Lyrics:
There was a boy I met in kindergarten
He was sweet, he said that I was smart
He was good at sports and people liked him
And at nap time once we shared a mat
I didn't sleep I sat and watched him breathing
Watched and dreamed for nearly half an hour
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Then he woke up
He pulled a scab off one time playing kick ball
Kissed me quick then pressed it in my hand
I took that scab and put it in a locket
All year long I wore it near my heart
He didn't care if I was thin or pretty
And he was mine until we hit first grade
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Then he woke up
Last night I dreamed a horse with wings
Flew down into my home room
On its back there he sat
And he held out his arm
So we sailed above the gym
Across the faculty parking lot
My kindergarten boyfriend and I
And a horse with wings
Now we're all grown up and we know better
Now we recognize the way things are
Certain boys are just for kindergarten
Certain girls are meant to be alone
But I believe any dream worth having
Is a dream that should not have to end
So I'll build a dream that I can live in
And this time I'm never waking up
And we'll soar above the trees
Over cars and croquet lawns
Past the church and the lake
And the try-county mall
We will fly through the dawn
To a new kindergarten
Where nap time is centuries long
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooh

It’s so frustrating because I can hit the notes just fine but I keep messing up on the tempo.
SAMEEE
ME TOOOOOOOO
Certain boys are meant for Kindergarten, certain boys are meant to be alone.
nop
make it gay, girl
That's what Micheal Mell would have sang about Jeremy while Jeremy had the Squip
Alyssa Campana hiw did you know I changed that lyric to fit to me?
That is how i sang it for talent show last week
Alyssa Campana *girls
performed this at my theater camp during karaoke and got a standing ovation!
Ms FandomTV woAh! You should've totally recorded it :))) would love to hear it :pp
👏👏👏
I sung this in class on karaoke at the end of the year. Halfway through I almost cried and I kept on singing (I felt like Ben Platt lmao) when I came off stage I didn't feel sad anymore which means I totally got into character lol.
I love your name
THANK GOD FOR YOUR RECOGNITION OF THIS SONG
Why does the instrumental sound even sadder than it does with lyrics? ;-;
Because, with no voice to sing it, the music sounds even lonlier....
because there's no longer are small bit of humor, its just sad
“Certain girls are meant to be alone.”
...like me.
Edit: I’m the 1,000th subscriber. I feel accomplished.

Heathers the Musical - Kindergarten Boyfriend Lyrics
"Kindergarten Boyfriend" is a song from Heathers performed by Katie Ladner (Martha).
There was a boy I met in kindergarten
He was sweet, he said that I was smart
He was good at sports and people liked him
And at nap time once we shared a mat
I didn't sleep I sat and watched him breathing
Watched and dreamed for nearly half an hour
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Then he woke up
He pulled a scab off one time playing kick ball
Kissed me quick then pressed it in my hand
I took that scab and put it in a locket
All year long I wore it near my heart
He didn't care if I was thin or pretty
And he was mine until we hit first grade
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Then he woke up
Last night I dreamed a horse with wings
Flew down into my home room
On its back there he sat
And he held out his arm
So we sailed above the gym
Across the faculty parking lot
My kindergarten boyfriend and I
And a horse with wings
Now we're all grown up and we know better
Now we recognize the way things are
Certain boys are just for kindergarten
Certain girls are meant to be alone
But I believe any dream worth having
Is a dream that should not have to end
So I'll build a dream that I can live in
And this time I'm never waking up
And we'll soar above the trees
Over cars and croquet lawns
Past the church and the lake
And the try-county mall
We will fly through the dawn
To a new kindergarten
Where nap time is centuries long
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh

MusiC at Lol that would've messed this up in Veronica's and Martha's friendship
Certain boys are just for kindergarten, certain girls are meant to be alone.
thank you so much for this, i am doing this song for an audition for the addams family tomorrow at my high school and this has really helped me practice :) thank you!
The lyric is actually "Watched him dream for nearly half an hour". Watched and dreamed doesn't make sense because she said she didn't sleep.
Broadway Davekat she watched him sleep. People usually dream while sleeping.
The lyric is:
"I didn't sleep, I sat and watched him breathing. Watched him dream for nearly half-an-hour"
Broadway Davekat Did people think it was something else?
Daydreamed.
But I believe any dream worth having
Is a dream that should not have to end
So I'll build a dream that I can live in
And this time I'm never waking up
And we'll soar above the trees
Over cars and croquet lawns
Past the church and the lake
And the try-county mall
We will fly through the dawn
To a new kindergarten
Where nap time is centuries long
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh ooh
Ooh ooh
Am I the only one who doesn’t know where to come in when singing...?
There was a boy I met in kindergarten
He was sweet, he said that I was smart
He was good at sports and people liked him
And at naptime once we shared a mat
I didnt sleep, I sat and watched him breathing
Watched him dream for nearly half an hour
Oooh
Then he woke up.
He pulled a scab of once playing kickball
He kissed me quick and pressed it in my hand
I took that scab and put it in a locket
All year long I wore it near my heart
He didnt care if I was thin or pretty
And he was mine until we hit first grade
Oooh.
Then he woke up.
Last night I dreamed
A horse with wings flew down into my homeroom
On its back, there he sat
And he held out his arms
So we sailed across the gym
Above the faculty parking lot
My kindergarten boyfriend and I
And a horse with wings
Now were all grown up and we know better
Now we recognize the way things are
Certain boys are meant for kindergarten
Certain girls are meant to be alone
But I believe that any dream worth having
S a dream that should not have to end
So Ill build a dream that I can live in
And this time Im never waking up
And well soar above the trees
Over cars and croquet lawns
Past the church and the lake
And the Tri County Mall
We will fly through the dawn
To a new kindergarten
Where naptime is centuries long
Oooh...
Who else cried while singing?
I did 😭😭😭 I felt so bad for martha
Everything is great except for one spelling error in the lyrics in the description. You have "try-county mall" when it's supposed to be "tri-county mall", kinda like tri-state area. Just here to help! Oh and also you have "Watched and dreamed for nearly half an hour" but it's "watched him dream for nearly half an hour".
You're right! Also, Heathers is Off-Broadway.
Thank you thank you thank you
thanks. keep on.
Oh these are great. Could you please make one for Shine a Light???
Noah Lindquist i have one on my channel :)
I love the thumbnail
DONT PAY ATTENTION TO THIS

There was a child he knew in kindergarten. He was sweet, he was smart. He was good at sports and people like plays. And at the time of the nap once we shared a carpet I didn't sleep, I sat down and watched you breathe. dream for almost half an hour
Oi!
Then he woke up.
He pulled a sloppy, once playing ball. He kissed me quickly and squeezed it in my hand. I took this shed and put it in the closet all year, I carried it close to my heart. I didn’t care if I was thin or pretty and it was mine until we reached first grade
Oi!
Then he woke up.
Last night I dreamed a horse with wings was flying to my home room on his back he was sitting there and he held out his arms so we sailed across the gym over the faculty parking lot My boyfriend and I are a horse with wings
Now everyone was grown up and we know better now we know how many boys are meant for kindergarten there are girls who should be alone
But I believe every dream worth holding a dream that should not end so I build a dream that I can live in and this time I never wake up
And hover well over the trees over cars and crooked lawns past Church and Lake and Tri County Mall. We fly through dawn to a new kindergarten where the night time is centuries long
oi!
