Jake's rule was pretty good. I think another new good rule that could be used for 2d art battles would be to rotate your piece 180 degrees counterclockwise so you'll have to work on it upside down for x minutes or the rest of the video (and no moving around the table so you can look at it correctly).

Colored pencils are my favorite art medium! You can do so much with them and you have much more control. You can somewhat erase them, blend colors, I love it!
