- Portal: Companion Collection has just recently released, and with it - MANY new Portal 2 beta maps were found to not have been cleaned out of it's files. Thanks to the efforts of the Portal Series Beta Research community, these maps were extracted from the Collection, making this the very FIRST Portal 2 beta leak. I cobbled together this video INCREDIBLY quickly so I apologise if it's not my best work!

This video is very cobbled together and is entirely unscripted, but it does contain every discovery that we have made SO FAR. Just joined, excited for news about early portal 2 development, but I can’t seem to react to the rules message with the proper emote. Is this server for patrons only, is the message archived, and/or is there a role I need to be assigned first? I only have a surface understanding of discord, no clue how the system is operated behind the scenes. Thank you

I REAAAALLY wanna just drive it forward how it's literally a jpeg of a projector. Unlike the "coconut jpeg" tf2 hoax, it is LITERALLY JUST a jpeg renderes from half life model viewer. Amazing.

This has been kinda of the year of the portal series in my point of view, a small prequel demo, a console rerealize, a little news of portal 3 and the lots and lots of cut stuff discovered, leaked from the portal specially, what a time

4:56 this has to have something do to with Wheatley's secret line, there is a trigger at that stiarway to get him to say extra lines (I have a video about it)

The projector JPG was used in conjunction with the HLMV (Half-Life Model Viewer) tool that comes with practically every Source game.
It's just a preview image for a projector model so that developers could easily find models in an icon-based list.
There's no reason for those to be present in a console release since they do not have access to HLMV, so I assume it's just a leftover from the PC versions.
Also noteworthy: In Half-Life 2, the HLMV preview image (JPG) for the energy orb pickups utilize an earlier (2004) version of the model that predates the Orange Box changes made in 2007 which replaces the model with the one used in Episode One.
Why isn't anyone talking about potatOS on the portal gun on demo_underground? This implies she was on your portal gun from the start of tartaros, originally

Eagerly awaiting development on Portal Companion Pack modding so I can play some of the mods on my Switch.
It's no Skyrim but it's funny how they have released this game a bunch of times before now and this still happens.
They...haven't though? It only released on PC, Xbox 360 (twice for Portal 1) and PS3 when Portal 2 came out, the Switch was the first real proper official re-release of these games.

In the files, theres a voiceline for wheatley called "stairbouncepain01" maybe its for the pain feature (or maybe i missed the part where that voiceline plays)
By the way, the projector jpeg is just a remnant from pre-steampipe
