A majority of people I encounter can barely safely operate a motor vehicle on the road. I'll be damned if I want to see them flying around over my neighborhood!
Putting the human body into the plane of rotation of the propellers is a HUGE design flaw in terms of deadliness. NEVER take an aircraft design seriously unless they know better than to do that.
Just think of the brutal noise these things must produce. A small commercial drone sits close to 100 dBA. Imagine how a already noisy city sound if these where flying everywhere😅
Well there will be not many left alive to listen all this noise. A swarm of flying chainsaws can reduse population density quite effectively. Go ask trees in the forest, they know...
I’ve flown RC helicopters without the electronic assistance RC helicopters have today. Literally built a flew an RC helicopter with mechanical mixing for year. No pilot training on full scale aircraft of any kind. Sat in a full size helicopter and got it off ground into a hover under guidance of an instructor pilot on board.
The hydrogen electric one is the only one that made sense. Who wants to fly for 15 or 20 minutes. You want something that can fly for hours and batteries will never be that hydrogen is the future not batteries. Battery dumb shifts need to wake up. It's like trying to row a boat with anchors thrown out
A real Blade Runner style roadable VTOL flying car is being developed called the Sky Chaser. It looks and drives like a Can-Am race car, flies both vertically like a drone and horizontally like a plane, and is even amphibian. It has no external wings or rotors and uses the body as a wing. It will be both manual and fully autonomous, and will be powered by a hydrogen fuel cell, giving it hours of range. It is the 1st of it's kind, a real Blade Runner style roadable flying car. See my icon for more information.
@@perfectionist724 It will be an ultralight so no license required but for safety some training will be recommended which might be done at home. It's a new concept ;-) We are teaming with partners so at least a year before a prototype stage.
Does anyone believe that the powers that be will allow anyone to buy and fly one of these without a license? In the UK motorcyclists are made to jump through so many hoops at great time and expense to get a motorcycle licence so this is just bollocks!
I’m all in ….. if they need an inexperienced test pilot to prove concept. It’s more difficult to fly a craft remotely than it is if you are sitting inside of it.
All very good until you get a single engine failure.the blades look to be fixed pitch, also, Exposed to the elements and nature. We have an aircraft licenses and training in order to save lives, just like your car licence if that comes down on a parachute it's still a large unguided missile as you can't predict or control the impact point where it lands.
Man, you can take a head off with those blades. Shouldn't those blades have a housing or a shroud to prevent cutting off body parts when you land and a bunch of human lemmings want to come closer and check out your ride?? I foresee missing body parts when these become available. How does that song go?? Head, shoulders, knees and toes, knees and toes...
No wings... this means if the battery has a hiccup, or any key wire comes loose, you drop to the ground like a rock. No thanks, I'll stick with ultralites and paragliders.
These giant drones are only sort-of aircraft. Why? In the air, you are hanging on the fans. If the fan blades stop for whatever reason, the vehicle will fall like a rock. Much less becoming a glider like a standard winged aircraft losing power, these eVTOLS can't even auto-rotate like a helicopter. An extremely risky concept.
Oh great - more rich people creating noise pollution for the rest of us... A small photo drone can destroy the quiet of a whole mountain valley - so how will these monsters be quiet?
Lots and lots of negative comments. When the motor car replaced the horse you had to have someone walking in front of the car with a flag.. 10 years ago this technology was impossible. In 10 years time these things will be flying for hours.. Patience.
I'm seeing it as a scaled-down version of the V-22 Osprey, only without the wings, with 4 times as many propellors to go wrong, designed and built with about .01% of the design talent and budget, and intended to be flown by people with zero aeronautical training who'd be pitting themselves against some very daunting realities regarding physics, engineering, gravity, and Murphy's Law. I'll pass.
The electric planes are super dangerous. With them everywhere in the air, the chance of getting a close shave is high. They will not be permitted as passenger transport until the safety of bystanders is established by law and the technique is infallible. I doubt that will happen in the near future.
Until Anti Grav technology becomes a full reality, I would`nt want to fly with a Lithium Battery, having seen the devestation these batteries cause in EVs.
Hopefully, they’ll be not so expensive you cannot buy them. So when you going start putting them out in the market? When Russia shoots nuclear missiles at everyone. For that price, we can make our own with solar power and batteries also using the wind for windmills.
You can't have amateurs leaping into the air whenever they want, especially near an airport. How many of these clowns know the Rules Of The Air? New legislation will be needed.
I'm sure people will be real happy with a swarm of chainsaws flying around in our cities. I think it might be a bit safer on the Ukrainian front lines but it's a question of perspective and personal preference I guess?

