I haven't tried it solo, but I could certainly see it could be house-ruled fairly easily.

I saw once that you can simulate the fact that you don't know the other dices' color by rolling one color, place them, then roll the other color and place.

Don’t you HAVE to still place your mandatory axis dice in the final round to maintain the level?
