Fun fact, the band that made the random (but peak as fuck) songs in Westhelm stopped appearing because during one of their off-concert interactions-Their band leader dared Lingulini to shoot an arrow at him claiming that he could snap around fast enough to block it as long as everyone was quiet. Long story short, when Lingulini shot the arrow, it instantly killed him because he could not-in fact-snap around fast enough to block it.

the saps conflict actually has another layer to it:
in an interview done after with some of the main members they explained how this operation works, and 1 rule for making these videos is they dont allow repeats in main characters, or atleast if u were a prominent figure in one vid, ur not allowed to be a big deal in a vid until the one after the next.
in the video made before this one saparata had a fairly decent role in one of the nations, and so when the assassination happened and people believed he was behind it, people were actually mad at him irl because they thought he'd broken that rule and tried to be a main character 2 times in a row.
for instance shpood originally didnt want to interact with him, not shown in ludwig's cut, saps went to him once before and he just said basically nah get lost because he thought he was rule breaking and didnt want to interact.
so not only was his character in the world ostracized but outside he was fairly disliked during the world ongoing.
this also helps explain why people actually came around to believing him because they realised given the events happening and ish hadnt said anything to them about him breaking a rule, maybe it wasn't his choice that he was in the limelight again

@makem_uz the rule might be a recent addition, but for instance sultan was a fairly major role in the video before, he is also in this video but doesn’t play a sizeable part at all

The main reason this video is so good is because fluix is such a competent villain. Normally villains in stuff like this just do something stupid and get killed, but he perfectly pulled strings to carry out his agenda
He always had an escape plan for everything that happened to him. Crazy amount of forethought and skill
I think it’s not only that but also the reason he’s a villain. He had a goal that is completely reasonable and understandable, a hero might’ve even shared his goal to protect his people.
However it’s the intelligence that saved him so much that made him a villain. The close mindedness that had him think he knew everything, made him feel such a drive for his beliefs that made him think his path was the only way and all bloodshed was a necessary sacrifice. He’s not just some maniac who loves being evil, he thought he was righteous
That's the advantage of unscripted roleplay. Fluix did everything he could to remain both alive and true to his character. It also happens that the player portraying him was exceptionally smart.
That's just a part of it though. Ish and his team were amazing at compiling all the footage and editing the details into a compelling narrative
I highly recommend looking at the behind the scene vid Ish made because you can tell that so much love and care and attention was put into each fragment of the video

Yeah it is, it felt like so much longer, but that’s partially because the event socialization started weeks before the event, and the westhelm SMP went for months after
The builds were also just insane. The infernus castle was NUTS
@thegamingwubba something about knowing that westhelm kept on for a while makes this whole thing even better. like these players got to actually live in the society that they fought so hard to protect. this might be the greatest project ever made and im not joking.
@polychromevirus1not only did we, but the smp was open to any players of the event, as well as friends of players, as long as they were chill! It went for several seasons, we had a lot of fun.
I was in a group called the Molemen, I started as a freelance builder with no intention of joining the group, but i remodeled their underground base for them and eventually became a member. I did some streams / video uploads from the westhelm SMP here on youtube.
There were even some covenant members!
My best friend also got really close to a lot of wedthelmians, to the point that she was deemed an honorary westhelmian by most of the nation during the revisitation event, which was awesome.
ATP I’m just yapping, but I don’t think it’s been really publicly talked about. It was awesome, ran by Owo6, Dinosearth and a few others. It was basically a live service server too, with seasons and story arcs that evolved based on what the players did.

