The future of K-Pop Park Jisung is the only one not in the dancing portions because he was injured, which is depressing because he's one of the main dancers of NCT. However, he's now healthy to dance again, so he'll be in Dream's CB this month.

"Raise the Roof" features all 23 members and the other 3 songs -- which each also have an MV -- feature the members who participate in that track on the album. LOL. No backup dancers are ever used in NCT. They don't need them. NCT 2020 "Resonance" was a special project that NCT did in 2020 to introduce their two newest members. If you remember with "Black on Black" NCT-2018 had 18 members and then in 2019 they introduced 3 new members to the group when they debuted WayV which made the group 21 members strong. And then in 2020 they introduced 2 new members Shotaro and Sungchan. So now NCT has 23 members and Taeyong, the group's leader, now has 22 children to take care of. (Yep everyone you see in this MV is a member of NCT.) When Sunchan and Shotoro were introduced SM said that they would become members of a new NCT sub-unit, so now we are waiting to see who will be a part of the new unit and what the unit's concept will be. in kpop what differentiate idols and back up dancer in their attire. Idols tend to glow up more than the back up dancers, or like the back up dancer will wear a different color than the idols, or they will cover their face with mask to not over shadow the idols. You can see several life performances where the idol group would where a full theme attire dedicated to the performance/ songs, while the back up dancers will wear their full theme but more not-showing-off attire. for example, if idols wear white, the back up dancers will wear black. but sometime, idols and backup dancers also can wear the same color attire, this is where the back up dancer will usually wear mask. and if you notice, *most* of back up dancers tend to not look at the camera, doesn't do their hair and make up (this usually to those temporary back up dancers at award shows) so, in this mv, all of them do their hair and make up, and doesn't covering their face, and eye contact with the camera whenever their eyes meet them, also where the same attire with the center member. so yeah.. NCT is their own back up dancers 😅

Despite the many members, they managed to insert every main mv of the resonance era that I know you’ve reacted to before (Make a Wish, 90’s Love and Work It) plus a b-side track Raise the roof which was their group dance song. The changes that are happening in this mv are literally the most awaited showcase we fans have been anticipating since the 1st full force debut of the Empathy era’s Black on Black has not shown that much of their individuality as in this 2nd full force comeback of NCT as a whole (with Sungchan and Shotaro being added to the team). I sort of gave up acting in order to dance full-time. I taught hip-hop for a little under 9 years during my twenties into my 30s. I still dance, too. My favorite K-pop dances (I know so many at this point) are Idea and Danger by Taemin, Hit by Seventeen for the pure energy and joy of dancing, Kick It and Superhuman by NCT 127, Peek-A-Boo by Red Velvet (creepiest K-pop video on Earth next to married to the music by SHINee), and One Monster and Infinity by SuperM. I’m in the process of learning the Megan thee Stallion verse in Butter by the 3J (minus Jin) by BTS (I can do the reg Butter, but the isolations and small intricacies in this verse are SO DIFFICULT for me! I might post it on Instagram so people can see me falling on my ass for real. Idea kicked my ass too. I have it all filmed, but people can be so cruel, and I’m really sensitive. I don’t mind performing in front of an audience, but keyboard warriors are the worst critics in the world. WayV is their Chinese subunit. Remember the soloist in NCT 2018 and the guy who did the triple spin? That’s our main dancer of WayV and the best dancer in NCT, Ten. He also has a killer vocal and speaks four damn languages. They are all amazing, but Ten is special. That’s why he gets so much screen time during group performances. There are other incredible dancers, but there’s sone thing about Ten. SM sees that (the company NCT is under). NCT U is a completely fluid unit. There’s a different line up every single time. That’s why they put the NCT U 2020 songs throughout Resonance. My dear, it’s not a key change. These are actually different songs, and people says you’ve reacted to them, so you’ve heard them before. This is why they don’t believe you are a true fan. They think you are hopping on the K-pop popularity train for money, and you don’t really care about it. I would say 85% of K-pop fans are STANS. NCT DREAM is the group for the under 20’s/19’s and it used to have a graduation system where once a member turned 19 internationally which meant 20 in Korea then they would join one of the other units but after Mark graduated from the group in 2018 then fans asked for the Dreamies to become a fixed unit and so in 2019 it became a fixed unit and in 2020 Mark rejoined the group and now they have fixed positions in the group
WayV is the third and final fixed unit and they are the Chinese unit and they debuted in 2019 and before they only promoted in China but did do Korean versions for their songs but as of 2020 the members also participate in NCT U comebacks

So say like if NCT U was making a new song, SM can literally grab anyone from any of the other groups and say "Ok, I think you suit this part, your doing it" or somewhere along those lines.

