On Saturday, Japan delivered a hard-fought 3-1 (25-20, 23-25, 26-24, 25-23) victory over Paris-bound Dominican Republic, with Koga once again leading the team’s scorers. This time, she put away 19 points, again all in offence. Hayashi and Ishikawa finished with 15 points each, while middle blocker Nichika Yamada added another 10, four of which in stuff blocks. Dominican opposite Gaila Gonzalez-Lopez hammered out the match high of 25 points, supported by outsides Madeline Guillen and Yonkaira Pena Isabel with 16 points apiece.

Koga power-switching on her hits is crazy.
Imagine, you're on the opposite court and you see Koga doing a full run-up at backrow. Then, due to Japan's S-tier Setter's genius play, Koga's net view is literally open wide that she can hit the ball on any angle.... so, you instinctly prepped yourself to dig up a powered fast ball...only to see Koga doing a well-placed powered cutshot.... 😐
Koga's presence of mind and discipline are unreal! She opted to do an attack that caught the opposing defenders off-guard and got a point. I prolly think she knows that had she hit a hard ball, it would have been dugged considering DOM players' position on that point-play.
What a come back of Team Japan in set 3!
