    AEROBIC DIGESTION: (00:00)
    is a process in sewage treatment designed to reduce the volume of sewage sludge and make it suitable for subsequent use. More recently technology has been developed that allows the treatment and reduction of other organic waste, such as food, cardboard and horticultural waste. It is a bacterial process occurring in the presence of oxygen. Bacteria rapidly consume organic matter and convert it into carbon dioxide, water and a range of lower molecular weight organic compounds. As there is no new supply of organic material from sewage, the activated sludge biota begin to die and are used as food by saprotrophic bacteria. This stage of the process is known as endogenous respiration and it is process that reduces the solid concentration in the sludge.
    ANAEROBIC DIGESTION: (05:08)
    Organic waste material (for example food wastes or sewage sludge) is stored in an oxygen free environment (usually a sealed tank or container and commonly referred to as a digester) in the presence of a population of anaerobic micro-organisms.
    In this anaerobic environment, biochemical reactions occur that convert organic polymers from the feedstock into methane rich biogas and nutrient rich digestate.
    Anaerobic digestion works best at temperatures of 30 - 60°C. Between 30 and 40°C, mesophilic bacteria are the principal micro-organisms present. At 40 - 60°C, thermophilic bacteria are used.
    The anaerobic digestion process typically takes anything between 14 and 40 days to complete but this varies upon numerous factors including feedstock type, micro-organism population, temperature and pH
    WHAT TAKES PLACE IN THE ANAEROBIC DIGESTER (07:18)
    Simply animation about what takes place in the anaerobic digester (Process of anaerobic digestion). How Biogas is processed and used for a variety of energy needs, such as the generation of heat, power and fuel.

    Which digested slurry Anaerobic/Aerobic is good for plants. Since plants roots need more oxygen to thrive is Anaerobic good or bad ?

    • @pranjalpatil4926
      @pranjalpatil4926 Год назад

      In aerobic reactions, the main ions produced are hydrogen ions (H+) and hydroxide ions (OH-), as well as ions of nutrients such as nitrate (NO3-), sulfate (SO42-), and phosphate (PO43-).
      In anaerobic reactions, the main ions produced depend on the specific type of anaerobic process. For example, in anaerobic digestion, the main ions produced are hydrogen ions (H+), carbonate ions (CO32-), and bicarbonate ions (HCO3-), as well as ions of nutrients such as ammonium (NH4+), phosphate (PO43-), and sulfide (S2-). In fermentation, the main ions produced are also hydrogen ions (H+) and sometimes acetate ions (CH3COO-), but the nutrient ions produced can vary depending on the specific type of fermentation

    Sir how many days take new biogas plant to produce gas in winter

      depends, there is so many factors which desides this, as you know scraping in winter is slower then in summer, maybe to see this article maybe will help www.wecf.eu/download/2008/Biogascoldclimates_WEB-WECF0608.pdf

      Really? You, beginning with a capitalized letter and ending with your period, in your statement. You complain of incorrect grammar but you packed three sentences in between that capitalized letter and. With no commas. There should have been three qualifiers. There weren't. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to hate on you, I'm just saying that if you were going to be correcting people on grammar, you are to look at your sentence structure. I love you, take care and keep up the fight! E pluribus unum!
