Same, that spot is much better as you can sit there in the open and spend all the time you need to take your shots and they never shoot back, plus you can hear any scavs coming up behind you as they have to open 2 doors to get to you there.
Easier and safer way is to use any nightvision device and shoot from inside of any tran cart - PMC's don't see at night from the other bank of the river. That's how I did this quest part in two night raids.

I tried your loot run on Shoreline near the car extract and there were PMCs, also they can spawn just under the mountain on Woods, to be more precisely in between the crashed plane and mountain stash.
If you have access to good NVGs or Thermals, night time is AWESOME for this quest! All the AI has a much harder time seeing you at night so you’ll have that much more wiggle room.
i just killed 3 of them there. they were running towards dorms. so if you cant find them at ruaf they are probably at dorms. 3 story, 1st and 2nd floor most likely, one might be camping the stairs in the middle aswell.
if you stand behind the red/white concrete barriers on the bridge to the left of where you are in that train car, the PMC's will not aggro on you at all. you can stand there all day.
I have done about 100 raids and I never seen pmcs spawn there.. I’ve died trying to do this task many times because I just sit here waiting for something to happen and I get lasered by scavs from crossroads.
Weird, I haven't had them aggro me from behind the railroad tracks. I haven't done shooter born yet, but generally when I spawn big red side I'll stop behind the tracks further down from where you are and just crouch or prone under the train and shoot. They haven't shot at me yet. I was running a P90 long barrel with an elcan the other day. (That thing is a laser beam mini sniper when setup that way) Unfortunately I only had L191 ammo for it. I shot the pmc, but his helmet bounced or ate the bullets 4 times. He just seemed confused and went prone facing me but never fired at me and my next shot penned finally. Maybe if you aggro them on the way over coming from the other side they're more aggressive or something. Or maybe I've just been really lucky.
needs some more checking but it seems like night time maps have slightly different pmc spawns. after struggling for 3 days i tried night time customs and finally done capturing outposts. same with factory office kills. or i just got hella lucky for 5 raids in a row
I did it from outside the shack just in front... I first tried from the inside, but the damned glass is like it's bulletproof... 1st shot breaks the glass and does no damage to them, they spot you right away and start beaming you.
I used the director's office for almost all of my bolt-action pmc kills + loot.
This. PMCs on ruaf simply ignore player there. Used that spot for setup (superformance ftw) as well.

Night in general is best to do basically anything in PVE I've found
I think the second floor of custom office is also a good position you can try, PMCs will not even shoot at you.
Just gotta be careful there had a stream of scavs sneaking in that top floor door. Like 5 came in over 5 minutes

I did it at night (22:00-04:00), from dome... There's PMCs in the Knights-Garage-Gas area... If you do it during the day they always spot you.

Maybe I am wrong, but sometimes I think I noticed that AI PMCs do not really spawn unless you come closer to that area where they usually spawn, no?

As of Patch 0.15, this spot seems to not work anymore. I've done several runs and I've never seen any PMCs spawn where they would previously.

I picked the other train couch nextdoor, but is a similar spot. Will wait other maps either :)

can you do guides on most quests since they are much more different than in pvp
