Well done Richy. I actually discovered Erik when he did the "Jesus Christ Superstar Live" on American TV with John Legend, Alice Cooper and a slew of other talent. Erik popped out to me and I was like.."Who the f%#$ is this kid??? Years later i stumbled across his RUclips channel and saw he was with Skid Row for a few shows...and as life would have it..they were doing an upcoming show in my area ...I bought tickets the MOMENT they went on sale online..and I got 5th row... and I went.... and it was GREAT. I have seen Skid Row well over 20 times in my life... and I agree... this is a rebirth ....as well as a new and original Skid row that does not need to be compared to the Bach era.

People were saying he's only joking, but he did say it and that's the only time he said anything. It would be on the full show 11-2-22.
He also complaint indirectly on twitter about the canceled Skid Row tour in australia and japan, that this would never happen in the old days etc. Then right after he posted that he wants to go to australia and play. He is such a child..
@@shellybean9 Oh, thanks for correcting me on that one. Maybe I haven't been as ambitious in my later years in finding out information as deeply as I would like to. Great documentary! They were fantastic as opening act for Kiss in the big arena and even better on the own show with more new songs. As a big H.E.A.T fan I knew Erik and he is perfect for the band. No doubt, Bach was great on the first two tours but then he lost a lot of his voice. Glad I have seen them back then 4 times. Now they have the same quality again. I wish Erik will stay healthy. And I hope they will bring back Ghost to the setlist. They did it a couple of times here and the fans love the song.
Baz is and was Skid Row. Even if he came back, they wouldn't be huge again but since there's many fans that weren't around to see them 30 plus years ago in their prime,a reunited Skid Row would do well as an opener for tours like the Motley Crue stadium shows.

I saw Skid Row a couple months ago and Erik really brings a ton of energy. He can sing a ton of different styles--basically able to add in blues or jazz inflections to the big notes. The crowd was still mainly 40+ with some younger people blended in, I suspect it's parents bringing their kids and some 20-somethings rediscovering them. The tour still focuses mostly on 2000-3000-seat venues, it appears, so I don't know if they'll jump to stadium shows for a while. The easiest transition would be to model after Def Leopard and tour with a slate of similar bands so they can show off this new look/sound. (I think it would win over a lot of people, just like Def Leopard has.) Reunion with Sebastian? I don't see it. An interview revealed that they were texting a few years back, but even that much was tense. Sebastian's voice, while still good, isn't quite where it was once. This Skid Row is ready to recapture a new audience. Kindly to him (and I am a big fan) Sebastian would need to do some work on his range and ability to sustain notes to be able to make a duet work. He's still got the energy. So, maybe, one day.
Erik is the best rock metal singer, his voice is so beautiful and his performance is so amazing i just love everything about him and he’s great with Skid Row ❤🤘🎤🔥
Saw them in Tucson for the 2nd time in just over a year last Saturday, and you are right, Erik is an icon in the making. As a product from the 80’s/90’s and having seen so many great bands fall apart, seeing what Erik has done is nothing short of spectacular ! It will be interesting to watch just how far Skid Row can climb again in this age of metal bands of that era becoming ever so popular again. We saw them in a venue that holds 1,200 people. Wouldn’t be surprised if next time they are in a 5,000+ venue …
Awesome! A lot of great bands have amazing singers now. I saw great white play in palmetto florida and it was a free show. I thought it was gonna be small but a ton of people were their. Their new singer brett carlislle came out and blew me away. He is just as good as jack. Their is video from the show and you should react. Both these amazing bands are back. This doc is just so amazing! Would love to see more docs!
i agree, we dont need a fake reunion, Erik is a great choice, but I hope we can see both ERik and Sebastian on the same stage just having FUN, just for fans
Erik is great and I wish nothing but the best for him and the band, but nothing will ever compare to Skid Row ala 89-92, but for some reason the band has gained in popularity as of late, sometimes the stars just align, it's a mystery.
man whats funny is i thought i could only sing like grunge music for years but now i hear all these guys live with the internet in there prime and shit i can singe as good or better then they did back then dam
well, sebastian's live set is basically all the classic Skid Row songs, so the 2 sharing the bill together wouldn't work unless he did his solo stuff (which is killer) but he relies on the SR catalog
Great documentary dude. Erik Gronwall is no doubt the right frontman for Skid Row. You're right, the new record is awesome... all killer, no filler. October's Song especially should be huge. People tend to overlook that Erik is ten years older than Sebastian was in his prime during the Slave-era, and yet Eric sings the classic tunes better live now than Sebastian did then. Baz was once one of the greats, but his voice is now gone, which is why I don't think Sebastian would ever co-headline with Erik fronting Skid Row.
