Thank you so much for visiting and including my piece in your video! Most of the building materials were repurposed. Some had been bough pre-pandemic for another construction project. I live about a mile from the installation and am an advocate for sustainable and ecologically sensative art making in the desert. I’d love to make something like this in Tacopa! Thanks again!
Oh wow. Awesome. Maybe one day I can visit some of your work.
I love this piece so much. It's magical. Thank you for this. I haven't been to WV in a few years, now I can't wait to go again.
Its nice. How come 9 points?❤
looks like only 8@@underthetornado
what is it for?
I grew up in Hawaii and can say you are correct on the lava types. In Australia it would be said that you and your sister did a "walk-about" which I enjoyed from the comfort of my home. You braved the elements for your subscribers!
She always does...some of the places she's hiked have scared the sh!! out of me 😂 Sarah is SO brave!
Attack of the Giant Red Ants , great filming location 🎥📽️
I love wonder valley. I live here six months of the year. The other six months is to hot so I live in the redwoods in northern cali.
The communist state.
@@sangeronimoband9018wrong. Crooked politicians have been in control for 80 years. There are million of conservatives trapped here.
@@sangeronimoband9018- Why pollute this comment section with political trash speak? It's no more communist than Texas...
lol yup some people call it KommieFornia @@sangeronimoband9018
@@sangeronimoband9018 I find there are a lot of non commies i.e. conservatives living under the gov-mint oppression of that state. I watch and sub to both Shango066 and Mike Zicopolous both of L.A. , and which neither is a Lefty extremist.
New vid on Friday at 10pm makes me so freaking happy 😘
Sarah Jane, you are a masterful story teller. And I'm probably not the first person to notice that. Wish I had the ability to speak so clearly and cognitively like you.
Supposedly the locals would occasionally haul a bunch of old tires up into the crater and set them on fire so the people on the passenger trains going by would think that it was an active volcano. The Amtrak Southwest Chief still passes by Amboy, but it does so in the middle of the night.
As a Marine at 29Palms I used to see that crater in the distance. We had many stories about it. Supposed to be a gateway to hell. All kinds of weird stuff. Pretty spooky late at night in the desert.
Semper Fi 72-76. My son, also a Marine was stationed at "the Stumps" 6 years ago before heading to Cherry Point.
I was a dependent at 29 palms in the late 90s… we drove across country on our way out to my dad’s next assignment and remember passing through Amboy and that crater. Rumor was back then it was a gathering area for local satanic cults etc. I remember that part as a kid. Whether it was true or not…I don’t know.
Yeah a geo. Portal
❤👍
@charli I'm inedallachie3539
The two sisters are in wonderful shape to have done that crater climb 🧗. Have to smile to see your sister’s expressions when Sarah spontaneously bursts into 🎶. Thanks for fun video. ❤
Two vids in one day. Way to go Wonderhussy!
I’m still in Joshua Tree watching your adventures. You are such an inspiration to me. Thank you.
I’ve never wanted to roll around in a parking lot wearing a Howard the Duck costume before but I guess there’s a first time for everything
Another great Wonderhussy adventure! Looking forward to the next one!
Mankind NEEDS art. And that little house truly does look like a respite....from the heat, from the wind.....and the sun. God bless the person who created that.
Always a pleasure to see that wonderful smile from the most beautiful talented hard-working producer on RUclips
Been to Amboy Crater many times. Fascinating place. Another cinder cone you should visit, if you can get to it as some company (Can-Cal Resources) owns it and thinks they are going to mine it for gold, is Pisgah Crater. As a geologist, I think that mining Pisgah for gold, or any metal for that matter rather interesting.... I did read the assay report. At the top, the lava lake collapsed and and the neck drained so quickly, it left a bit of a lava tube that you can climb down into. There is even a breeze of air that comes out of it. Also, just to the east of the cinder cone are several lava tubes that can be explored. One, I don't remember which as it has been 40 years, is around 1200 feet long.
That sounds amazing.
The Respite structure was the coolest man made thing I’ve seen lately. The volcano crater was cool too. Thanks Hussy!
That's a heck of a hike Sarah. good video. Hi to your sister
Not only *TWO* videos on Friday, but also a shoutout to the *THEREMIN* -- Thanks Sarah Jane!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
My wife and I met Sarah and her sister. Very nice young ladies. My wife is a new fan and subscriber. She’s impressed with their bravery in this dangerous world
It's not nearly as dangerous as they're making it out to be.
Sarah I wish you would please do a video on Graham Parsons And the Joshua Tree inn and cap rock. It's a crazy story and a true just love to hear you do a video tell the story about it you do such a good job‼🇺🇸😉
Wonderful, wonderful from Wonder Valley, from wonderhussy, yes how wonderful is that!
Love the way your sister knows not to wait for you. That AA lava looked very rough. Some nice look outs on that crater rim.,
I'd wear sensible gloves too. If you tripped and fell it's going to be bloody fingers.
