This young dude goes out into a single car garage …. A few tools …and produces one of the most innovative overland builds I’ve seen. That’s real craftsmanship and ability. Great job
Amazing! I really Love the roof rack, I will be building a cab for my F-350 to make it my MTB home or just go alone somewhere in the mountains when I need a getaway and not haul the toy hauler, so much inspiration from your videos, subbed for future videos, keep up the great work!
You did an amazing job! I watched all five videos and you did a great job explaining things as you went along. You inspired me to build my own. Looking forward to the outside lights and roof rack video. I think solar panels to charge your power bank would be a nice addition.
Thank you Jeff! Waiting on my parts to be cut and shipped to me but once they are here I’ll get that roof rack installed and up asap! I debated solar panels but in the end decided against it. That battery bank has twice as much juice as I’d need to power the trailer for the whole weekend. So it works out perfect!
Your fan seems to be the "cat's meaow" it pers like a happy cat. I did imagine you getting stuck to fan will it was running. But I am glad the fan is not that strong. 😅😊 Well, at any rate, have fun in your camper. You did a great job. 👍
Just put a battery strap on your battery. And then you want it to worry about it. Then if you put your roof rack on top, then you can put it a solar panel on it, keep your battery charged..
I am planning to build my own camper as well and you just gave me an idea in this video lol. I know you are going to add more tint to darken it some more...but me...I had another thought instead...one way mirror tint. Keep the prying eyes from peeking in during the day. Plus, am pretty sure...even though its got tint in front of it from the window itself...have a theory that it would also help reflect the light/heat some. It may not be a lot, but something is better than nothing honestly.
the only thing i don't like is grounding house loads to the chassis is generally asking for trouble but with it being protected from weather it may be ok
Awesome videos! I binge-watched your three trailer builds this weekend. It would be neat to get the price breakdown and a walk around video…maybe as you are using it camping. Nice work.
This was a super helpful series! When you sent your dxf file to have that panel cut, did you create it using Autocad or something else. Sorry if you answered this (a million times) already.
Piedmont plastics makes a material specific to trailer walls called Polycor (largest width is 49 inches). I mentioned I wanted their ACM which is what you used (it comes in up to 5x10 sheets which would better fit my design). The ACM works great but they are less convinced about long term durability. How is your's holding up?
1st thing I'm thinking of, is a box for muddy shoes? Also instead of a shelf, more enclosed compartments at the top of each wall, for storage, like clothes? Still giving you lots of floor/bed space? I do want something similar, but with my kids a 2nd storey (Roof Top Tent) would be needed too. Anyway, I'm really impressed with what you have achieved, but I need to know, how much did you save on a $30,000 trailer?
Yes! I was just telling Amanda we need to find a box for our shoes to go in at the foot of the bed. As far as other storage goes could definitely add stuff like that in the future! I think as of right now the setup we got will work just fine but time will tell 👌🏼 If I had to guess I’m around 5k in on the whole build. I will be adding it all up and doing a video on cost at the end!
Hey bro , you did a great job on that. I’m actually looking for something just like that. Unfortunately it’s not something I can do or make but also wondering where you are from and would you be able to build one just like that for someone? Over it looks fantastic 👍🏽
Excellent Build John. I’ve enjoyed all your trailer projects! I have a question.. who makes those grey totes with the adjustable dividers? I see them in your videos,as when you are staining the wood. They look perfect for my trailer storage dilemma. Thank you -JW
Curious if you’ve had any issues with the acm separating? Asking because when I contacted piedmont, I was advised to use polycor instead because he said the acm would separate from the core. Only issue I have with that it does not come in 5x10. Thanks for doing this video series also. Great job and lots of inspiration!
Bro,I love it,great job all the way around,I'm just starting planning and aquiring the materials needed to build my own little camp nest for me and another, you do great explaining things and your attention to explaining the smaller details is very helpful and most vids don't do THAT ‼️ Keep up the great work and for what it's worth, you seem like a really cool dude,I hope to see ]a out THERE someday 8n the future out doing your thing with THAT little crib you've built ‼️💪💪💪❤️
Wow! That is a very nice little overland camper! Would you be willing to share the cost of the materials? Not tools, but a list of the cost of materials that you used: wheels, axle, suspension, body materials, windows, door, etc. A list would be more useful than just a single total amount. I would like to know what I would be getting into (cost wise) before starting. Thank you for these great videos!
Best way to learn is by practicing! You can learn A lot on RUclips as well with educational videos. That can get you started and help you understand how everything works but nothing beats time behind the welder.
Great job, I've enjoyed watching the entire series. If I can ask, what computer program/software do you use to draw up your projects? Sorry if you covered this already.
I'm curious how much this weighs. The frame looks super rigid. The weight of the panels saves a lot to I'm sure. Also i know location plays a big part and there is no way to go into every penny. but I'm wondering if you could give us a cost estimate
Thanks for watching David! I’m curious how much it weighs too I need to go get it done. I do plan to do a full cost breakdown video on the build! If I had to guess without adding it up It has to be around 5k.
Great to see a new video man. The build is coming along beautifully; super clean and classy. Nice job. Could you have used the same peel and stick flooring but on the ceiling? Is there an advantage to using real wood?
Appreciate it dude!! Very happy with it. So the floor isn’t adhesive, it’s the lock together wood planks. So for the ceiling it would be difficult to get up there and secure. I do think the tongue and groove definitely added weight. But in my opinion the finished look is worth it!
@@Adv4x4 ah that makes sense. I forgot it wasn’t peel & stick but cut & click. Either way the build looks nice & slick! (See what I did there?) anyway I’ll keep and eye out for you on the road around here! (Where in VA are you?)
It’s just MDF board! If you go to my detailed build series videos I explain that whole process. I made it so they are easily removable if I decided it’s not holding up well enough

