Group of 3 near me during FNAF were their phones and talking the entire time, 10 minutes into the movie when they still hadn’t stopped talking after the previews were over someone from a few rows above threw their popcorn down at them. I saw them complain to a staff member after the movie was over and while she was talking, I told a staff member that they deserved it because they were talking the whole time and that if they find out who did it to let me know so I could pay for the popcorn that they threw.
Cuisinart makes a really nice popcorn maker where you use oil, and it can make the theater grade stuff. It also costs the same as five or six large popcorns.
I just went to see a quiet place day one in a theater. This was my first time going since before the pandemic. I hated it. people on their phone scrolling on tiktok, talking to their partners, eating popcorn with their mouths open, etc.
I’ve managed a theatre for 3 years and here’s the scoop. When I see movies I’ve never had an issue beyond a phone here and there. However that’s cause I was seeing movies on off-times that theatres get chillin people. If you go 1. On a discount day, expect a full theatre and chances are u have a shithead there for them. 2. Going to a movie at 6-7 o’clock pm every night is busiest, another ‘chances are’ scenario. 3. Going to a movie that generally appeals to 13-24 age range dupicates the possibility of trash experience by a small bit and finally, going to a movie that’s R-rated late at night at a location that doesn’t enforce 17Y/o policy multiples the chances x10. Still if you’re seeing (opening weekend) an R rated movie at 10:00pm on a discounted night about 20-30% of screenings are going to end up with a legitimate complaint worth being angry about.
Don't they have disclaimers after the commercials to turn off your phone on the theatre? Or maybe they just say turn off the sound of your phone? My dad is a business owner and he won't have his goddamn phone turned off at the cinema because he's so paranoid if he missed something from work.
I go to the theaters pretty often, and Iv never experienced people being annoying during the movie, whether it’s talking or on their phone, I love going to the theaters, ig it’s just a location thing
ngl im guilty of having my phone out usually if its a movie i was dragged to that doesnt even interest me lol but i had the courtesy to turn the brightness down because 1 i dont need it so bright in a a dsrk room and2 i didnt wanna bother anybody
You had a point with the phones and the talking, but everything else is petty complaining. If a person moves in a chair, which they're bound to do in two hours, its going to make a sound. Eating popcorn quietly, or gummies and things, is difficult. Opening then is loud enough that I try to do it during the previews. And people reacting to movies? Am I really going to begrudge the guy who felt one character got slighted for decades reacting to a scene they put in specifically for him? Laughing at an M&Ms commercial? Who gives a damn about the commercials? I don't give two shits what anyone does in a theater before the movie. I expect people to be quiet within reason and off their phones the second the movie we paid for starts.
lol, I go w/ my cousin a lot , he munches popcorn with a rhythm it becomes so irritating: crunch, chew chew chew.....crunch chew chew chew, crunch chew chew chew. Slow down bro you'll choke!!
I couldn't agree more, I had Blade Runner 2049 and the newest Dune movie ruined for me because of inconsiderate people. The moment I was able to stream it, I was able to actually watch it, rather than just getting distracted by people who don't care and clearly shouldn't have been in the same room to begin with...
This is why I always went to the movies really late(9pm or 10pm) or really early(8am to 9am) a week after the movie releases. There is basically no one there except a single digit number of people.Thankfully I'm still able to avoid most spoilers
The last time I went to a theatre, I had a family of 6 behind me talking all the way through the film, and the twatty mother had a go at me when I turned to glare at the noise. 🤷🏻♀️
Instead of twelve minutes of unconstructive bitching, why not create a critique of theaters that offers constructive feedback? The amount of negativity in your video is unwarranted for something so insignificant. I agree with the person who mentioned the situation in Ukraine, you're overreacting. Maybe the people in the theater haven't actually changed, but instead you and your expectation that all people act as you see fit have.
@@filmrebel People are people and will shockingly always act like... people, imperfect and flawed. Expecting everyone in the world to act the way you see fit is an unrealistic goal and you will always be let down. You live in the USA, a melting pot of a country. Different cultures and different backgrounds have different perceptions about what is or isn't polite and acceptable. I can agree with many of your points, but in the end you have two options, you can whine about it on RUclips and live a life of negativity that is a turn off to the people around you, or you can make an effort to enjoy things despite them not always going your way. It sounds like you prefer to isolate yourself in your house watching movies, which sounds pretty depressing to me. Life's better shared and positive.
@@connorf6281 Wait a second, you're telling me that you wouldn't feel depressed and scammed after paying 15-25 dollars to watch a movie but instead got a bunch of degenerates around you talking and screaming for almost 2 hours? Yeah, no thanks...I'd rather spend that money on a pizza or takeout and stream something at home with my girlfriend or friends. There's plenty of time to socialize in other ways by going out. The movies are not the beach, a nightclub, house party or a sporting event.
Hearing you voice every point that I have been thinking was cathartic. Thank you, Film Rebel!

This is the only "random small channel" that youtube's algorithm has hit me with that I've been drawn to at all. Great stuff.

My brother in law can’t go 20 MINUTES without looking at his phone during a movie. I stopped going to movies with him.

Sometimes they release online B4 theaters (FNF 1 day Peacock) or practically all trailers & online stuff assembled = entire movie ex. Flash

Meanwhile Barbie still has yet to released on Max.
i dont think movie theaters will go away entirely but yea something needs to change with how they run things
snack prices are a crime

my brother has no movie courtesy whatso ever when were not at a theater
As someone who goes 2 - 3 times a week... I wholeheartedly disagree.
Nearly every single one of these issues can be chalked up to "You Live in LA." Not the that the theater experience sucks as a whole XD
You liked Robyn Hood you have low standards
@@filmrebel slander! I didn't not like Robyn Hood 😂 I said it was better than Ahsoka. That's not a high bar lol.

Movie theaters be charging way to much. Your thoughts on the new trailer for the “slasher” horror movie Thanksgiving?

This is so true with very good points about the theater & home experience.

Don’t glare at people if you’re not prepared for more bad behavior
I hate to admit it but ur right…
Cultural decay is a real thing…
We need an indie film revolution
Yeeeaahhhh I’d rather just watch movies at home
Please, would someone think of the starving children in Africa!!! Oh you were just complaining about obnoxious people on theatre?

Yes how dare I expect people to act with manners. Who cares about people being rude when there's starving kids in Africa