I first saw SR in 1989, and ive seen them 14 times in the UK, THE hardest touring band I can think of, and I find this deeply unforgiving to Jonny Solinger (RIP) who fronted the band for 16 years. No singer will front this band longer than Solinger did.
@@RichyKearnsproductions its the albums the whole band did. You'll know Bolan and Sabo write em, or almost all anyway, I doubt Solinger will have got much influence in there. He hit the notes. Dont get me wrong, its evident they are very reenergised (how good is that tech stand-in too!), just Solinger cannot be put in same bracket as Theart, or the other bloke who was a non-starter.
I was sold pretty much on the opening single, I believe it was the title track for the album. And that album was one of my favorites to come out last year. That first single actually got me to go listen to the Johnny albums/eps and honestly I found a few songs I enjoy. They were still bad albums, but I'm glad I went back to listen to them. Erik is a great replacement. He'll never top Seb's work, but that's ok. He doesn't have to. He brings a presense that Johnny lacked and the songs felt like modern Skid Row instead of whatever they were doing on those previous albums.
Erik is an amazing singer I’ve heard a few songs from the new album I can definatly say he’s bought a new life to skid row I mean Sebastian will always be THE ultimate skid row singer and the one everyone associated with classic skid row and you can’t blame people for wanting an original reunion but the way things ended originaly wasn’t exactly great so obviously as time goes on it’s obvious we won’t get a reunion
"The Gang's All Here" art work is probably is the way it is as like the first (self-titled) album was very much the same of just the band, maybe the next few albums with Eric will maybe have some different artwork. Either way ...I'll take this version of Skid Row (good artwork on the albums or not) over what we lost after the Subhuman Race era. Great video all the same. Cheers!
The image Skid Row had in the 1980s and early 1990s was true in the sense that people wanted to emulate the style. I wanted my hair to be like Rachel Bolan's in 1989. I was a fan of their heyday and anything they pretty much they did with Seb Bach. Sadly, my hair didn't look like RB, but closer to Rob Affuso and Jason Newstead. I had it all chopped in July 2013 at a little over 35 and a half and have since re-grown it in the past - nearing 3 years. I'm more suited to the Jim Morrison look ironically.
@@RichyKearnsproductions Well the hair is longer than Jim Morrison's now but it is definitely an option if it doesn't wear well on me at a little over 45 and a half. Some people don't look as good with long hair past a certain age and I'd hate to look a complete state! HAHA! I'd imagine rock stars have their hair done by top professionals and pay bucket loads to get the look to perfection. People say image isn't everything and I do agree, but it is definitely an added bonus and I was drawn to the image just as much when I was younger. I also wore the rock image with my heart on a sleeve in my 20s and early 30s particularly.
New singer is talented but this band goes out of their way to make people think that Sebastian is still in the band. Look at their last album cover, backs turned so people wouldn't see Sab isn't there and they called the album "The Gang's All Here" ha ha. To most people that would mean Sab is in the band. What can they do, their famous Rockstar singer who is the main reason they were successful is not there anymore, they have to pretend ever so much that he is.
I was with you until the end when you started talking the nonsense about hoping they do a show with Sebastian. That ship sailed a long time ago and thank god it did. Sebastian can’t sing anymore and Erik is every bit as good without all the drama
I agree completely. He had me till that ridiculousness at the end. You're right Bach can't sing anymore unfortunately and his new singles are all studio magic and auto tune sadly,
Saw them 2 times live, opening for KISS. last couple of weeks, Both times they rocked a big arena. As a 54 yo rockfan I can assure you that they ARE BACK!
@@charles-mp9nt No, Bach said the band said that, only Bach. The band has said in numerous interviews that they never said that. They had no problem opening for KISS seeing as how they did just that four years later. They just didn't want to tour with Bach anymore and him booking that KISS gig without talking to them first was just about the last straw. The last straw was Bach leaving a profanity laden message on Snake's answering machine while his whole family was over for a get together. They wanted to fire Bach before Subhuman Race, but couldn't because they had a three record contract to fulfill.
Never liked hair metal. But, Skid Row is not a hair metal band. Even though they have been lumped into this category. I fuckin' love Skid Row. They are up there with Sabbath, Zeppelin, Kiss, Savatage, Cooper, Priest, etc. Would love to see Baz back, but will never happen. He is a little toxic apparently. Slave is my fav album from them but, love 'em all. All the best to the band. SKID ROW!!!!!!
