I think the thing for me personally it The Dark Pool is a top 10 album of all time for me, and while this is good, it doesn't really come close for me.
People being upset that each album sounds different is so wild to me. Variety is 1000000x better than the same old thing rinsed and repeated. Even if some things fail (which they havent so far for Thornhill) it can be the difference between a good band and a decent band.
I do exactly what Johnny was saying at the start, I go to the store one way and come home a different way, same when I go into the town centre haha weird
Mate once you appreciate the different directions they head in knowing it’s not dark pool they’re just fucking incredible on all fronts. Listened to everyday for 3 years now I reckon. Amazing band
Ever since they covered Supermassive Black Hole I can't unhear the Muse influence, which idk if that means they've started to actually sound more like them or if I'm just hearing it now.
I take backroads to and from work, it's just easier than taking the main road and most people are idiots on the road, just like to be cautious when I'm driving!
Nothing but respect for Thornhill experimenting and doing what they want to do, but I have to be honest and say that it's not for me, I didn't enjoy the last album and this is a very similar feel to that record.

Glad they followed on from songs like Raw, Arkangel & Casanova, they were the clear picks from Heroine.

I saw them last night in Bris and all of them were amazing. Thornhill in particular, just wow.
