I had to get transferred after my homebirth too. It's so traumatizing and felt defeating. After all that time staying home only to get transferred. Looking back, how do u feel about it now?
Hey Ali! I'm so sorry you had to transfer after one of your home births too. I know exactly how you feel 💛 I would and hope to do a home birth for our next! Especially with the same midwives since they know my body and my this labor. Looking back, I feel like I had a good labor and delivery at home and the after birth was handled professionally and quickly. I talked about this a little more in this video - ruclips.net/video/HkSqS4xrfQ0/видео.html - if you want to check it out!
What a loving husband ryan is and a good daddy this whole pregnancy!!
He's the best! I feel SO blessed to have him as a partner and for Jack to have him as his dad 💛

Thank you! It was scary, but he's perfect and healthy now 🥰
To bad every husband isn't like ryan during labor. What a gem.

Proud of you Mumma!
Thank you so much! I appreciate it 🥰
I didn't time contractions for first 3 births back in the day. Younger 2 had to use a clock with minute hand and write down times