Just got my wife an Ecoflow River MAX 576Wh for her fiber shop to run her overhead LED lighting. I love those things!!! Build looks great!
They are awesome units! Have been using the heck out of mine whenever I can. Thanks man!!
Great set of videos and fantastic build quality. I just did the same as you but a tear drop style. No back galley.
Awesome! Yeah our trucks are already setup to cook so for me it didn’t make sense to lose space for a galley.

Any idea of the overall weight when finished?
I estimate under 1000 lbs

Thanks for this mate, you made pretty easy to follow, much appreciated.
Awesome. Thanks for watching man!
Awesome build, thank you
Wicked build man. Turned out amazing. Time to enjoy all the hard work and get out there!!
Thank you sir!! Have already slept in it 4 nights! Hahah
@@Adv4x4 I like the dark / light contrast you did. I ended up doing a light / light theme. I'm thinking about stain. Hmmm
Fantastic, great job!
Thanks!!

Yeah man I think that would definitely help with the sun!
Great progress! It looks really spacious inside. Looking forward to the roof rack.
Thanks man! Very spacious! Glad I went with the dimensions that I did.
Dude. Wow. Amazing job!!!!
Thanks bud!!
mattress size? im looking to build a trailer that will fit a queen size mattress. i may go the route of spray foam for insulation.
Great build! Enjoyed this series and look forward to any further upgrades.
Thanks Peter 🙌🏻
Very nice!

Awesome build, man.
Appreciate it Robert!
the only thing i don't like is grounding house loads to the chassis is generally asking for trouble but with it being protected from weather it may be ok
Vehicles ground to chassis all over & most are exposed to the elements. They will be good!

How much did the trailer end up weighing?
What did the final weight come to?

I used “draft paper” for free on iPad for the design when building.
I made the blueprints on Shapr3d which is a paid app
Thank you
So the eco flow runs all the lights and fan? What size is the eco flow?
I believe it’s around 748WH it’s an ecoflow river pro. It’s plenty of power for an extended weekend

Draft paper is one and the other 3D one is Shapr3D!
Got an affiliate link for the mattress?
Here you go!
