The acceleration makes the jump seem like he’s going to go up about like 100 feet but in alpine skiing, they go faster. There just isn’t enough time or space for the ski jumper to have the speed accelerate more.
So basically, speed isn’t what matters, once he’s in the air he spreads his legs arms and skis to essentially make himself into a wing, like what a flying squirrel does, then he basically lays down on the air and glides down the hill like a wing Edit - Speed doesn’t matter, and it’s not drag, no offense but you’re all wrong

A ski jumper produces both lift and drag (in fact, lift always induces drag no matter what object it acts upon), and the amount of lift and drag is proportional to the square of the velocity. Never mind the fact that the distance covered also scales with the scale of the launch velocity.

It's normal to switch to the k90 hills when you are 10+. I know several who jumped the k120 hills at 12! I used to skijump, but i sucked, so they never let me onto the k90 hill =(
Do dupy z tym gopro. Przecież to ma taką ogniskowania, że wszystko wydaje się wyżej, dalej itd. To powinna być kamerka 35-50mm wtedy rzeczywiście byłoby wrażenie tego, co widzi skoczek. A tak to ta 90m skocznia wygląda jak mamut.
