But Yamamoto Ryu is worse... Not to mention lacking in setting consistency, he likes to dump a lot even if he is not good at it, which isn't really a great habit. Setters should prioritize to set better not consistently doing inefficient dumps.I mean, if you can dump like Giannelli, Christenson, even Maa(his setting skills are not great but I have to admit his dumping skills), I would not say a word. And I think Eiro got retired as a player after last season, as Wolfdogs announced. But even if he didn't, he is not really Jpn NT's style kind of setter as he has shown enough before. I like Oya, and I also hope he can make it to A team. Above all, the reason they are using Fukatsu as a sub setter is because he is more experienced and has more defensive skills than the three setters you have mentioned. And if the setter isn't Sekita, results won't be much different no matter who came in as a sub.

Yeah it's pretty long tournament. Many teams treat this tournament as preparation just before the Olympics, which is why you can see a lot of young, less experienced players like in the US or Poland.
Japan's team B played really good in defense, it was not an easy victory for Italy (despite the difference in the sets scoring). Michieletto showing off his guns like Larry was so funny.
They are not team B, they are still part of team A. You mean 2nd stringers. Also Larry needs to be a little humble so I think he deserved the mockery. It’s different and tougher in international games.
@@titopothos7037 The most of the team are subs. Like Miyaura is generally the sub of Nishida although we could count him as OP too, because they are pretty close to each other strength wise. The Setter was different. Both OH are not there as they still rest from their clubs. The main libero didn’t play and the coach also used other Middleblockers at moments so it really was mostly a second team, but the game was still very fun
Me either I would like to be a professional player I am center and I hope to make international volleyball group in WhatsApp if anyone interesting like my comment
Win or lose..I still love japan! They’re hard working specially on floor defense and they’re very fun to watch during their plays. There’s something eye-catching when they play compared to other teams. I dunno what it is..like they’re one of the shortest team but they can really jump high, their footwork & their tempo is fast. There are a lot of power hitters, tall players in other teams but their plays are predictable and they look sluggish to me and a little bit boring but when Japan plays they look like jumping little beans to me so quick and has good reflexes when it comes to floor defense. They don’t give up the ball easily. This is not just based on the Japan’s men players, you can also see it in their women’s players. I love Poland, Italy, France, & Cuba (young team with strong players this year), but Japan will always be my fave! They make volleyball more fun to watch. They’re the only reason why I watch and subscribed yearly to VBTV app just so I can watch their games and replays from 2019 to recent years! 😂 And to those commenting that Japanese fans are disrespectful, well, that person isn’t really a true fan of volleyball. VNL week1 games is held in Brazil, week2 will be in the Phils. So the one’s booing here are not Japanese but the Brazilians fans. Anyways, to team Japan B roster players you still played your best and may this loss be your stepping stone for improvements! Can’t wait to watch the main players in week2 or olympics! Keep playing and showing fun volleyball for us to watch, Team Japan!!! ❤❤❤
Rispondo a tutti e tre (credo😜). Non mi piacciono questi tornei in cui c'è chi manda la squadra A, chi la B e qualcuno pure la Z, al fine di sperimentare questo e quello. I really don’t understand the coach’s decision to play with bench players against Italy’s strongest team… (especially that the 3rd place in fivb ranking was at stake)
No problemo!. Japan just save their energy to face the semifinal stage. Only Poland and Italy teams can beat Japan. But I am still believe that Japan will be the champion. ❤ from Indonesia
Too much excuses, Japan cannot defeat Italy even if you put Ishikawa or Takahashi....all I thought boastful Nishida can do everything.....Nishida went to the toilet....
Nah. While this avoids the fingers being taken advantage of by block touch, having a fist creates less surface area to block, and the resulting surface from curled up fingers isnt flat but bumpy so harder to control the deflection of the ball if it hits that part of your upper arm.
Coach Blaine is just giving everyone experiences against a TOUGH Italian team! Which is GOOD considering the Olympics are way more important than VNL 2024. Resting his players for matches that Japan has a higher chance of winning rather than playing your best starting players against Italy, which is a battle regardless. Japan hung in there with their new younger players. The thing about Japan is that they know WHO they can beat and who they have a low % of beating against. The players can't play back to back to back matches or else they will risk INJURIES...and if you guys understand that every players have a "jump count". Meaning, they can't JUMP so many times a week before their body says NO. You have to let your players rest or else fatigue will set in and you will risk injuries and NO ONE wants an injury when the Olympics are only months away. A sprain ankle due to fatigue from over-playing will take MONTHS to recover and that will lead into the Olympics. Not to mention, once you can walk on your sprain ankle, you need to rest for it to be fully healed. So low-risk tactical outcomes need to be put in play for Nishida, Ran, Sekita, and Ishikawa!! Japan plays very well today! Congratulations to Italy, but once the full squad comes back, it will be amazing to witness a rematch and a battle in the Olympics!!
Italy is SCARY In a good shape they are one of the few nation able to make Poland fall They recreated the PERUGIA play style Strong serves ,SCARY block You got Lavia who is similar to Semeniuk (good receive, strong serves, very few error and INSANE at recycling when out of systeme) Michieletto who is an upgrades Plotnytskyi , I mean the MVP of the Champion's league for a reason Giannelli being a good blocker , and he is the most athletic setter in the world rn, he is always under the ball giving option to his outside Russo is at his prime tbh , he is always there to block the ball and he is the one leading the block of this team Gallassi is also playing out of his mind Romano is very effective for the moments , and again we have a similar player to Ben Tara (Perugia's oppo) ,strong block strong serve strong spike and unstoppable on a roll And the Libero Ballasso is to me the libero that had the most impressive club season this year (or at least top 3) Can't wait to see them playing in the olympics And wp to japan's "newbie" for taking the first set , they did an amazing job
Wait wait wait... Italy played this type of volleyball with great blocks and defense since some years now. Coach De Giorgi is not trying to recreate the Perugia system, Perugia is trying to recreate the Italy system. Then, Michieletto, Lavia, Sbertoli (second setter) Laurenzano (second libero), waiting for Kamil Rychlicki plays for Trento, who was Trento's coach before this year? Lorenzetti, Perugia's coach now. Then, Romanç and Ben Tara are very different, Michieletto and Plot are very different too. I understand what you are trying to say, but recalibrate it.
@@LorenzoAor I didn't talk much about trento and their type of game is very similar as well. But when I said trying to recreate perugia's system it's because Giannelli is the hearth and the head of it on the court. So that's why i called it like that . And this blocking has been mastered by perugia this year and in the recent year Italy has never been as scary as they are rn so that's why i talked about it like that while trento was less consitent at blocking this year imo. Michieletto and Plotnytskyi are similar in a sens that they are lefty amazing at hitting out of systeme , strong blocker strong server. To me that sounds similar, they obviously aren't the same tho For Ben Tara and romano they are not the same but the way Giannelli uses them is similar so yeah i get your point but i hope you also get mine. But anyway what im trying to say is that this Italian team is one of the only team able to fight hands to hands with Poland
Coach Philip Blaine trusts his team, however he also knew from the get go that Italy will be playing in full force with their Meta players, Nippon prime players are incomplete so he chose to have his team mixed up with SSS Tier and his bench players. This is to give his team the experience, also they're already qualified for Paris, he has mad respect for Team Italy, that he knew from the beginning that Team Nippon will be no match for such a strong force of Italy. But then again he utilized all of his players to give us viewers a great match. I'm not delusional in saying that it is still a great game, you can see the grit, tenacity, and perseverance of Ryujin Nippon they all work hard for the match. Also, congratulations Italy, such a very strong team everyone has improved with their control and defense, playing in different clubs in Italia just made their National Team a lot more strong. Michie and Lavia dang these guys are amazing!! Thanks both Italia and Nippon for this epic game!!

