My plant flowered and I was excited because I had never seen this. So I let it do it's thing. The flowers have now died from either weather or end of life....I'm not sure. Should I cut the stalk off? Is there zero chance it will grow anything at this point?
Now with some plants and propagating roots (I think mint is one) you cut the stem, sorta like it's emo. It's giving more opportunities for roots. Would you recommend that? Do you let them callus before going in the dirt?
Wish I saw your Vlog earlier because 2 out of the 4 flowers have bloomed. So I cut the stock and hope it with grow. The mother plant doesn’t look healthy this year.
Hi! The mother plant will still grow more flower stems through the season or the following spring. The original stem won't produce seeds after being cut. So you get a choice between flower stems propagation or flower pollination.
My vft is growing a flower stalk, I will definitely be trying this out.
Awesome!
Thank you for posting this video. I learned something today.
Thanks for watching!
Your videos are very informative. I will share this whenever I can! Keep making these videos !
Thank you! I will do 😄
loving your channel, could you do follow up videos of this method of propagation? did you plant the stalk half, upside down?
Great video ! 🌿😊🌿 Plants are the best, specially the people behind them 🌿🤩🌿 You got a new sub from Denmark 🌿😊🇩🇰😊🌿.

I am glad you enjoy the videos. Welcome to the channel!!
Great video! I gave this a try yesterday and I wanted to know if I did it right, and it seems like I did
Great to hear!
Did it grow?
I just did this and i think i cut the stem into shorter pieces. I hope that some can grow anyway. Thanks for sharing.
Would be nice to see the results of the stalk propagation.
Thank you ❤

The flower on the stalk takes a lot of energy from the plant, by cutting the flower off you might increase your chances of success

You can always give it a try :) Just keep them at high humidity and they might spur 🌱
Thank you. Does it matter how deep you plant them? I'd have planted them about 1" into the soil. Is that too deep?
Hi i had a question i saw some videos they use a plastic bag with hole cover the whole plant. do u recommend use that??
Hi! It is not a requirement, but it can be beneficial. The bags help keep the moisture in the pots for longer periods.
Thank you my b52 and venusta both have stalk small but thanks for the respond :)
how to grow Aldrovanda vescilosa in water or soil do it need be distilled or regular ?
Can you plant the flower spikes up-side-down because you planted one of yours up-side-down
Yes, aither side works
Love the Chanel can you use boiled water
i think using boiled will still harm the plant unfortunately
I thought it is better to lay them horizontally so that if both ends are exposed to the moisture, there is double the success.
That's a great tip! I might try that with other flower stalks :)
will the mother plant grow a new flower stem and will the original stem gibe seeds if ee pollinate it ?

My vft was by the window during the solar eclipse of 2024 and now its talking.
How big were the drainish holes on your pots(cups)?
A pencil wide
I put pebbles in my humidity trays so mosquitos will not breed in it.
