I wish Pat Hingle had a bigger role in this movie. He was such a good friend and guide to Monty even though he appeared in a handful of scenes. And he genuinely wanted Brewster to inherit the 300 million and encouraged him to keep going. And as Brewster said "You're a real nice man".
He really did great in whatever roles he was given, Clint Eastwood put him in a couple of his movies like The Gauntlet & Sudden Impact he was great in those movies.
You still can, depending upon the college. Our local college is around $8k for an associates. Another college about 40 miles away, you can get a bachelors for about $20k ($28k if you stay in the dorms).
You could probably do it for 30k today for an undergrad. 2 years city college and transfer to a state college. Just the cost of school though, nothing else..
Mr. Roundfield made a very smart move giving Brewster the money. If he'd given it to the Lawyers, they would've have stole it all, but giving it to Monty, got Monty indebted to him, so if Roundfield is ever in a financial jam, he knows Brewster will gladly get him out....Very smart....Basic investment psychology. Always send the money where it can return to you 7 fold.

The Executor shows up at their very wedding and seals the deal of riches, happily ever after, etc._ So, you see, they really did a wonderful job keeping up the story with plays and finally this amazing movie, as cult-ly beloved as it may be.
I hate how the movie villainized Warren. He wasn't someone who was up to no good. He was just some innocent person like his fiance was, who, for some unexplained reason, was approached by those two lawyers and somehow talked into making Brewster fail by them. Granted, Warren may have been a jerk, but he didn't deserve that kind of treatment. The villains should've just remained those two lawyers.
The two shady lawyers were definitely the primary villains. Warren was their henchman. He almost made Monty fail by hiding the $20k because the lawyers told him if he did then Warren would be promoted to a partner (IIRC). So, not the primary antagonist but certainly not an innocent little angel either.
hair part is consistent, it's the shot that's flopped left to right - look at the angle of his tie where it meets his neck. they probably noticed in editing that they didn't respect the "180 degree rule" (google it, too long to explain here), and had the woman approaching him from the wrong side of the screen, so they had to mirror the shot otherwise it would make the man look like he was talking to thin air
