Awesome stuff! That’s wild to learn that such an important piece was missing from your original set back in the day! 😮 (This is a long shot, but if you find that you *don’t* want to keep that sticker sheet, I’ll buy it off of you! I’m always looking for more Alpha Team stickers for the upcoming series I’m working on). 👀
No joke. This video honestly made my entire week better. So I thank you greatly for this. Also unrelated note. I do have the alpha team clock, so hit me up. I made my own knockoff Slugger youtube reintroduction with it (and a microphone that buzzes like a drive thru speaker).
In 2011 I got the the Ninjago skull truck for Christmas and to my horror, it was missing one of the pieces needed to make the teeth of the skull on the truck's front. To this day, any time I can't find a piece while building a lego set I fuckin' ratatouille back to being eight years old building that set at my grandparents' house and pray that history shall not repeat itself. Funnily enough, in 2021 I got Zane's Titan Mech for Christmas, and again decided to build it while at my grandparents' house. One of the bags had torn during packaging, resulting in the set missing numerous crucial pieces needed to build the right leg. The fact that the only two sets I've gotten that were ever missing parts were predominantly white Ninjago sets that I got for Christmas and built at my grandparents' place exactly ten years apart has to be some sort of cosmic joke. Hope you continue with the channel, the production quality is great and enjoyable as always!
I bought the legacy version of the Boulder Blaster in 2021, it was discounted because the box was torn, but instead of pieces missing, it contained an extra piece, a heavily scratched 1x8 plate in old dark gray.
I love this kind of lego reviews. No unified script or going through the same points to give the score. Just a genuine video with soul, about a toy from childhood with some pleasant commentary
Wow, this was a phenomenally produced video, genuinely thought this was a channel with years of content under its belt with how polished this was. I absolutely can’t wait for more!
dude, please cover more old lego sets. showing pics of alpha adventure unlocked some memories for me. Memories that include looking at the sets in the little catalogues that came with lego sets. never got to but alpha team. I did have one artic adventure and one not indiana jones one. honestly just cover obscure old sets.
You know how people have the Bionicle dream? I keep having the dream where I find an intact #6776 and it opens my third eye. Love all the builds and dioramas in the video.
For some reason, I always found it funny that Ogel’s minions went from skeletons in evil henchmen costumes to indoctrinated LEGO citizens in evil henchmen costumes in the PC game.
Sorry to hear about your set with the missing part. If only you'd known you could have just contacted the company and they'd have sent you a replacement! When I was a kid I got a Fright Knights set, a little horse drawn carriage, and it was missing one of the wagon wheels. Also a very important part. I complained and my parents were able to call the company and they sent me the part. So while it was disappointing initially, they really earned my respect and loyalty by being helpful. Later on, I even had an instance where I had the Galaxy Squad Vermin Vaporizer, and I managed to lose the trans-blue minigure shield piece that goes with the robot figure. I contacted LEGO customer support, and admitted I lost the part and was just asking if I could buy another one somehow. They just sent me another one, no questions asked. I think they sent me two, actually. I need to go check because I think I ended up with a couple.
Didn't you contact LEGO directly when you caught the missing piece? Even back in the 90's, when one of my BURPs arrived half molten, they sent me a proper replacement without a fuss. I can't imagine customer service would've been any less excellent in 2001.
Not bad for a first video. Good sense of humor, good timing, and I learned something new about Alpha Team. Oh, you're a gamer and you have a bunch of gaming videos. So you've been honing your skills all this time. Nice!
While I'm glad that the tragedy of... um, 6772 had a happy ending after 23 years, it does feel bittersweet knowing that it all could've been resolved with just a single phonecall to LEGO's customer service back in 2001. I remember my 4708 Hogwarts Express (released the same year) was also missing a piece, and LEGO very quickly shipped us a replacement part free of charge. 4:06 This color-coded feature actually returns in Mission Deep Freeze and isn't just limited to the first wave of sets! It's a shame that it was missing from Mission Deep Sea, though. I agree that it ties the team's vehicles together in a simple yet effective manner. 5:16 Fun fact, this alternate model is officially called the "Hydro Racer" and once had official instructions posted on the LEGO website's "You Build It!" page. Unfortunately, Wayback Machine did not archive these instructions.
Dude, this was the very first Lego set I've ever had in my life!!!!!!! I couldn't remember the series name or what kind of vehicle was it for all these years, thanks A LOT for this video!
Immerdiately thought of RR Slugger when watching this and it turned out great! Foudn you through your main channel and this one got recommended to me today. Love the creativity you put into your videos and I hope this becomes a long lasting series! Thsi video made my day, keep up the good work :)