I forgot to mention that Shotaro and Sungchan are the 2 newest members of NCT and they are only in NCT U they are not in a fixed unit And shotaro is Japanese
in kpop what differentiate idols and back up dancer in their attire. Idols tend to glow up more than the back up dancers, or like the back up dancer will wear a different color than the idols, or they will cover their face with mask to not over shadow the idols. You can see several life performances where the idol group would where a full theme attire dedicated to the performance/ songs, while the back up dancers will wear their full theme but more not-showing-off attire. for example, if idols wear white, the back up dancers will wear black. but sometime, idols and backup dancers also can wear the same color attire, this is where the back up dancer will usually wear mask. and if you notice, *most* of back up dancers tend to not look at the camera, doesn't do their hair and make up (this usually to those temporary back up dancers at award shows)
so, in this mv, all of them do their hair and make up, and doesn't covering their face, and eye contact with the camera whenever their eyes meet them, also where the same attire with the center member. so yeah.. NCT is their own back up dancers 😅

NCT consists of 23 members at this point. So, to be able to showcase themselves very smoothly, they needed to chop their parts to be able to let the fans recognize their skills very well. Despite the many members, they managed to insert every main mv of the resonance era that I know you’ve reacted to before (Make a Wish, 90’s Love and Work It) plus a b-side track Raise the roof which was their group dance song. The changes that are happening in this mv are literally the most awaited showcase we fans have been anticipating since the 1st full force debut of the Empathy era’s Black on Black has not shown that much of their individuality as in this 2nd full force comeback of NCT as a whole (with Sungchan and Shotaro being added to the team). Hey Chris, I respect you 100%, I wanted to let you know. I’m a new subscriber, and I need to tell you how serious K-pop fans are about their groups. First, I’ll introduce myself by saying I’ve been dancing for over 30 years, I acted from age 4 to 24, even though I still help out the theaters with which I’ve worked in the past doing up/on or backstage (I can do everything from sound, lighting, to set design if I have to in a pinch). I sort of gave up acting in order to dance full-time. I taught hip-hop for a little under 9 years during my twenties into my 30s. I still dance, too. My favorite K-pop dances (I know so many at this point) are Idea and Danger by Taemin, Hit by Seventeen for the pure energy and joy of dancing, Kick It and Superhuman by NCT 127, Peek-A-Boo by Red Velvet (creepiest K-pop video on Earth next to married to the music by SHINee), and One Monster and Infinity by SuperM. I’m in the process of learning the Megan thee Stallion verse in Butter by the 3J (minus Jin) by BTS (I can do the reg Butter, but the isolations and small intricacies in this verse are SO DIFFICULT for me! I might post it on Instagram so people can see me falling on my ass for real. Idea kicked my ass too. I have it all filmed, but people can be so cruel, and I’m really sensitive. I don’t mind performing in front of an audience, but keyboard warriors are the worst critics in the world. They will call me the N-word for no reason, and I have to wait until I am ready to block that out. Anyway, Have you seen it yet?), Hip by Mamamoo (super fun), this NCT song (resonance) but just the raise the roof part (I already know Make a Wish) among others. I’m not as into girl groups, but Peek-A-Boo by RV is super fun, (as well as How You Like That and As If It’s Your Last by BlackPink) and it has a very unique move in the chorus that really attracted me. K-pop brought back my love of dancing so much. Enough about your new subscriber. Let me tell you why people are getting angry with you.

Whatever you are thinking about that statement times 1000 in your brain, okay? When you say “key change” they got furious, and some unsubbed because they are different songs from NCT U. I’m gonna explain the subunits again, if that’s cool. I really hope you read this because it’s really important if you are going to step into our world, so to speak. It’s about respect. Hell, I know all 23 members of NCT by sight now, and I never thought it was possible. All K-pop artists look nothing alike to me anymore, and I rarely mix anyone up. At worst, I won’t know who someone is, but I never say they are who they are not. (Does that make sense?)
Okay there are 23 members of NCT now. When you saw Black on Black NCT 2018 there were 21. They added 2 new members that don’t have fixed subunits yet, but they were in NCT U songs.
NCT 127 is a fixed unit with 9 (10? 😡) members. One member seems to be only focusing on WayV now, and we don’t know why. We also don’t like it or understand. Oh, remember, NCT members can be in more than one subunit, but it isn’t common.
NCT Dream was meant to be for the younger members with a “graduation” system. The boys would leave the group at 19/20 (international/Korean age), but this hasn’t happened, so we’re assuming this is going to be another fixed group like 127, but with younger members and a younger sound.
WayV is their Chinese subunit. Remember the soloist in NCT 2018 and the guy who did the triple spin? That’s our main dancer of WayV and the best dancer in NCT, Ten. He also has a killer vocal and speaks four damn languages. They are all amazing, but Ten is special. That’s why he gets so much screen time during group performances. There are other incredible dancers, but there’s sone thing about Ten. SM sees that (the company NCT is under).
NCT U is a completely fluid unit. There’s a different line up every single time. That’s why they put the NCT U 2020 songs throughout Resonance. My dear, it’s not a key change. These are actually different songs, and people says you’ve reacted to them, so you’ve heard them before. This is why they don’t believe you are a true fan. They think you are hopping on the K-pop popularity train for money, and you don’t really care about it. I would say 85% of K-pop fans are STANS. They are going to be super angry, unsubscribe, and drag your name through the mud. You do not want to piss off K-pop stans. Seriously, they/(we?) have power. K-pop stans literally (and I NEVER say that word) SABOTAGED a Trump Rally. When you act like this is one fluid song, and not a snippets of NCT U songs that say the names of the songs in the lyrics (and yes, you should have put the subtitles on, but they said “Make A Wish”, “90’s Love”, and “Work It” in English). I just discovered you, so I didn’t know you reacted to some of these songs. The people who do know feel you’ve disrespected NCT.I’m sorry, but K-pop stans are *passionate* as fuck. You must be careful. Might help to look through your list, maybe do a little research before you react to something this big. You are an actor, a singer, a dancer, a husband and father. You are busy. You are getting songs thrown at you left and right…I get it. You are just evaluating these dances, and you may not listen to K-pop in your free time. I dig that, but make one mistake, and a horde of people are ready to throw hands.
