I really hope it's going to be good, but I'm skeptical because how many times Disney has shown that they can ruin even something that seemed perfect. I really hope Acolyte won't be a typical Disney series because it's an exploration of a new era. This series is supposed to be a pioneer and even saying "it wasn't bad" is a failure. This series has to be at least good. As for the trailer itself, it showed absolutely nothing. Sorry, but swinging lightsabers doesn't excite me, it's literally a red flag. What makes the last part interesting is that it's most likely those jedi have never seen a red lightsaber before. Because during the High Republic era, the jedi pretty much ruled the galaxy. Heck, even in The Phantom Menace they were quite shocked to find out about Darth Maul
Takes place during the High Republic, we've only explored this era in books. I believe about 100 or 200 years before The Phantom Menace. (I could be mistaken, but it's somewhere around that long ago.)

this will be like a murder mystery type of show from what I understand, I'm only just now realizing that the acolyte might be someone who just wants to prove to the current sith master in this time that they are worthy to be their apprentice. There are 100 ways this could go, but the sith master could get angry at the acolyte for being so publicly a dark side user (because the sith were living in the shadows for 1000 years at this point since the rule of only 2 siths was created), so this could be a way where they can redeem the "acolyte" (whoever it is), that the sith master could end up hunting the acolyte and because of that they could reconsiders on what side they want to be on and joins the jedi (I think this will be a reva situation, where acolyte ends up joining the jedi but hope they make it in a MUCH better way)
I’m so excited for this, love a dark intriguing mystery show with kick aas action elements! The writer has some crazy deep knowledge of Star Wars history and lore too! Plus the High Republic books are FANTASTIC and the era has so much potential for live-action stories!
This series is certainly intriguing... Since this took place 100 years before episode I we might see a yonger Yoda (not that young, he probably would've been in his 800s here). I don't really know why, but at first, when we first start hearing about this series, I thought we would actually get a Sith as a protagonist and, judging by the trailer, that doesn't seem to be the case, which is kind of a boomer, but that's ok, it looks good and it's very intriguing still. Seeing padawans that young as the main focus is going to be very different of the stuff we've seen in live action, but that does remind me a lot of that arc in Clone Wars with the younglings, Ahsoka and Hondo.
It’s set a hundred or so years before phantom menace during the Jedis prime which is an era a lot of viewers are unfamiliar with; including myself. Definitely intrigued so far.
An acolyte is basically just a word for a young new priest, like being an apprentice, but for religious groups. So this acolyte might just be a young new Jedi following the religious teachings of the Jedi temple. You know, the stuff that Han Solo called a "hokey religion". Or it could be something very different that we might not even know about yet.
"This isn't about good or bad, this is about power and who is allowed to use it". Oh boy, IRL politics getting "subvertly" obviously crammed into another show. Sit down, Grade F, missed the core point of Star Wars entirely. There is a definitive good and bad in this IP. After billions upon billions lost with their last 13 movies, series like Secret Wars, and their streaming service, at some point you think they might learn, but i guess cancelling Cpt. Marvel 3, She-Hulk, Eternals 2 and Ant-Man 4 has no influence on Star Wars. At this point i almost believe the conspiracy that Kathleen Kennedy knows about some skeletons in Disney's closet.
Hi Emme, love your reactions! We don’t know a lot about this series. It is supposed to be a Sith or Dark Side centered show, so I think most people have been assuming the Acolyte is a Sith apprentice. It is set around 100 - 200 years before Episode I. The Jedi in Episode I had no idea the Sith were still around, so this is when the Sith are in hiding. So they have to keep their existence secret from the Jedi, which is probably why the purple cape lady was using knives instead of a lightsaber, and was trying not to use the Force. They don’t want to give away their existence. Other than that, we really don’t know much, which is super exciting!!!
Purple cape may just be a dark Jedi/force user. This show's creator says she's a big fan of the Expanded Universe and wants to adapt most of the pre-TPM lore as accurately as possible so it could be that either Tenebrous and Plagueis are trying to cover their tracks, or that purple cape lady was Tenebrous's first apprentice before Plagueis
In A New Hope Obi Wan Kenobi says to Luke Skywalker on the Millennium Falcon when he's training him with the lightsaber, the visor and the floating practice ball, "Your eyes can deceive you, don't trust them." In the Acolyte trailer the Jedi Master says to the younglings, "Your eyes can deceive you, we must not trust them."
The only thing anyone really needs to know about this, Emme, is that it takes place a hundred years before THE PHANTOM MENACE, as the High Republic is starting to decline. 🌑 Star Wars Holocron and Wookieepedia have told me we've seen 'Mae', 'Sol', 'Qimir', 'Jecki Lon', 'Yord Fandar', 'Vernestra Rwoh', 'Mother Aniseya', the Wookiee 'Kelnacca' and 'Indara' in this trailer. Looks great to me.
We may see Darth Tenebrous as well, perhaps even Plagueis. My guess is that the villain shown in this trailer is not the wielder of the mysterious red lightsaber near the end
This looks awesome hopefully it’s good I don’t know too much about the high republic era hasn’t interested me too much hopefully they make more movies and shows that take place hundred maybe thousands of years prior to the main skywalker stuff

Then they fade away and by the time Han talks to Luke about the Jedi, he doesn't believe the powers, or the Jedi, are even real anymore, and questions if they ever actually were! The Acolyte (whether their intentions are helpful or hurtful) is probably someone who was brought up in the Jedi faith. Now, is the Acolyte the one to save the Jedi from the Jedi hunter? Or are they a former Jedi acolyte who is now hunting them (like Kylo Ren)? Either way, this looks pretty good! Carrie-Ann Moss, who also stars in The Matrix movies, looks pretty good in this one too!