A Saturday (here) video!!! 😮 Holy Gazookas 💙❤️!!!
Thnak you for taking us on the adventure to the Amboy Crater. It was fun seeing you both, you and sister, hiking the trails! It was interesting ing seeing the sights around. Weather looked great for your adventures. Looking forward to future adventures and fun! Best wishes and regards! 😀
the look your sister gives you when you start belting out "RESPECT"!!! too much!
Love the Respite Installation! Cheers
Love you Sarah!!❤❤
Let's ALL share these unearthly stories from the middle of nowhere! Wonderhussy is the Best Story-Teller on the Internet!!
Dang. That's a Doubleheader. Good job WOnderhussy. Thank you!
Woke up Saturday to a nice surprise. My favourite you tuber!! Three vids in one week. Just what I needed on a cold snowy day 👍🥰
You and your sister best buds. Love it. ❤
When I came to America from death valley it was my dream to have a comment on Wonderhussy’s channel that would get 100 thumbs up min Please don’t let my journey be in vane…
Come to Idaho and explore Craters of the Moon!
Thank you so much, Sarah, for all your adventures to places I’ll never get to. They are a small vacation every time you post. Keep ‘em coming. Love them all!
I like this channel, it is both educational and entertaining.
Ya gotta WONDER.
Nice to have a bonus feature. Love your work.
The art installation kinda reminds me of a Navajo Hogan
"The Suspense is Killing me... I Hope it Lasts!" LOL
Hi Sarah I don't know what it is but you're latest vids have been at a higher level. Well done. Lava you❤
You should check into a cell signal repeater for your drone!
Wow! That place got fancy since the last time I was there!
I'm pretty sure Wonderhussy could make a blank screen interesting and entertaining! ❤the Hussy!
you are queen of the world for the day
Love your channel . My parents and I in the Carolinas are going thru some tough times with both of them being ill and we watch your videos ever week. Reminds me of the last vacation we took together to Vegas and Pahrump. I normally go to Vegas 4 times a year and the next time I'll have to explore Death Valley for at least one day to see some of the incredible places in your videos. Thanks for all you do Ms. Sara Jane. You are very beautiful, interesting and intelligent 🤓 😉 have a great Spring
Looks like the 4 doors of the shack point to the 4 directions on a compass…you came in from the east door as the sun was setting through the west door
❤❤❤
Now and then the occasional loon has to be rescued form the desert. That's a funny statement in itself. Fun crater hike.
Journey to the Center of the Earth (1959) was not low budget. It starred James Mason, Pat Boone and Arlene Dahl. It was largely filmed in Carlsbad Caverns. I checked IMDB and they did not mention Amboy as a filming location, although they may have neglected to mention it.
Alright a twofer on this Friday!
Hey, Wonderhussy, the Amboy Crater was a lot of fun. We certainly don't have anything like that around here -- Reading PA.
Someone spent a tub of loot on that structure…..why? Glad to see a couple shots of Sis, I was beginning to think she was a figment of your colorful imagination!
I'd love to be in Wonder Valley 😉
Huell Houser was at the Crater . Another one off your H.H. Bucket List
Sound was great
Wonderful World 🌎 of Hussy!!
I would love to hear who did it...money was spent...not cheap.......I’m impressed.....thanks
Thank You For Documenting Our Wonderfull Wonder Valley .
The Amboy crater out in the desert with its awesome panoramic views SarahJane. Funny and unusual thing about certain birds who are legless on terra firma. The perfect match Wonderhussy in Wondervalley you can't get better then that.👊👌✌👍🙂😎
Amazing, I haven't been out there to the Crater since my days in the Corps. The Lava is spread out for miles around, we used to worry about our tiers getting damaged driving over that stuff, it was very sharp. There is an old crash site on the west side of the crater where a P-39 crashed during WW2. I'm Glade to see Sis out with you, I believe you two should try out for the Amazing Race or Survivor, my two favorite shows. My first time there at Amboy was in 77, my last time in 88, I had planned on going out there more often but life was very busy work and family. Love ya much, Old Kenny.
Semper Fi, 72-76. My son, also a Marine, was stationed at the Stumps 6 years ago before heading to Cherry Point.
thank you for you honorable service
@@kensmith2839 Semper Fidelis to you Sir, hope all is well and give your Son a shout out from an old Marine.
@@lisah7304 Thank you very much, I was glad to serve my fellow Americans. 😃
I just watched a day in the life of wonder hussy by Vic what a fun video nice interesting view of your life and work ♥️
Since discovering you, Wonderhussy, I have learned that one of the most interesting places on earth is... The middle of nowhere! BTW, Journey to the Center of the Earth had a budget of $79mil., which isn't bad for the '50s!
Peter Cushing I think.
