Great breakdown as usual. The lack of a decent ip rating is the killer for me here in Ireland, since rain is our constant companion. Same drawback for the infinibars (especially for their price).
Have been using multiple of the T4c for almost a year. THEY. ARE. FANTASTIC. And they've revolutionized how we light. But I think you've missed the most important advantage of the separate battery T4c: It is a perfect lightsaber. :) Wonderful reviews, I love your content. Helps a lot. Greetings from the other side of the world.
Hi Andrew, thank you for the hard work you put into all of your videos and the value you have for all of your viewers. Especially I wanna thank you for finally taking a look at these two options from Amaran. Your opinion on any lighting equipment is always so important for me because you really test everything and speak openly about the slightest flaws. Unfortunately my experience with the T series was really bad because the battery grip mounting system is or was not that durable. Let me explain: I had to send one of my T2cs with a broken locking mechanism in for repair after I bought it in October 2022 and used it only a couple of times. After three months of contact with anon-reachable customer service here in Europe received actually a completely new one (after three months) and then I discovered in direct comparison to my second original and still functioning T2c that they have changed the mounting system a little bit and it felt a lot more durable with less wiggle and flex. In your video you clearly had the second and fixed implementation but I find it ridiculous that Aputure sends the flawed first version to their customers, then it breaks and then they have such a bad customer service that you wait months for the replacement even though they obviously know about the first gen issue. We all know that you have a good contact with Aputure and I would just like to know what their comment is on that this situation because I basicly felt scammed. Have you heard anything about this issue? Thank you so much once again!
Do the PT2c and PT4c have “studio mode” like some of the other Amaran an Aputure lights? I know it has a built-in battery but it’d be nice to be able to trigger it on and off when it receives power via USB-C for studio setups. Are you aware if this function is in there?
Wow, I've never seen such a thorough review of Amaran lights. Thanks for all your hard work! Subscribed immediately after watching this video. Keep up the great work!
I got to use the T4c a few times on set. I feel like these fixtures could have been released under the Aputure line. I think I still prefer the design of the SGC tube lights over the Amaran ones though. And they both work with Sidus Link.
I have some lights with DMX over USB-C with a power pass through, and what I did to simplify cable clutter was get a 2 meter USB-C extension cable, that way rather then having 3 wires running to the light I just have one and I can keep the cable clutter away from where the light is.
I found that not all Amaran tube lights render the same color in HSI mode (tested several T2C and several T4C). I was a little bit disappointed, but still happy that this products now exist for this amount of money. Will the Infinibars hold the color accuracy within units?
@@creativegreatsvisuals to many variables for me to answer that. It depends if the light is on a wall or hanging directly down. It also depends on the metal that the magnet is attaching to. On my garage door I felt safe with two
I've owned the T-seires tubes for a while now, not sure if its just me but the batteries seem to never hold their charge. I always have to re-charge the batteries even if I haven't used them for a couple days.
I'm missing a summary at the end and comparison to PavoTube II. I appreciate the tests You do, however less technical summary is what I would like to hear from You. Thanks anyway, greate content
11:46 I noticed that yours has what looks like a bolt that secures the locking mechanism of the battery on the tube side of the light. I have 4 4ft tubes and 2 2ft tubes. None of my tubes have that and I have always felt that that is a weak spot in the lights. Infact, some of mine wobble. Do all of your T4c lights have that bolt?
I’m rainbow effect how come I can’t see the rainbow in camera . In camera it just looks like a solid color . I changed fstops and all using the Panasonic s52
he already talked about all the advantages of each other and the light rendition, battery, etc compared to each other extensively... They were very detailed. What the one has over the other would be the negative for the one that don't have it. What else do you need ?
The non pixel unit has the one spot that I would not like to hand hold from, but nothing that worries me too much. The PT series which I kept after the review seems to be cool operating.
@@gaffergearwhat do you think of the pt4 and pt2 ? Do they flicker in high frame rates 60fps and 120fps ? Any issues reported with the amaran pt series ?
the out put in CCT range is very low for this form factor. Also plastic vs metal house for infinibar. The PT series seemed made for content creators and not for professionals.
These reviews are some of my favorite content on RUclips. Thanks for all you do Andrew!

I would have sold my sister to have a light saber when I was a kid.
👏🏾👍🏾🙏🏾 Love the extra tip for finding the center of balance of a tube!😎

It'd be nice to know which type of battery cells inside, panasonic? samsungs? or unbranded which don't last long before their cycle is over.
I flippin' love this channel. So informative.
Love it. Looking forward to your thoughts and comparison to the Aputure Infinibars!
Thank you so much for making this one , I've been on the fence and waiting for this review 👍 Appreciated
Hi Andrew, are you planning on doing any videos with the INFINIBARS?

16:40 wow those clamps are terrifying
thank you for this great in depth test!!!
Fantastic review and walk-through as always! 👏🏻
just a word of caution, if you buy the single pt4c tube, you don't get the stand or the dmx cable
Thanks for pointing that out
Yea the accessories are nice and neatly arranged with their own pouches with Velcro .
I was hoping a review for lightsabers, that thumbnail is great
Great review. Love the balance tip on the non-pixel tube with a battery😊
Is the T4c bright enough to use as a hair light? Ive been considering the quasar tubes as well
