- The Arc de Triomphe, located in Paris, France, is an iconic neoclassical monument that honors those who fought and died for France during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars. Commissioned by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1806, it stands at the western end of the Champs-Élysées. Designed by architect Jean Chalgrin, the arch is adorned with intricate reliefs depicting historic battles and features the names of generals inscribed on its surfaces. Beneath it lies the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, with an eternal flame commemorating fallen soldiers of World War I.