I got stuck in the sand in good old Wonder Valley when WAZE told me to make a left onto a sandy road to get to a Panda Express in 29 Palms for an iced tea in the middle of summer and within 1/4 of a mile I was stuck in sand and it was well over 100 that day. I thought i was going to meet my maker!
That is A'a. Pāhoehoe looks ropey. usually...smooth and/or ropey and smooth.
The 'shack' is an octagon like a stop sign is.
Hey Sarah, just wanted to point out that just passed the road closure at Ludlow, is the old mining town called Ragtown.
That area is called The Buckeye Mining District. John Suter discovered The Baghdad Chase mine in the 1800’s. Benjamin Chase, the old owner built the Ludlow and Southern RR to haul ore to the Santa Fe RR.
There is a large marker out there, placed in 1981, to mark the spot,
Loved the video, not sure you’d want to drive that road anyway.
I split a fuel tank open driving out to Ragtown one year.
The lava fields were awesome. I loved that you showed us that, and I can't get out and about anymore so I really appreciated it
72 here yay another wonderful Wonderhussy episode So blustery! Wondersissy too😮
Wonderful video as always, and I love the tenet that WD adheres to "Never let the truth stand in the way of a good story"
Maybe it’s a LOVE SHACK BABY!
Or the psychedelic shack. That's where it's at.
The shot of the train and car way out in the distance was really great. You must have planned the time to be there to get that picture.
Yes, you are crazy, but you make crazy FUN. Thanks!
cool an awesome crater wonderhussy, keep those wheels rolling!
Wonder Valley would be ideal for rendezvous. Half way between us. We can get an abandoned fixer-upper and live happily ever after.
That is a pretty view up top
I'm guessing this is the video you had in the can when you recognized the magic of the equinox party. Wonderhussy checks out Wonder Valley. Anand visits a dry desert volcanic crater which is on a migration path for aquatic birds. You cover all the bases. I like the little contemporary kiva type building. Stay well as you camp.❤❤
Cool stuff. That building had to cost a fortune to build.
I just visited Ambon Crater last year after visiting DV & Mojave. WH followed the same path thru the crater I did…kind of tickled me. I didn’t see any floundering birds or egrets in the parking lot…lol
🤠& Yes enchantment is very important in life 😊
So dang knowledgeable ❤ I enjoy your stories
That sign is amazing. I really thought it said Wonderhussy at first. 😂
What a fabulous place. Your description of the end of the world made me laugh out loud. Thank you for that.
When I saw your vid on Amboy I was rather deflated that you didn't go to Amboy Crater. Glad you went there. Be healthy, stay safe and many blessings, Morgan
I love your shows, and I think you are gorgeous. God bless you.
I don’t know what I’m supposed to reply to, I’m not very good online
Take a cold shower, Bob😬
Bob probably likes 3 Peni 🤷♂️
A MAGNIFICENT VIDEO. YOUR BEAUTIFUL SISTER IS HIDING AGAIN, TOO BAD.
Howdy, Sarah! I hope you are having a great weekend.
If you see one of those grebes rolling around in the sand, and they look all pooped out, pick them up and put them on top of one of those shaded tables so they can rest a while before they fly away. If they look like they've haven't moved for a while and just sitting there resting, try giving them a boost up in the air in a lateral direction, into the wind, so they can continue to fly on to a more desirable place.
I Love The "Wonder" Of It All
Thank You Wonderhussy💖
Wow what an amazing coincidence that a crater named Amboy chose to erupt so close to a town by the same name.
Sarah
In a sea of doom and negativity, on RUclips, your vlogs stand out as a beacon of positivity, an island of fun and a river of hope.
Don’t ever stop doing what you do (but do stop wearing flip flops where rattlers live!)
Love and best wishes to you and your sister..
hoyhoy! (Never knew about the smooth lava thing).
I have always been fascinated how vegetation grows up through the dried hardened lava fields. Maybe not there but in Hawaii it sure does
I was on that exercise when that Marine was left behind. The exercise was in 29 Palms.
Journey To The Center Of The Earth was filmed there!....One of my all time fave movies....The movie with Pat Boone and Gertrude the Goose...who met an untimely death in the movie.....Great video Wonderhussy!!
The grebes and loons get stuck on carparks (and on airport tarmacs!) because the expanse of asphalt looks like a water body. So they come in to land, discover it's land, not water, and are stuck. There's probably someone in Amboy who's a wildlife carer and will come out to rescue any stranded birds.
It is the Wonder Shack in Wonder Valley ❤
Dang! Wondersis didn't even say, hi. That would be so cool 😎 to walk around in a crater. Dormant crater.😊
You are quite a storyteller Sarah. Two thumbs up.
So fun to watch your videos even though I don't like the desert that much you make it interesting.
Nice to see that cause you are so famous that they named an area for you
Wow, another great video. Safe travels.
Ugh, how did I miss Wonderhussy in my hoke town 😩
"Unfortunately, there must be two sets of rails" - The engineers may have some specially chosen words to say to you WH 😁
