  • Just a quick video for Redout 2 players using controllers on PC on the Steam platform.
The default controller bind for strafing and pitching is mapped to the right stick with a circle deadzone.
This causes your input axis for strafe and pitch to get halved when pressing diagonally on the stick. At high level play, this noticeably effects your capability to respond to situations requiring pitch and strafe inputs simultaneously.
    To address this:
    1. Right click on your game in your steam library.
    2. Navigate to: Manage / Controller layout
    3. Select your desired controller (Enable Steam Input if it isn't already enabled)
    4. Press "Edit Layout" and navigate to the joysticks tab
    5. Press the gear icon next to the Joystick dropdown menu (Right Joystick)
    6. Under the Deadzone section. Set the "Deadzone type" to "Custom"
    7. An option for "Deadzone shape" should appear. Change it to square.
By setting the deadzone to square, you get the full input range on your controller, making the ship more responsive for such situations.
Keyboard players won't face this issue, since keys will input 100% when pressed compared to controllers.
Thanks for tuning and I hope to see you on track going faster than ever before!
