Hi @blackflagleathergoods. Can I make a suggestion that would help us newbies with doing projects? Could you add the leather thickness to your list of materials on the pattern? No one ever seems to mention what leather they used so it's really difficult to figure out what's needed.
Well, I might be just the only one here that is dumb enough to cut out three pieces and then read the instructions ...and somehow forget what Tim showed in the video (facepalm) I just want to say that I really appreciate all the info and everything else that you are showing here. Thank you Tim!

Thank you for this template, I have really enjoyed using it. One slight mod I have made was to make the overall dimensions bigger by about 1/8" larger, as I was not sure if it would accommodate all sunglasses, therefore I played safe... This may well be me being over cautious? Thanks for sharing and making a great video.
can you make a template for sun shield for the sides of sun glasses? something I can cut out in leather to block the sun from coming around the sides/top of the glasses.
Just a comment on the Black Flag design on the template. The design is so dark it hides the black lines used to cut out the template especially on the small piece. Not a complaint just feedback. Thanks again for the pattern.

I'm working on it! I'm not great at cad yet. Trying to learn. I will be making the stls so they slot together, just my attempts at it so far we're failures.

It's a tough call. I really love working with Horween. It's beautiful stuff. But I also love SB Foot... It has so many amazing different finishes and colours... The only catch is you can go insane trying to burnish it! How about you?
@@BlackFlagLeatherGoods I feel absolutely the same. I like SB foot for the price point also. When I want to treat myself , it’s Horween all the way . I am anxiously awaiting Ian’s Italian veg tan announcement. I have used sepici on a few projects now and have fallen in love with it also.
I was really excited to get a nice brown pull up leather and I instantly wanted to make a wallet of yours. But when I taped the template on the leather it left marks that I couldn't get out. Since then I really hated that tip...
That sucks. It might be the tape you're using. I've never had that issue. You can glue the template to some cardboard and cut it out then use that to scratch around with your awl. That way you can reuse the template too.
@@BlackFlagLeatherGoods the wallet came out great tho! I was using yellow painters tape and with other projects I did like you described with the cardboard. But when I heard that tip I was like "oh yeah, let's give that a try!" I think I will stick to the cardboard and scratch awl just to be sure. Thanks for the free pattern btw!

Haha I've done this using my own pattern! You can get a few card slots cut out of the scraps.

I think that one was 5-6 oz but I also just made one out of 4-5 oz. I probably wouldn't go any thinner than that.

Closed type gazette will be good... Glue a piece of leather inside back of the snap button (safer against scratch on Lens)🙏🏽
Oh you're probably right! With the nose piece in, my shades don't touch the metal at all though.
How far apart are your callipers?
I usually put them about 4mm apart.

You're most welcome! This is 5-6oz, but I love the thicker leather. I wouldn't go any lower than 4-5oz, though.