I’ve really enjoyed sluggers style and seeing others take to it is wonderful!. Also the obo-bot design is so cute 😭. I’m excited to see more from you man, have a great day!
I had a few Alpha Team sets including the one in your video.... over 20 years ago... I didn't cry but i'd love to haha thank you so much for brining in those memories! downloading the PC game right now, hopefully it will work
Thank you for solving this long-standing mystery for me about the Ogel Lair's connection to 9/11. I had always thought that the offending imagery was related to the play feature where the Alpha Team can knock down Ogel's tower. Give that Ogel's tower bore no resemblance to the Twin Towers I didn't understand the sensitivity towards the set. The existence of the comic panels on the box art showing the plane flying towards the urban skyline makes much more sense.
Alpha Team is, in my opinion, one of the coolest Lego themes. I was always sad that I never managed to get the majority of the sets, but.. well, I was 12, and Star Wars was there, so the limited amount of things I could pester my parents to get me went to that. It was actually some years later, way down the road, that I found the one set from the first year that I actually got. It was in a forgotten bottom shelf corner of the Lego section in a ToysRus, and long enough after the fact that when I took it to the checkout, they didn't have it in their computer system any more, so they made up a price that was about 40% the retail price. And that's why I have Ogel's Control Center! Sadly that's the only first wave set I've got. And I've only got one from the second wave too. (Mutant Killer Whale) Did manage to get a few from the Deep Freeze wave though.
I bought a used set 6776 and instructions off of eBay sometime around 2010. Weirdly, the instructions included the original comic with Ogel attacking the city so I had no idea about this switch-up. The set itself however was missing quite a few pieces (some being swapped with similar Mega Bloks pieces) that I only recently got around to replacing a couple years ago.
Before I even got to the comment section let alone the end of the video I was feeling heavy slugger vibes and was all here for it. Definitely do a collab with slugger one day and I look forward to seeing more content!
When I was a kid I bought one of those Gundam-looking sets, Exo-nauts or something, and ended up getting two left pauldrons instead of a left and right. I emailed LEGO and they responded promptly to apologise and explain that they even weigh each set that comes off the line (of course the pauldrons weigh the exact same because they're just mirrored, so that's how this error slipped through, but it was still interesting). But more importantly they happily express mailed me a replacement part, no questions asked, free of charge. Pretty amazing customer service.
Wow man. What a slap of nostalgia. Totally forgot about this game. I had a similar experience. No idea what was going on but I played it quite a bit anyway.
I used to watch my sister play the PC game alot and actually kinda got into the lore, can't really remember the sets though. Personally I'd love to see an updated revamped modern Alpha Team theme, Radia needs her ponytails and Hidden Side was proof that hats with purple hair can be done, but it was at the very least nice to see the old set complete and built with all the pieces.
I bought all the OG and Deep Sea Alpha Team minifigures off Bricklink piece by piece, and I got secondary bodies to do more modern reinterpreted versions of each character. Was my favorite theme at the time and I never got the sets beyond just one of the smaller ones. In my head canon, Alpha Team may be a superhero fighting team or whatever, but the shenanigans that go on at the home base is stupidity that you'd only see in shows like Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
Slugger, Battle Peak, Paleozoic Bricks, and now you my dear friend, had joined the world of lego stopmotion reviews. Hope to see you soon agent Obo. (WARNING, after reading the comment, this messege will self-destruckt in 3... 2.. 1... 💥)
I had a whole bunch of the Mission Deep Freeze sets when I was a kid, but somehow didn't even know the first two waves had _existed_ until quite a while later! I like the aesthetic of the older Alpha Team more tbh. Deep Freeze had too many of what R.R. Slugger would call "plague parts" for my liking. I loved the "transformation" play-features all the sets had, though, and the mobile command center was one of my favorite "big" sets at the time!
Definitely the most tragic event of 2001
Clearly you didn't see freddy got fingered
Seriously? You must be joking, you forgot about the Argentine great depression
Never forget
Dale Earnhardt died that year
@@SegwayBosski forgot sorry
alpha team 9/11 is such an insane bit of lego lore i had no idea about
i knew subscribing to this channel would pay off some day
Awesome stuff! That’s wild to learn that such an important piece was missing from your original set back in the day! 😮
(This is a long shot, but if you find that you *don’t* want to keep that sticker sheet, I’ll buy it off of you! I’m always looking for more Alpha Team stickers for the upcoming series I’m working on). 👀
I'd love to see a crossover with you two someday!
The long awaited Alpha team retrospective coming soon?
Oh hey Slugger! Fun to see you here! :)
you guys should collab or something
Love u slugger!
Tragedy...? 2001...? Ah you must be talking abou-
*ALPHA TEAM WILL PREVAIL!*
No joke. This video honestly made my entire week better. So I thank you greatly for this.