Fun Fact: If Wood daddy hadn't died, Cass wouldn't have attended his funeral. She would have went to the meeting of leaders and died. If she died, Island 2 wouldn't have been able to unite with Westhelm against Infernace. The good guys would have lost.
The real reason Cass didn't go to the meeting was because she had classes on that day, and therefore couldn't make it. Ish just made up a reason so it would fit the story

Knight Arcturus planned a revolution that literally no one in the nation would've wanted. His vibe reads were 100% off
@HoodieHorizon Thought about it deeper and to be fair, Westhelm would've probably given Saps back to the Commonwealth to get on their good side and Saps be executed if not for the sentiment that Commonwealths protection of Knight_Arcturus caused Schpood. In the end, his little failed revolution sparked a larger conflict that made a larger very important impact that saved Saps life and gave us better lore.
That's the fun thing about rp sometimes plot lines individuals try to cook up Just dont work out 😭. At least he made the video tho lol makes me wonder how many plot lines were just straight cut.

A little bit of info about the final battle:
1.barbieland and some other nations were neutral and just decided to help those who got injured with the blue cross.
2.the covenant killed like 100 people or more in the final battle.
3.fluixon and saps said they fought each other because they just wanted to aura farm in the final fight.
Theres lots of other videos going into even MORE detail about each of the groups and nations so maybe you could check it out!

I'm not afraid to say it. Saps being the only one in the entire world mourning Fluixon when he was the most affected by his terrorism got a tear off of me. He was his friend after all, and he respected that he did everything for what he believed in. That was just straight cinema what can I say.

I mean he was right for the most part but he was wrong in his assumption that they would be able to defeat island 2 despite their disadvantage, the idea of them putting aside their differences to unite against a common enemy for both of them (fluixion for the rich island and cynika for the poor island) is much more satisfying
Fun fact: ish's events have a no repeat rule, where if you were a prominent figure in a video, you can't intentionally try to be a prominent figure again for a couple of videos. And the funny part is that Saparata was one of those people. So not only did people not like him in-character for killing the leaders, they also didn't like him out-of-character for breaking the repeat rule by doing that. Fluixon, in Minecraft, succesfully framed Saps for breaking a real world rule.

@makem_uz Jophiel was technically a leader in the last event, but only replacing Saparata after his death.
iirc that happened pretty close to the event's end, so she ended up not doing much, which is probably why she was allowed to come back as the leader of Tricolor in the new video.
I think everyone else you mentioned were already participants in previous events, but they weren't influential enough (if at all) to warrant the repeat rule.
EDIT: Just remembered that AFreakingTurkey was a pretty influential player in the last event, not sure what's up with that. My guess would be that they let it slide since, in the new video, he was just the second in command of a small nation that tried (and mostly succeeded) to avoid world politics and the "main plot", just doing their own thing.
@td_nerd I can say as someone who was in both this video and the last for the civilization experiments, AFreakingTurkey didn't do much the second time around. I was actually part of Aculon and his role there was much bigger than what he played here.

The Canadian Cartel video is such a good companion piece to this video (spoilers if you haven't seen it ahead). The Infernus War is entirely from ground level in that video, and none of the cartel have any real understanding as to why they're even fighting there. Compared to the main video, which clearly outlines the war and why it happened as a glorious battle of good and evil, the war is this confusing, immense disaster that leaves most of the combatants dead, the survivors unable to tell which side of the conflict the dead belonged to. For a Minecraft video mostly about parodying Breaking Bad, it's a shockingly sober portrayal of war.

If The Covenant didnt kill the warden, they wont get the armor trim and trade with Flux, Turntapp wont meet with LegacyAN, Schlood wont have a good reason to attack Commonwealth, the whole Island 2-Westhelm union may not exist, Infernus might actually win
it also most def wasn't filler for the players since they said it took about the whole day to fight it, much less took many lives 💀

Disappointing that the netherite plotline was totally forgotten though. Nobody used it throughout. It could have given island 1 the edge over island 1 once the borders fell but i guess not
@Techmobladthey didn't really have diamonds so netherite didn't matter, they used it in the last war, and it wasn't alot of netherite, using it for tools or weapons was better than armor so you didn't really see it
@AcrylixrAs soon as the borders fell and they got diamonds they should have monopolised the netherite to finally have the advantage but i guess everyone just forgot. Or the whole thing's badly staged idk

