- We just recently went on a Western Caribbean Cruise on the Enchanted Princess. The first port was Cozumel where we decided to grab a taxi and go to Chankanaab National Park. The cost of admission was $29 per adult and $20 per child (4-12). Children 3 and under were free. There were opportunities to swim with manatees and a dolphin encounter. There was also a Sea Lion show and the ability to rent snorkel gear. The price of admission included beach chairs and shade. We were on the Enchanted Princess so we were docked at the Puerta Maya terminal which is the closest terminal to the park. The taxi fare was $30 each way for the 6 of us to get there.

Amanda Perkins thank you so much for this. I was debating on cruising to Mexico with a couple of my grands but your review has convinced me to take the leap. Thanks again.
I'm not sure how old your grands are but my 8 year old and 10 year old loved the itinerary. It was their first time snorkeling which they really enjoyed. If you decide to go I hope you have a wonderful time!
Thanks for the great video Amanda. Looks like you and your family had a wonderful time. My husband and I stopped here on our honeymoon in 1989. Chankanaab was an empty place none of this was here, we rented a moped and toured around as well.
Oh I bet that was so much fun!! Thanks for watching and have a great week!
We loved Chankanaab! My mom found her love of snorkeling here.
So did the boys. That was their first time snorkeling and they love it now.
Hi. Since you only purchased the basic pass. Did they allow you to bring water with you? Were you able to bring snacks? Thanks for the great informative video.
We each had a swell bottle full of water that we took in. I did just have a couple bags of chips and no one said anything to me about them. I’m thinking the price differences were based on whether food from the restaurants were included and the location of your beach chairs. To me I thought the most basic was adequate. Hope you have a great trip.
U explored on ur own??? We r gng this dec. Next month . Same princess cruise. Have no idea can u guide me
So I would caution exploring too far on your own at places that are unfamiliar in Cozumel. We went in June and at that time there were crimes being committed close to the port. What we did was walk to the end of the port area and got a taxi. We knew exactly where we wanted to go so we just got a taxi there and back. There is a chart at the taxi stand that has the fixed price to certain popular areas. You might want to ask the taxi driver if where you are going has plentiful taxis waiting for when you want to return to ship so that you don't run the risk of not making it back to the ship on time. I hope you have a fantastic time on your cruise.