I have watched him from his first auditions and he is really good with a great voice but i still feel he tries to much to be like Sebastian and he isnt Sebastian if he would work on developing his own identity he would be truly great
I actually have a script written but i think i have to wait and see what happens next with the band since they haven’t gotten a permanent singer just yet
@yuthgonwild true.... waiting....like the new stuff, but Sebastian Bach is the reason why I loved them to keep the interest up. I hope to see Eric ASAP.
Bach was the best singer of Skid Row but who wrote the songs Snake and Bolan Bach got an ego problem and that's why they don't want him back they are happier playing smaller gigs and hats off for Skid Row for putting music and enjoyment before money
Another Irish dude here Richy🤘🇮🇪. I saw them for the very first time (was a fan in the 90’s) about a week and a half ago in Cartagena, Spain at ‘Rock Imperium’. They were great. They had their work cut out for them as they were the very last band on the bill at a 3 day festival, didn’t take to the stage until 12.40am (it’s a Spanish thing 🤷♂️) and had to follow Headliners ‘Kiss’. So you could say they had to dig deep for this one. I’d guess maybe 10k people stayed out of the estimated 40k/50k which is good imo for that ungodly hour of a Monday morning gig. Many had indeed to get up for work that day etc. So the odds were stacked against them. But it was a great success. Yeah we were all absolutely f#€ked and they knew it but we loved it and they gave it their all. Hopefully they’ll be back next year at a better time. They’d be perfect on just before the Headliners imo. Fingers crossed 🤞🤘
Move like Bach? Bach stomps around the stage and whips his hair, Bach pumps his fists and does that weird little finger wiggle like he's tickling something, Erik doesn't do any of that. So how is he acting and moving like Bach. Erik jumps around, runs around, and Erik sometimes goes into the crowd and interacts with the audience, but all of that is nothing like Bach. Js They move nothing alike, but Erik is Erik and has his own style.
This is good, but The part about how it was their "look" that got them over.. that's not true, there were plenty of "pretty boy" bands everywhere for that. What put Skid Row on top for those couple of years wasn't the look, it was the attitude. Girls sure they went for the ballads and the look, but what made Skid Row big was their attitude, especially in the live shows. This is during a time where stage moves were all choreographed (go back and look at Poison and Warrant , not knocking them, but that's what they did) and they played for the girls. Skid Row wanted the fans to tear down the building every night. The crowds at their shows were hard rock fans, the girls but you'd get hard core METAL fans there too, which is why they brought Pantera on board as their opening band on the Slave tour. They wanted to blur those lines of fandom and they did. That being said Bachs ego was just to much, I remember Rachel saying there were times where Bach would get arrested after a show and the the legal fee's cost more than what they made playing the show. Bach just couldn't help himself he was one of those personalities that just though bad attention, is still attention, but it was dragging the band down, they had to let him go, personally being a huge fan back then, I was surprised it took as long as it did. He was out of control for years. But.I'm also a big fan of Eriks, saw him on Idol, which of course got me into H.E.A..T. (Tearing the walls down is an outstanding album).. and he is the best for Skid Row in this era. Hands down.
I have also known of Erik since the H.E.A.T. Address The Nation Album which is cool ! And Tearing Down The Walls is absolutely epic ! As you aforementioned ! I am stoked to see Skid Row and Buckcherry in the fall ! I have seen Bach a couple of times live in small clubs ( Always front row) I shall try and do the same when seeing Skid Row for the first time !
Loved heat when Erik sang with them and now that he's gone don't care for them. He has an unreal voice which is what I loved about heat, but Skid row is not skid row without Sebastian. They all need to get over their differences and give the fans what they want. No Sebastian, no Skid row. My personal preference.

Greeeeeat video! Thanks! Saw them at Sweden Rock Festival this year, but had already dialed in on the rebirth with “The Gangs All Here”!
Well done!!! Realy worth the wait, this documentary is great! I get goose bumps! Love both Skidrow and Erik Grönwall 🤘🏻👊🏻
thanks so much im glad you enjoyed it
Cool video! This is Skid Row 2.0 and they are crushing it! Erik is the future
Fantastic work here. Cheers.
Jesus Christ, this was a good video. I wanted to stand and clap at the end. Lol. Great feel-good video! I needed that. Cheers!