the fact thath ogel planned to attack new york in 2001 was WILD.
I love this kind of lego reviews. No unified script or going through the same points to give the score. Just a genuine video with soul, about a toy from childhood with some pleasant commentary
yoooo mini Oboebot is clean as hell!
Wow, this was a phenomenally produced video, genuinely thought this was a channel with years of content under its belt with how polished this was. I absolutely can’t wait for more!
I'm so sorry you had to experience that tragic event. I didn't realise the level of privilege I had receiving both jet canister things.
Yo bro, didn't know you were into Legos like that. Don't be afraid to focus on this channel, Legos are frickin sick.
dude, please cover more old lego sets. showing pics of alpha adventure unlocked some memories for me. Finally, some oboeshoesbricks content!
oboeshoes doing the RR slugger format is not something I was expecting to see. neet
You know how people have the Bionicle dream? I keep having the dream where I find an intact #6776 and it opens my third eye.
Love all the builds and dioramas in the video.
love the minifigs in the background during credits up to shenanigans. reminds me of zero punctuation's credit gags
Love to see another RUclipsr giving early 2000s Lego some love.
Flex dead at 4:08 killed me. I didn’t expect that at all.
Such horror! I did not expect it either, though i admit doing lego decapitations myself...
These sets remind me of time cruisers in the sense that it seems like they were trying to get rid of pieces from old lego sets
Def looking forward to some more R. R. Oboebot content! Keep it up!!
For some reason, I always found it funny that Ogel’s minions went from skeletons in evil henchmen costumes to indoctrinated LEGO citizens in evil henchmen costumes in the PC game.