So funny that Italy which is one of the world's top teams who haven't qualified yet for the Olympics. If they manage to be at the Top 1 rank, that will be more funny. 😂😂 I'm talking about both men and women 😂
Last summer both teams arrived at the qualification tournament reallt tired. The italian championship is the hardest in the world because there's no easy games and you can't do so much turnover. Michieletto for example after the Olympics wil have the first periode of rest since last summer. Play an entire year without period of rest at these levels is almost insane. Same for women. Don't forget that the qualification tournament was after the VNL and after the European championship. Players arrives at their clubs that they were destroyed and the beginning of the 2023\24 season for the italian national players was really hard for this reason.

@@desireeeliz4238You may be true about the Nishida thing, however you have to admit that even looking at the statistics, this is not overhyping. No excuses either. Despite the fact that they are shorter than most teams, they are still in the top 5. Plus, today they used the bench. That's why the comment is saying that they learned something. That's because they aren't really given a chance to fight against a strong team like Italy. You're the one who needs to stop riding the nostalgia. Move on.

Many teams treat this tournament as preparation just before the Olympics,
which is why you can see a lot of young, less experienced players like in the US or Poland.

Japan's team B played really good in defense, it was not an easy victory for Italy (despite the difference in the sets scoring). Michieletto showing off his guns like Larry was so funny.
cry
They are not team B, they are still part of team A. You mean 2nd stringers. Also Larry needs to be a little humble so I think he deserved the mockery. It’s different and tougher in international games.
@@titopothos7037 The most of the team are subs. Like Miyaura is generally the sub of Nishida although we could count him as OP too, because they are pretty close to each other strength wise. The Setter was different. Both OH are not there as they still rest from their clubs. The main libero didn’t play and the coach also used other Middleblockers at moments so it really was mostly a second team, but the game was still very fun
Il Giappone dovrà affrontare squadre molto molto forti. Non sarà facile.

Filipino overhyping Japan, no Nishida team, ugly Nishida, boastful..

Interesting match. Good 👍 job to both teams.
Rispondo a tutti e tre (credo😜). Just started volleyball first time watching exited
Ok, let's talk about Fukatsu NEW style of blocking.
Fist pump style, to avoid getting wiped- Will this become a thing in volleyball now?? ;)
Italy is SCARY
In a good shape they are one of the few nation able to make Poland fall
They recreated the PERUGIA play style
Strong serves ,SCARY block
You got Lavia who is similar to Semeniuk (good receive, strong serves, very few error and INSANE at recycling when out of systeme)
Michieletto who is an upgrades Plotnytskyi , I mean the MVP of the Champion's league for a reason
Giannelli being a good blocker , and he is the most athletic setter in the world rn, he is always under the ball giving option to his outside
Russo is at his prime tbh , he is always there to block the ball and he is the one leading the block of this team
Gallassi is also playing out of his mind
Romano is very effective for the moments , and again we have a similar player to Ben Tara (Perugia's oppo) ,strong block strong serve strong spike and unstoppable on a roll
And the Libero Ballasso is to me the libero that had the most impressive club season this year (or at least top 3)
Can't wait to see them playing in the olympics
And wp to japan's "newbie" for taking the first set , they did an amazing job
To me that sounds similar, they obviously aren't the same tho
For Ben Tara and romano they are not the same but the way Giannelli uses them is similar so yeah i get your point but i hope you also get mine.
But anyway what im trying to say is that this Italian team is one of the only team able to fight hands to hands with Poland
Both team are Gen Z generation and playing with modern strategies and speed. So worth and interesting to watch
Italy won it was close, both teams were in full force, I saw that the main Japanese players were not there