Honestly I watched the Canadian Cartel first and then watched the original one and it hit so much harder with the ending.
I think my favorite thing about how Fluixon played his character was his response to being proven wrong when Island 1 didn't invade. Sure he was already an antagonist at that point, but instead of backing down, he just doubled down and became the very problem he was originally seeking to prevent. Just *chef kiss*

True. Wanna know another fun fact? Daybreak Media dug into that at the first days and found out the large majority of Anti-Island 2 propaganda came from a single person on the Covenant

honestly if you pay close attention there are SO many domino effect moments in this story
@borealis_3882 Some unmentioned nations had effects too. Starlyn was the nation who gave Cynikka her boots as a diplomatic gift, so maybe Linguini's point may have been less if they weren't there. A nation in the South, New Dawn, invited Saps into their island. You could almost call them a Southern Alliance. Speaking of the Salliance, it never would've formed if Aperion wasn't colonising the south (imperial Aperion not being mentioned is odd), mening if Aperion wasn't tryna get the Southern Island, it's possible New Dawn may have not accepted Saps, meaning he may enter Island 1 more early.
1:01:40 That tower is what I believe to be a reference to the previous civilization video, where Saps killed himself in a similar fashion to stop conflict between a desert warlord and his own nation of Theria.

She said that all the aggressive instigation with other Nations and Westhelm was actually Harvest, not her. She even admitted that in actuality, she was a passive leader.

I'm very curious how the reenactment works, do you have a copy of the world or something? Are the people reenacting actually the characters after the fact or is it like other people disguised? I'm sure it takes a lot of effort so kudos to you and the team!
@FertIx26 it’s a mixture of both. i believe that main characters were asked to reenact their own characters and scenes but actors were generally used for everyone else using a disguise mod
@Rachell.fis that why the dialogue sounds scripted in some parts? Like during Saps trial their tone doesn't sound like it's happening in real time, it sounds like they are re-enacting it after the fact.

Saps got the ending he deserved as Fluixon did, great hero and villain combo. Cynnika was needed for the plot, but her character was too unpredictable

It was pretty unpredictable because it's a character that only really exists in the video. Most of the instagating got done by the king of the nation who was actually a popular project zomboid youtuber but was cut out of the video so cynnika could get more spotlight. This left her playing a passive leader who got turned more villainous in the edit
@GalaxyIrish true, I actually appreciate her role in the whole plotline as explained in the video. Her being unpredictable is probably just a side effect of having to end the series somehow and she was probably the best choice to spark up conflict contextually.
@rhett3185cynnika wasnt evil…? There was someone who ruled beside her named harvest, who did all of the aggression towards other nations. She even confirms this in an interview.

Its actually crazy how much time the production of a video THIS good took, if you can believe it, the event was a YEAR ago. It took 2 weeks to finish, and production, narration, editing, graphics, assembling the story into a 2 hour video took the rest of the year before they were able to post this.

@bigboi4161not really, its more like a big improv scene. The reason why some people get in, in these types of video is because in there application they have to state what type of character they want to show and the the application team just needs to find the applications that are interesting or too funny to miss. The only scripted part of this video are the recreation scene where they all look like they are in unison. In the original recording some scene are just too chaotic or too cringe to show, but they do stick to the concept of that og recording when recreating the scene so it doesn't change the og recordings idea

This is in retrospect, but Island 1 WAS going to invade and Flux did in fact save his island, albeit indirectly

The character arc Lud had watching this was amazing. He started so pessimistic and was constantly surprised at every turn by the kindness of random people. And also got INVESTED towards the end. 10/10.

I'm telling everyone to check this out because it is insanely, impossibly well-wrought at every level. the re-enactments, the editing to the music, the authenticity of the minor and major characters even with the knowledge that they're aware they're playing a role, the mythic archetypes at play, the surprising-but-inevitable turns. Generational hero, generational villain, they have a *natural* relationship and backstory. It's... what a thing.