I'm getting large RR slugger vibes here... A very good thing
I posted that before he admitted to just ripping off the slug
Loving the RR Slugger DNA in this content, i mean that as a compliment.
Let’s go! It’s about time oboeshoes started a Lego channel. Next stop four hour bionicle deep dive!
So happy to see the new channel, finally a Legotube channel I can get behind!
Wait a minute…this isn’t the RR Slugger RUclips channel.
Peak new channel recommendation; loved the editing and humor, keep up the great work! (Also mini oboebot crying was so relateable )
I’m so glad Oboe finally found the password to this channel again
Didn't you contact LEGO directly when you caught the missing piece? Even back in the 90's, when one of my BURPs arrived half molten, they sent me a proper replacement without a fuss. I can't imagine customer service would've been any less excellent in 2001.
He finally made a Lego channel.
Oboe be like "I'm bricking, i'm bricking"
I hope you continue to make videos just like this one. The story/memories behind the build is awesome!
Looking forward to future uploads dude, killer editing and fantastic amount of research for a niche older set!
Not bad for a first video. Good sense of humor, good timing, and I learned something new about Alpha Team.
Oh, you're a gamer and you have a bunch of gaming videos. So you've been honing your skills all this time. Nice!

Never Forget.
The missing pieces from the Lego Alpha Team set.
P.S. baby Oboebot is adorable.
I have 0 interest in Lego but this is like the most passionate I've hear oboe in a minute
Also the pacing and writing is top notch
From the first 5 second of your first video I can already tell that this is going to be a great new LEGO channel.
Fantastic video. Really looking forward to seeing more from your channel! Side note, really love that brick built Jens head!
Great review! I'm glad to see you got both pieces this time. I love Alpha Team!
As much as I enjoy your Gaming Adventures, this is such excellent watching! Loving all the videocraft, research and wonderful photography!
Dude, this was the very first Lego set I've ever had in my life!!!!!!! I couldn't remember the series name or what kind of vehicle was it for all these years, thanks A LOT for this video!
Awesome editing on this one love how many talented video makers their are making Lego videos these days 😊
Sick to see you starting a bricks channel, looking foward to more!
WAIT THAT WAS YOUR FIRST VIDEO EVER?! It was amazing. I subscribed and I am waiting for more! :)
Immerdiately thought of RR Slugger when watching this and it turned out great! Foudn you through your main channel and this one got recommended to me today. Love the creativity you put into your videos and I hope this becomes a long lasting series! Thsi video made my day, keep up the good work :)
oh my gosh… i am SO excited for the future of this channel
I’ve really enjoyed sluggers style and seeing others take to it is wonderful!.
Also the obo-bot design is so cute 😭. I’m excited to see more from you man, have a great day!
I hated LEGO stickers because small dumb child me could never get them on properly
I always had my big brother put the stickers on things.
Big dumb adult me could still never get them on properly unless I whip out my tools
Awesome start for the channel!
10:30 Heck yeah, an Alpha adventure deep under Team.
Whoo! Good stuff. I'd love to try my hand at this sort of video too in time. Keep 'em coming!
awesome! i love lego vids like this, i never knew you had a brick-focused channel
I had a few Alpha Team sets including the one in your video.... over 20 years ago... I didn't cry but i'd love to haha
thank you so much for brining in those memories!
downloading the PC game right now, hopefully it will work
Now this is the oddly specific content I‘m looking for. Great stuff.
Yay! new niche Lego RUclips content creator ‼️ can’t wait to see more vids and see you grow as a channel

For a launch video you did a phenomenal job!
The content I've ive been waiting for all year, unironically
this is the best video thats been made by ANYONE this year
Thank you for the quality content oboeshoesbricks ❤❤❤
Great video, old Lego sets are so cool.
bro I was just about to go look through your channel for some more videos and you're telling me this is your first?
Awesome video! Subscribed, can't wait to see more.
Very excited to see what this channel will become
Love this format, keep it up!

this is so good 💗
Damn, I can’t believe I’d never heard about the Ogel retcon sticker story before
Thanks Oboebot!
I loved this theme, Dash's helicopter is still my all time favourite set and has pride of place in my collection, although sadly a replacement.
What a way to come out of the gates! Great first video!
Before I even got to the comment section let alone the end of the video I was feeling heavy slugger vibes and was all here for it.

1:28 pizza? Is that the pizza sound effect from lego island 2? Did I actually recognise that correctly?
Oh dang!
Welcome back
Mission Deep Freeze was the Alpha Team Theme when I was growing up, I think it was the coolest of them all
Great video
The PC game with these guys was my jam back in the day
Man this unlocked some memories for me. I had a couple of the Deep Sea Alpha Team sets, specifically the evil whale with the arms set haha
Oh hey, I'm in this one
4 months later, and he truly is a genius
Wow man. What a slap of nostalgia. Totally forgot about this game. I had a similar experience. No idea what was going on but I played it quite a bit anyway.
I ate my feelings this week with pizza, ice cream, and soda and I gained 5 pounds. How are you doing Oboe?
I used to watch my sister play the PC game alot and actually kinda got into the lore, can't really remember the sets though. Damn i love this format using Lego pieces! I’ll also follow this second channel then!
Alpha Team Oboe was hilarious, perfect hat placement 🤣
I love early 2000's early 90's lego! THat's what I grew up with :) Good Times! Lots of variety!!!
I bought all the OG and Deep Sea Alpha Team minifigures off Bricklink piece by piece, and I got secondary bodies to do more modern reinterpreted versions of each character. Was my favorite theme at the time and I never got the sets beyond just one of the smaller ones.

need more of this
As a fellow Lego historian, I welcome you with open arms.
