That's what makes it effective. When anime are miserable through out it my reaction is basically "oh ok, so now they're facing something tougher than before, they'll get through it like they did last time" or "hey this isn't sad as the last thing that happened".
However when an anime is happy most of the way, then the sad scenes hit hard because they make me think "wait no, Don't take away their happiness!"
If an anime is Sad throughout, then it just feels like the characters have always been miserable so it's not like they're really losing anything, they're just feeling a different sadness to what they were feeling last time.
However when there are happy moments, we can feel the gravity of what was taken away.
This is what made me cry a tonne more in Angel Beats then Clannad.

You know what's great about Assassination Classroom? It makes you fell as though you're part of fhe class and actually made you feel like you have bonded with each and everyone of them. So when it ends it also feels like you're graduating all over again. We all have that feeling of bittersweet nostalgia on our graduation where our daily routine will change, we won't see our teachers each mornings, or sit next to our friends all day. This anime really took us on a journey all over again, keeping Koro-sensei's guidance and wisdom. It feels like they're really are your friends that have grown up, have their own lives, that you haven't seen for so long.. This anime is literally a masterpiece, our very own sistine chapel. 1000/10💛💛💛
I know that its not just me, This anime has also given us a lot of inspiration and life lessons as well. One of the best anime I've seen so far. Koro-sensei's words are really inspiring. Especially when you're watching this on English dubbed version. He's a teacher whom a student can ask for. I really love this anime so much.

Though his first appearance, Curiousness was the only one to fill the "children's" feelings he's put his goals onto. Those memories he hid with that smile and bubbly attitude which didn't harmed the class and instead gave them hope and rose from the depressing teases they were given. Indeed, a teacher that would never be powered by anyone else; though yes, he was once this bad as a person. Always killing and leaving paths bloodied. But, doing his best, and motivated, loved, supported, and lectured these Class-E students, is a very good person inside with pure heart and soul.

I have a few teachers who are in some ways like Korosensei. They always spend their time on money on us to make sure we pass our exams and they believe in us even when we don’t believe in ourselves. Yet many of my classmates take their kindness for granted. These past weeks have been very stressful but thanks to my teachers, I know I will do well because they have done everything they can to help us. For that, I am truely grateful, I just wish my classmates could appreciate this too.

i know this comment is extremely old but i feel the same way. it may be because a lot of us have learnt lessons from watching this show and it’s helped us realise some people’s thinking and korosensi’s character was the one that portrayed all these life lessons so once he died it felt like we lost someone dear to us who taught us a lot

I just finished the anime and holy crap, there was a stream of tears.
All of the moments and bonding that they spent with Koro Sensei was amazing, Koro Sensei helped all of the students to reach their goals.
All of his encouraging words, advices he tells to the students. Every time he does that, i tear up.
The ending was painful but like Koro Sensei said "Calm Yourself. Smile"

This is probably the only anime series which made me bawl out my eyes out the most without a care in the world. I'm a student who is still studying and watching this anime made me think of all the possible number of ways life could go, you just had to find them. Koro-Sensei was definitely the star of the show. He really is a teacher any student could want. He seems to analyse the students not by their academic ability but what their good traits are and work on them. He taught things that were outside the textbooks, values that we could put in our daily lives and also lots of inspirational quotes that motivated me personally. When he had to die, I started to think about the good times I had with my own teachers in the past and now. I even started to think about the friends I had made and the good times. I can say without doubt that I started to get the feels, and they were very painful. Just thinking that one day, they would disappear from my life, I found it unbearable. I can say this was one of the better series in my opinion. It teaches the viewer how to appreciate what you have now and cherish it with the time you have.

We're all like class 3-E students who're struggling to bring out the best of their capabilities and talents, but having Koro-sensei as their bestest teacher taught them so much. This is the anime if you're finding something that will teach you life lessons and it can also make you cry
I cry everytime I listen to this song... I finished the anime Yesterday, and I'm coming back to the songs and scenes, cause I don't have enough of this feels... I feel empty and my heart is breaking everytime I see Koro sensei dying... I wish that I watched anime when this still was on... Cause I need to talk about it so much ... Be in the fandom, enjoy the moments with everyone... Sadly, It ended... This is the most touching and sweet anime I've ever seen... I love it cause It's funny,mysterious,sad and sweet at the same time. I felt connected to every character in the class... Dying of laughter at the funny moments, Watching them have fun together, Being angry when something bad happened, being sad and crying when... the best teacher I've ever seen died... I love it so much. This anime gave me feels. I learned so much from it, but the most important thing was that everything is not forever and I have to enjoy everything, while it lasts... I felt like I'm here with the class, that I am a class 3E student... Really proud student... I could write essays of how much this anime touched my heart, and it still touches everytime I hear something about it... Watching everyone grow up was so sweet. Koro sensei was so caring and sweet... It turned out that the students cared about him too. Even the ones we never expected to care. All I can say is thanks for reading this and ...

Am I the only one who felt so bad after watching this. I literally cried all night and couldn't stop thinking of it for days after the ending of the show. I think I'm too into it because I never really cry when watching anime series. Plus: I literally felt so moved by this because Koro-Sensei was like family to me somehow. I literally felt like no other anime was as good as this. I still feel moved and sad though it's been dayssss. Maybe its the weather too ;-; ... I'm weird.

Korosensei taught me that the most important thing in teaching is not the lesson plans, grandeur programs, or exclusive facilities and buildings. The most important things are subtle compassion, growth mindset, cooperation, bonding between students and teachers. Korosensei reminded me with one of my best teacher. He who lifted their students, who believed that every of his students had best potential within, who ignited the growth mindset. I was so lucky to have a teacher like him. Similar to Nagisa, as I was inspired by his teaching, I am now a teacher too. This teacher is my forever teacher model for me.

To be honest, when I watch this series, I totally felt like I am one of them, I felt the pain throughout the final season especially approaching Koro Sensei death 😭 And I do learn a lot about life from the series. I thanked you who understand how I have felt 🙇🏻💞 Arigato!! Best anime 😭

I rarely cried just by watching movies. But this anime... this do put tears on my eyes. Taught me a lot about being yourself and maximizing what's within you, and not pushing to become somebody else. RIP Koro Sensei. Deep thanks to the director, studio, sound artist, etc that I haven't mentioned. Definitely gonna remember this anime till I die.
