It holds a certain resemblance....
@ paul Folkard
Cheers, I I had missed it! 😉
Would look good on a snubnose, but at the moment his forehead looks like a drive-in movie screen

Very cool
As far as I'm concerned Lalo should've won the Oscar for this Soundtrack!!!
What's worse is he wasn't even nominated.
LOL
Lalo was in to some heavy good yayo during the 70s. Ok?

that drum beat at 8:05 is sick, and then the bass kicks in is an eargasm
Yesss!!
Ridiculously SICK and then shortly thereafter comes some more bass and then guitar or whatever kicks in at 8:36 and pumps up even further at 8:40

John Guerin played drums on this.
Kick my drumm bum!?!?!?
I love the main title score and visuals as Harry is walking around the top of the skyscraper with the bay in the background. The drumming is awesome and then that bass comes in!
Lalo killed it with this score...the guy is a genius!
influenced me heavily - dark funk for life
Tell it!!!!
Give Lalo his due.
He created some of the best themes of the last 50 years.

Lalo Schifrin,
What a legend, first heard this when I was 10.
The effect hasn’t worn off yet!
Harry: When a naked man is chasing a woman through an alley with a butcher knife and a hard-on, I figure he isn't out collecting for the Red Cross.
Mayor: i think he's got a point.
RIP political correctness with ol' Harry :)
Frank: Yes. Well, when I see 5 weirdos dressed in togas stabbing a guy in the middle of the park in full view of 100 people, I shoot the bastards. That's my policy.
Mayor: That was a Shakespeare in the Park production of Julius Caesar, you moron! You killed 5 actors! Good ones!

Lalo is highly underrated.
"Underrated" LMAO. His soundtracks are legendary; as a composer he's generally regarded as a genius. You've either been asleep for decades or you are confused as to the meaning of the word "underrated."
This score still kicks ass today
Callahan: "And anybody can tell I didn't do that to him." Cheif: "How?" Callahan: "Cause he looks too d#%n good, that's how!"
best line ever!
The masochist: you sure you weren't followed?"
Scorpio::I'm sure

Even today, Andy Robinson still freaks me out...

Hell ya!
more effort went into the soundtrack of Dirty Harry than into the entirety of most films today! Lalo Schifrin is just amazing.
"This is a 44 magnum the most powerful handgun in the world. You've got to ask yourself one question. Do I feel lucky? Well do ya punk?"
I had a hang ten t-shirt that the dude was wearing...the seventies were the best...
The series is STILL my absolute favorite... Especially since my dad was SFPD from 1958 1984... He retired as an SFPD Inspector ( Night Investigations Unit )...
.....From Dirty Harry to Bullitt..... Starsky and Hutch.....
Lalo Schifrin found the perfect score for that particular movie or TV series...
Yeah & Bullit was released 3 years before Dirty Harry too. Both now rightly seen as classics in their own right & both set in San Francisco when it was still a groovy place to live in, work & visit. Quite a bit different today.
Oooooh
Yeah, Bullitt
That opening theme is toooooo much!!!
Bass line is killer with that smooth guitar lick.
Schif the Great!!
Yes, but first, Mission: Impossible, the best of the best TV series music theme, perfect.
Many great film composers out there, but Lalo Schifrin's DH score is amongst the very best. It made the movie fly...
Incredible genius. That art with the gun and the face
Love that late 60es, early 70es soundtrack style.
Absolute gold soundtrack. 🏆💯Suits the film to a T .
Film and music.Absolute milestones!
My favourite line : Scorpio " I have righiiittss".....
Even if Harry is dirty, this music sounds quite exciting and beautiful. A true masterpiece!
CLASSIC ABSOLUTE LEGEND SCHIFRIN👑👑👑THE MASTER MAESTRO
Lalo didn't lay low.
He let his brilliant light shine bright.
You're right, "T".
Nothing low about this soundtrack.
I would tape portions of the theme music from Dirty Harry on an old cassette tape recorder and listen to it because it mesmerized me. The theme at the closing of the credits starting at 16:52 is so haunting. A brilliant idea from the director Don Siegel to phase out Harry and his disgust with the system that caused "Scorpio" to remain on the streets with somber music. Lalo Schifrin is a legend. Thank you for this Soundtrack of the Mind.
Drumming for Scorpio scenes absolutely fantastic!!
I heard from somewhere that John Guerin was the drummer on these tracks. Would not be the least surprised if they is true.
Whoops - meant “if THAT is true.”
@@cnkinnick yes you are correct along with Larry Bunker aparanly they both played together on soundtrack but which one on Scorpio screens I could not say
I dig jazz themed soundtracks!
I dig it too!
That drummer is incredible.
Awesome film, and the soundtrack is amazing. Still holds good today.
Important film score in his cannon of great film scores for Mr. Schifrin. Powerful and stands alone away from the imagery which is pretty amazing in itself. 1971 San Francisco was a time and a place and this film captured it perfectly.

