    Interviews recently are all by teams. So its impossible to do an office tour.

    • @Harvey_Emerson
      @Harvey_Emerson  24 дня назад

      Good point! So many companies are still utilising online interviews, guess it’s a lot easier. From what I’ve seen, many companies will invite candidates for an office tour during a second interview if the first was a remote interview 🙌

    What if you got only one or two of the signs mentioned here?

    • @Harvey_Emerson
      @Harvey_Emerson  27 дней назад +1

      Great question, thanks for commenting!
      Noticing any of these signs in an interview is promising, and will hopefully give you reassurance that the interview went well (or at least better than you first thought!).
      Even if you aren’t successful for a role, noticing some of these signs will show that you delivered a good account of yourself, showing you’re on the right lines and that an offer will be coming soon with future interviews 🙌
      Hope this helps, and if you have a moment please consider subscribing as I will be uploading another video soon on signs an interview didn’t go well!

    My 3rd round was on the 19th last week. I was told from the Director and the Senior Dev that I'd hear back with a decision "Early next week". As we are approaching mid-week (the 26th) I have been thinking about drafting a follow-up email or call tomorrow morning.
    What does anyone think the best action would be? Stay silent? Follow-up email first thing in the morning? Give the Corporate Recruiter a follow-up call?
    Thanks for any advice ~~

      Hi there! Thanks for your comment, firstly congrats on making it through to the third round! Regardless of the outcome, that clearly shows you’re a strong interviewee to get through that many stages.
      I would recommend following up, as you want to showcase that you’re still interested. It is worth giving the recruiter a follow up call, and then send an email to reinstate what you said on the phone.
      I wouldn’t normally advise sending too many follow ups within earlier rounds, but by the sound of it you have invested significant time In this company. Showing that you’re still interested and engaged with the hiring process even at later stages will show green flags for the interviewers.
      I hope this helps and fingers crossed you hear good news! As I’ve said in other comments on this vid, there are many possible reasons why you haven’t heard yet. Good luck 💯

    Had an apprenticeship interview and I’m a little confused and concerned, was asked one technical question to which I had to say “I don’t know”, but I was also given a tour first thing and intros to everybody, as well as asking about where I live and how I’ll commute and my availability to work, also let me ask questions and the interview went on for an hour, told me about the next steps & how they’d get back to me by Friday and about my final round interview and I got along well with both interviewers often laughing with them at some points, however I’m still very concerned that I won’t be able to get the job as they never brought up salaries or company values nor did they try to sell me on the job and I’m worried that in spite of the good signs that these bad signs might outweigh it :(

      Hi! Thanks for your comment 🙌
      From what I’m reading, that sounds like a very positive interview and whilst it’s easier said than done, try not to overthink it! It’s reassuring that they’ve mentioned a final round interview, as they probably wouldn’t bother discussing this if they’re not interested. They could be saving talks about salary in the next round!
      It’s funny, I actually had a very similar experience when I applied for my apprenticeship position! I had a second interview and salary wasn’t discussed until the end of that meeting. If you are counting more positives than negatives after, that is a really good sign!
      In your final interview, I would recommend really highlighting how interested you are in the position and the company in the long term as companies are looking to mould apprentices and look after them over the long run. If you can show this in your interview you could be on to a winner!
      I always say, even if you unfortunately don’t get this role, a positive interview will always be good experience for when the next opportunity becomes available. In future interviews you will be going in with experience 🙌
      Sorry for a massive reply, but hope it goes well! Please keep me updated if you remember, it would be great to know 💯

    Is it really true that if you don't hear back within 2-3 days, you're most likely not going to get the job as there're better candidates than you? I had a recent interview which I think was pretty average and I think I could have answered at least some of the questions much better and he rarely asked any follow up question. When I asked questions about the role and next steps, the interviewer gave very specific details around the role expectation and talked about my involvement in the next round which specific people I'm going to talk to. A bit confused now as there're mixed signs.

    • @Harvey_Emerson
      @Harvey_Emerson  18 дней назад +1

      Great question. By the sound of it you had a very positive interview, especially if they’re talking about the next round!
      There are many reasons why there could be delays in getting an update to you, so maybe don’t read too much into it (although I appreciate this is definitely easier said than done!). For example, if the company has other candidates to see that may be over the next couple days, they’d likely wait until they’ve seen all candidates before giving you an update. Or they could be discussing and agreeing next steps and waiting to confirm. Sometimes no news is good news!
      As I’ve said in other videos, even if you unfortunately don’t get an offer this time, having a good interview is great experience regardless. It will make you more confident in the next one! As one door closes another opens 🙌
      Sorry for the massive comment, but please let me know how it goes!

    Why is every video as if you are getting an office job ?

    • @Harvey_Emerson
      @Harvey_Emerson  27 дней назад +2

      Hi Mark, thanks for your comment! My bad the stock footage is probably way too office focused! 😅 Although I would say that all the points here would still relate to any other interview process, from construction to engineering to agriculture etc. Of course the only difference from the vid would be a factory/site tour instead of an office.
      I can definitely make that clearer in future videos though so thank you 🙌

      They gave all the positive things you mentioned, also showed me their office tour. But they told they will call me in a week. Now even after me sending a follow up email a week later, they didn't respond me.

    • @Harvey_Emerson
      @Harvey_Emerson  19 дней назад +1

      @@smackyou4586Okay, by the sound of it you’ve delivered a great interview, which is definitely not easy. See what the verdict is, they could just be weighing up options!
      Good idea following up, maybe if you still haven’t heard within a few days then give them a call to show your interest. I’d be careful of overdoing it, so an email and a call/second email is a good option.
      There are lots of reasons for why they’re delaying a response, but sometimes no news is good news and you will find out soon enough. If it does end up unsuccessful, I’d suggest you ask for feedback. If you’re receiving all these signs, you will no doubt have an offer coming soon! One door closes another opens 🙌
      Sorry for the info overload, but hope it goes well and this helps!
