I’ve actually created my own version of the Macduck tartan. I plan on getting it woven, getting a Scrooge McDuck polo and wearing it all the next chance I get at Disneyland! It’s going to be glorious!
Margaret Morrison Sporrans, Perth, Scotland make bespoke full mask sporrans. Military grade, exceptional quality work that many ex highlander soldiers will attest to.
Head-on sporran. Best worn for a men’s night out, smoking cigars and drinking single malts. Other occasions optional. Thanks for another fun and informative video 👍🏻
As a footnote to this discussion, there can be another consideration for some in the wearing of a full mask sporran. I wouldn't consider wearing a Badger head swinging six by way of protocol. These were for senior ranks only in the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, whilst we wore the standard swinging six. So whilst nobody could stop me, I wouldn't wear one out of due deference.
As someone with animal loving children in her life... I can see said small wee humans either being absolutely terrified by a full mask sporran or uninhibitedly running up to it and wanting to pet/cuddle it as if it were a stuffed animal. So maybe... wear judiciously?
I just bought a fox full mask sporran without eyes. Possibly a nice touch to my great kilt. Saw another one with big goofy, out popping eyes. Looked messed up.
I feel like a full mask sporran could be really cool for uppity formal events, and I'd love to have one myself if they weren't so expensive, but I don't think I would wear it for more casual kilting. That's better suited to standard leather imo.
Don't own one but I do like the good quality ones. Another problem for me is even if the taxidermy is good the size of the sporran needs to be in a certain overall size range. Some look either too small or too large to look good. The same situation is when someone buys a real nice engraved cantle sporran but it's a children's size. Not a good look.
I've had one since 1987.... but not worn it much because I usually just wore a band uniform sporran. While I personally don't mind the look (musquash) and it was well made, it's just ... an odd look to see a dead animal worn as clothing for a lot of people. I pulled it out for the first time in decades this past fall and the carrying capacity is tiny. Can't take a wallet + phone at the same time.
The googly eyes thing stems from how the taxidermist is stuffing the animal. I would love to wear a fox sporran to an anti-hunting meeting just to troll them.
I refer to my head on sporran as my "emotional support badger".
Best episode yet!😆
Love the look of a full head sporran: badger and fox are my favourites

I would like to get a roadkill sporran! Isn’t there a lady in Scotland that makes them?

LOL, love the Badger jokes; I think that I will add a Fox to my collection this year.
What color of fur would you wear with the Burrelll family Tartan?

These can only be improved by the addition of Googly eyes
+USAKiltsOfficial *What significance would a wolverine have in a mask sporran? a beaver?*
I've watched this one a couple times before. Still old style corny humor. Can't decide if I like head on sporrans or not.
A skull sporran? Having a skull from a animal on the front of the sporran.
My keys, a minimalist wallet, my phone (iPhone 8) and my Swiss Army knife.
Ok 3 more cat skins found by side of the road become banjos not sporrans…. Why did PETA kill 40 + throw frozen to the side of the road?
Neither goofy nor good, but kinda gruesome. I understand where it came from, but nope.

@Stars and Stripes 406 Painting, LLC What are you taking about?
@Stars and Stripes 406 Painting, LLC Oh I see or maybe venison burgers and the sausages also made of venison?
Full mask sporrans are horrible.