Lalo Schifrin compositeur mythique !
The transition at the beginning is fantastic.
Great Soundtracks from Lalo Schifrin !!!
I was surprised when I heard soundtrack from Enter the Dragon and Sudden Impact there's a long list of great soundtrack from Lalo Schifrin.
One of the best film scores ever, in my opinion. I have the soundtrack on CD. I have a rather love/hate relationship with jazz, but Lalo Schifrin is in a class by himself. The piece at 1:30 is some kind of special jazz in my book. It has so many ideas in it, amazing percussion and killer bass line.
It goes from jazz to bluesy funk pretty quick
Used to watch dusk-dawn Clint Eastwood films at a local drive-In theatre w/my buddies. This and The Outlaw Josey Wells were always my favorites!
👩🏼“Why do you stay?”
“I don’t know, I really don’t!”🕶
That's one of the bleakest scenes in cinema. I remember seeing it in the theatre and being chilled to the bone.
Brilliant thanks

"Now you know why they call me Dirty Harry. Every dirty job that comes along." Dirty Harry.
It’s no surprise that Schifrin was chosen to write this score as Eastwood has always been a huge jazz aficionado and can play standards and jazz chords I believe. The man knows how to produce a film and schifrin delivered the goods as always 👍😎

Coolest musical score ever…pure genius!!!
That 'squeaking gate' sound effect in Scorpio's Theme adds something to the flavour. Throw in the melancholy female vocals, rhythm and blues percussion, light orchestral score to produce a very creepy yet spot on. There was also a fair bit of jazz for which Clint Eastwood is a fan.
It’s got no good intent . Very sadistic lead up. 70s 😎
Water song - Aerosmith
The incoherent female voice and squeaking gate represented Scorpio's disturbing homicidal mindset with the increasing speed of the drumming, electric guitar, synthsizers, horns, and strings gradually driving his murderous impulses into insane speed. Brilliant Schifrin scoring for sinister "bad guy" music.
Great soundtrack! :-)
It’s a role the actor was born play. Clint a living icon and a mans man.
Absolutely brilliant! This and the Magnum Force sound track are masterpieces
Great! - Can' t get enough of this hammer films and soundtracks!
Ligne de "Bass" extraordinaire !
What genius!
Aww... I forgot how sad the end theme was. :(
Today's sound tracks are tomorrow's classical music. Lalo's are among the best.
Great combo of jazz and orchestra instruments with electronica in its earlier years.
I especially love this and "Bullitt."
Music like this gets me in the mood to work on my (so far) never-ending novel.
yes better than Miles Davis that's for sure!!!!
yep love this sad theme, "Dawn discovery"
@@deniskostic1502 Two completely different people.
When you listen to the music you do not think about personality of creator . I love Miles and in 60 s he also made some movie soundtruck. But I FIND FEW COMPOSERS WITH SAME OR EVEN BETTER POSSIBILLITIES.

Just don’t make films and soundtracks like this anymore 😕
YES
Yes, because culture changes.
And it's sad... makes me feel that i was born too late.
Because too many liberals in charge of making movies now.
The talent is out there, but studios have changed focus. Occasionally someone like Michael Giacchino comes along to help dispel the myth by demonstrating diversity. If studios got braver and made more original films instead of remakes and reimaginings we might hear more of it more.
The transition into the main theme, with the bass and piano drop is amazing at 1:29
There's no WORDS to explaind THIS MUSIC ❤️💓💕

Musical genius!
The screenplay was originally written for Frank Sinatra in the lead role. He turned it down because he was concerned about his public image and didn't want Brutal Cop on his résumé.
music full of psychedelia full of 70s love and peace and also haunting at times and scary too..... Close the lights close your eyes and enjoy the brilliance of his music...