Not only the pilot is at risk, anyone in the vicinity when landing or take off is at risk, these rotors are just fast rotating knives
Indeed
Don't worry. At the price they go they will never be popular.
If your stupid enough to go near something like this you don’t deserve my oxygen
Color me paranoid but I don’t like being in line with propellers, in the event that they break loose!
"Surround yourself with 8 meat grinders.", they said. "What could go wrong?", they said.
Exactly what I thought.

Awesome.. no potholes
I hope to see these in the skies over the next four years.
Nice compilation. It's funny that at 6:43 and 7:01 the cc renders "crewed" as "crude."
I've seen an advert today for a four birth boat!
When I bought my first drone I crashed it many times. You couldn't pay me enough to get inside one of these things without any training. That's insane

What? No sense of adventure and you want to stay alive?
@@harcosparky That sounds precisely like training
You remember the young american bloke who built one of these around his bath tub and flew it to Maccas in the States.
Love 'em
Give Me one .
Let's make them popular.
Looks like a good explanation for UFO sightings possibly.
Why is there no engine sound? Are they silent motors? I can hear everything ver clearly but no noise from the drone?
When you find out they are as loud as a Hawker Harrier you might want to walk away.
They will be loud as shit
Love these. Most are too loud. Short flight time is a problem.
Nope. Think about the rich idiots that crash their expensive cars doing dumb things. Now take that into the 3rd dimension.
When a responsible and safe driver has a car problem, he has a safe place to sit and wait for the tow truck.
Those have the same glide characteristics of a brick. Power goes off, you die, no do over. Death wish anyone?
How many here has had a computer freeze? Any glitch you die.
They'll never let us fly those things until they can run on an automated system. Think of the potential for mid-air and telephone-line crashes..
They will need a LOT MORE range before I even think about one.
It's the none to minimal training that disturbs me.
How long can it take to train someone to grit their teeth, close your eyes and pray.
Some don’t even have guards on those blades. They are no more than flying blenders.
parachute on a vehicle thats mostly under 500ft?

One does not 'land' on water. One 'Alights'.
95kg limit, what do I do with my other leg ???

❤🇨🇿 Most of these are unrealistic to become mainstream ❤🇨🇿
Ok, that will be around 25 km range . Not much, and a return flight of 12 km . And another big problem is how annoying this must be for neighbours,
id rather see these now then those dam hellcat srt 's all over the place
If one of those props lets go the pieces will rip through the passenger compartment and ruin your whole day.
....... but on the plus side - you could prolly get a job singing soprano......... la laaaaaa
Why can't it just ascend to maximum altitude then use gavity to glide without much needed power, glide technology is already great to use.
This thing would have the same gliding ability as a set of car keys...
There so cool! I want 1. But I can't afford it 😢

Last question do you have to take flight lessons?

"Future" as in about 100-200 years from now. Energy density of batteries is NO WHERE near where it has to be for this having any good range

I want to fly for 10 minutes.. said no one ever
never any mention of noise levels...
The Jetson is great but WAY overpriced! At least bring the price down to that of a nice Harley-Davidson!😀
In your mind only.
Lightning strikes?
Did anyone just hear a buzzing noise?

A very very noisy distørbed future. Tinitus will be included
You could go back and forth to school in it.
I have to do DIET to decrease my wight for long cruise.
Modesta Throughway
Open propellers, very very dangerous. Ducted fans is the way forward.
Twenty minutes, hmm, ten minutes to get there and ten minutes to get back, piss poor even as a hobby!
they didn't seem to mention flight time for zapata jetracer. i wonder why?? because TEN jet engines ??
