We used to get the whole cafeteria to sing John Kanaka at church camp every summer! We did the percussion with cups 😂

I have been trying for years to find music similar to Bottom Feeders and I finally have! Most "Celtic Rock" or "Celtic Punk" music I found was missing the special sauce of the fiddle, and the few that actually had the fiddle were missing something else, but this is exactly what I was looking for.

Hey captain I was just wondering why volume one and two have disappeared for me. They where some of my favorites. This is still great though.

Since you're into folk, might I interest you in the songs of my people?
When you think "brazilian folk", I bet you think about Samba or MPB. In fact Brazil is a big country and some regional traditions don't get the spotlight. Let alone Gaucho music, which despite being widespread throughout the country, especially in rural areas, is more aligned culturally with Argentinian and Uruguayan music, specifically the Pampas region where nomadic cattle herders birthed the Gaucho culture some 300 years ago. These songs are all modern compositions, but they borrow heavily from spanish culture.
It's usual instruments are the spanish guitar and the acordion, sometimes followed by the contrabass and rarely with violas, violins and 12 string guitars.
A Chamamé is a dancing rythm, so it's usually 3/4 Aor 4/4 tempo. It originates from Argentina.

A Milonga is a fast paced listening rythm, common for street artists. Also borrowed from Argentina.

Nativist music is a more modern incarnation. Though it sings about aspects of life in the pampas.
