Some modern toners are now formulated differently. Once printed, they are not softened or dissolved by acetone. This even applies to some refilled toner cartridges. Check first to see if acetone destroys the print on some pages from your printer.
After etching my board, trying to remove the toner with acetone was useless. So yeah this xfer method won't work, and why do it anyway, an iron does the job, but frankly the traces are spotty in all I've done. Perhaps melting the toner off would work?
@murraymadness4674 oh sweet soooo....the fact I've been learning all this stuff and bought stuff to try has been pointless. Good to Know. 😡. I will try printing some on whatever and see if acetone will soften the toner.
I had better results using the backing paper of vinyl signs - you can pick that up for free from vinyl sign stores. Either 3M scotch brite or Arlon works pretty well.
This method the toner transfer is the best and most professional but some difficult and need more time.. But than other methods can get most professional and good quality pcb... Than uv or other..
Yes, with good printer and good glossy paper one can get really good looking, almost professional PCB. It is a bit difficult with tiny tracks, but I found it difficult with UV foil also.
solvent strongly smells unpleasant, it is better to use nail polish remover, it smells nice and translates the drawing well. When the liquid dries, it is necessary to moisten it abundantly with isopropyl alcohol and then carefully remove the paper.
Hi and Thank's for your video. NOT GOOD at all: It's too dry: you should take the paper off when it is still wet of solvant because the toner re-sticked on the board by drying. If you do so you'l just have to brush at least with a wet sponge one pass. The way you do : many paper's fibers remain and it will lead to short thought between small tracks and lack of precision. Kind regards.
It is glossy paper from some catalogues or magazine, but I even used regular printing paper. The most important is to print with good printer and quality toner.

These videos are great at showing how to etch a board but how do you get from a schematic to the layout drawing?

@@Delphipracticalschool How can I tell if my printer is a laser printer?
will this work for inkjet printers??
unfortunately, no.

Buy Acetone (dimethyl ketone).
What paper di d u used? a common paper?
