One thing I like about this trend is how the second-long clips aren't exactly shocking or crazy like what the character actually is, but it just shows them exhausted, fed up, and hopeless
people will identify more with exhausted, fed up and hopeless women in a calm ambient rather than women having their members sewed off, seeing their family members get killed, dropping an ice cream cone, etc
Men and women suffer through many similar but also many different things, but at the end of the day, both men and women can relate to having characters be literally them
Also-Sophie from Anesthesia, Melinda from Speak, and Ellen from To the Bone. The first one is barely on screen, but of the small glimpses that she is, there's something about her that really hits home..especially the therapy scene. The second-well, she essentially encapsulates a complex bag of anxiety, melancholy and trauma pretty well for me personally. Minus the sexual part. And with the last one-I'm not anorexic, but the overall atmosphere she portrays is kinda resonating.
I’ve recently been introduced to the medium of theater, and one of my first non-musicals plays (and one of my favorites, right up there with Hamilton) that I saw for my class is a recent and underrated play called “The Moors”. Real women are just too rare now. It's all fake for instagram or tiktok. Fake lives, makeup and shit. They do not exist anymore.
