Hassan was my escape from the right wing pipeline I got stuck in in college. Ever since I left the right I dont have crippling anxiety anymore. I truly mean crippling. And I was so afraid of even hearing the viewpoints of the other side without someone like Steven crowder picking and choosing what I'm exposed to as to not offend me. I forgot why I watched a Hassan video all the way through, but then I kept doing it. He was able to explain things which I wasn't used to. I was so used to the right working only off their feelings and fears. And now I feel free. I'm not scared of progress or change anymore and it's liberating.

6:56 describing Destiny as “contrarian figurehead who falsely portrays himself as an intellectual” is spot on. the dude has a high school education & breadth of understanding, but his whole brand is LARPing as a guy who just took his first 300+ level undergrad course. I tried watching one of his streams a few weeks ago, and he started throwing around the word “simulacrum” like a dozen times, in a way where it was fairly obvious he’d just learned it (from a wikipedia page?) and was taking it out for a spin… as a dude in his late 30s. at this rate maybe he’ll start describing everything as “the panopticon” by the time he’s 40 haha.

I feel like his current clips and videos play well to his current audience, but I think you’re right on the idea that using his previous methodology on clips and breakdowns would help to get his same messaging across to a younger (and more “brain broken”) audience. As someone who was a massive Ben Shapiro fan, my brother showed me a clip of Hasan, and I almost instantly flipped (far better for myself and those around me).

I think it depends where you’re from. In much of Essex or the south west (Somerset, Devon and Cornwall for the most part) you’ll find a lot of people with wildly different backgrounds, but identify as working class, who are conservative. Essex might have changed, but in the 80s and 90s it was all builders who made shit tons of money in the building trade, called themselves working class, but *loved* Thatcher/Tories. In the south west, a lot of farmers consider themselves working class but literally always vote Tory.
I’m glad I never went down the alt right path despite claiming to be “conservative” through most of high school. Luckily by 2020 I was leaning towards Bernie then found Hasan. Now I’m a full on communist.

But I happened upon TYT when they had the TV deal with I believe Al Jazeera US. And that got me out of right wing thought.

on pronouns i dont get why people really are so apposed to it. At the end of the day it doesn't bother me what people want to refer to themselves and if it makes people happier to go by a different pronoun that i perceive them as why not?
I don't know about corbin. yeah his policies would have been good, if he ever got to implement them, but he kept losing elections. his legacy as labour leader is 14 years of tory rule and brexit. What does 'being right actually' matter if the practical effect is empowering those who are most wrong? Yeah, the labour establishment should have gotten behind him instead of undermining him, but he was the leader, it was his job to get them in line. And its hard to effectively criticize the labour establishment for not towing corbin's line when he was infamous for refusing to do the same for previous leaders when he was just an mp. Yeah the Tory press was rabidly against him in an absurdly unfair way, but if we excuse a labour leader for losing a rigged game then what? just keep losing until the tories decide to play fair, out of the goodness of their cold dead hearts?
The biggest problem for the truly left wing leaders of labour in the last 45 years has been the lies told about them. Post Blair for Corbyn it was fear mongering and lies he’s anti Semitic etc. Before that it was always fear mongering about trade unions. That’s what tended to stop them winning elections. Yeah, that does mean he lost due to lies. What good does pretending it’s all his fault do? Both point out the lies and cheats and work on making sure other people see the cheating and lying. Some will never see it, others take a lot of convincing… but what the hell else do we do when one side lies constantly? That isn’t “excusing”. Brexit wasn’t Corbyn’s fault, though he was in favour of leaving, it was squarely on Cameron’s shoulders. That guy promised a referendum in they got in, so a bunch of brexiters voted them in, then demanded the referendum. Cameron’s campaign was shyte if he actually wanted to remain. Now, it can be said Corbyn might have done the same, but they never ran a campaign on it and there was no indication they would have done a referendum. Brexit was ALL Cameron’s fault.
so uncomfortable how the way this type of "ex-conservative" guy speaks always makes it super obvious they very much have not escaped "alt right" patterns of thinking lol
Every freakin' time I click on one of these videos Hasan is STUFFING HIS FACE WITH FOOD. Does bro literally eat 24-7? I didn't have misaphonia before but I'm starting to get it.
As a polish person although there is a strong sentiment towards nato the only argument for Poland being in NATO is being on the border of massive imperial country and nato in theory is the coalition of multiple countries and although USA another imperial country has the strongest influence it is far away and has no interest in controlling Poland in a way Russia was in a past. The only reason for Poland and USA apart from some sympathies in past is that USA prefers border country to Russia like Poland or Lithuania etc to not be under it's control and it's more practical to us to have autonomy instead of being directly controlled. It does not change the fact that CIA and M16 were torturing captives from conflicts in middle EurAsia without Poland knowing about it and with disregard that it is illegal to do so as much at death sentence is in Poland. Most of it is my opinion which might or might not be shared by other Pols depending on their views, but the last one is true.

Dude, JimmyTheGiant is good, he did some good inequality stuff. Check out

It does give me a sense of superiority that I never fell for any of this stuff. Beliefs I came to based on my own conclusions.
It shouldn’t give you a sense of superiority. What are weird thing to say
@WizardWizard-l7w Thinking for yourself is something to be proud of when so many people fall for propaganda.
here you are consuming a leftist influencer's content... everyone, everyone has your misplaced sense of superiority
so uncomfortable how the way this type of "ex-conservative" guy speaks always makes it super obvious they very much have not escaped "alt right" patterns of thinking lol
I think it's wrong to think all patterns of thinking are simply "Left or right" but I'd like to hear examples of what you mean?
Example?
56:00 braindead NATO take wtf