Thank you so much man im glad you enjoyed it .This really means alot to me
Saw them in Tucson for the 2nd time in just over a year last Saturday, and you are right, Erik is an icon in the making.
Great job, that was fun to watch!
Watching this brought up those same emotions. You nailed exactly how I felt, and feel now.
Thank you im glad you enjoyed it and got the sentiment i was trying to convey
I love there version of Little Wing on the album Besides Ourselves.
Well done fking video my friend. I really hope the band sees this too!👍🏻
i agree, we dont need a fake reunion, Erik is a great choice, but I hope we can see both ERik and Sebastian on the same stage just having FUN, just for fans
If Helloween can make it work with new and original vocalists, then Skid row could follow that blue print, it would make so many people happy.
OMG I had no idea Erik battled his way back from leukemia. I had no clue. Keep rockin dude you did it and you’re doing it.
Amazing job. You covered it all. If your ever in need of Photo's from the tour to add in hit me up.
Love your passion so much Richy!
Thank you :)
Nobody will ever sing them songs better than Bach
spot on. The new record is thier best since Bas was in the band
There is no Skid Row without Bach.
I first saw SR in 1989, and ive seen them 14 times in the UK, THE hardest touring band I can think of, and I find this deeply unforgiving to Jonny Solinger (RIP) who fronted the band for 16 years. No singer will front this band longer than Solinger did.
Im sorry i let you down man i have my opinions on the albums he done but yeah to his credit he slugged it out with the boys and did his best
6:19 he is wearing The Under Dog shirt. A bar in Peterborough Ontario in the basement at the Legendary Red Dog.
BACH is Skid Row, this kid is like a decent 80s cover band singer, he isn't BACH, not even close.
Great vid !! Erik totally Rocks!!! Long Live that Skid's!!!!!🎸🤘❤️
There best album was "Slave to the Grind"
Erik is an amazing singer I’ve heard a few songs from the new album I can definatly say he’s bought a new life to skid row I mean Sebastian will always be THE ultimate skid row singer and the one everyone associated with classic skid row and you can’t blame people for wanting an original reunion but the way things ended originaly wasn’t exactly great so obviously as time goes on it’s obvious we won’t get a reunion
Saw them in Koln last week, absoluty fenomenal. Your documentary is too (except for the last minute, BAD idea)
Cheers!
Erik is great, good luck for the Band, but Sebastian as a frontmen of the Band was amazing!
I'm more suited to the Jim Morrison look ironically.
getting your hair to emulate those guys is hard done but hey jim morrisons hair was cool and if thats what you got going on awesome
Yep they are on their 3rd singer.
I gave THICKSKIN and all others a chance. And NO! This YES!
I was with you until the end when you started talking the nonsense about hoping they do a show with Sebastian. That ship sailed a long time ago and thank god it did. Sebastian can’t sing anymore and Erik is every bit as good without all the drama
AGREEEEEEE!!!
New video of Bach is top notch.
I agree completely. He had me till that ridiculousness at the end. You're right Bach can't sing anymore unfortunately and his new singles are all studio magic and auto tune sadly,
❤❤❤
Saw them 2 times live, opening for KISS. last couple of weeks, Both times they rocked a big arena. As a 54 yo rockfan I can assure you that they ARE BACK!
Funny thing is Bach got fired for booking them to open for kiss they said they were better than an opening act
The issue here is that we are still waiting for the new classic? Where is it?
👏👏👏👏👏
The New Skid Row is awesome, great sound and songs. It's good to see them doing well
Skid ROw is SBach
Never liked hair metal. But, Skid Row is not a hair metal band. Even though they have been lumped into this category. I fuckin' love Skid Row. They are up there with Sabbath, Zeppelin, Kiss, Savatage, Cooper, Priest, etc. Would love to see Baz back, but will never happen. He is a little toxic apparently. Slave is my fav album from them but, love 'em all. All the best to the band. SKID ROW!!!!!!
Bollocks no Bach no skid row!
I've seen them open up for KISS in Amsterdam, and on Graspop, what an energy/vibe/musician and show great step forward
I have watched him from his first auditions and he is really good with a great voice but i still feel he tries to much to be like Sebastian and he isnt Sebastian if he would work on developing his own identity he would be truly great
It's not a rebirth, skid row died when Sebastián was no longer the singer. He will always be the voice of skid row.
SO bassically you want the Helloween setup for Skid Rowew lol
Literally yes wouldn’t it be amazing
Will you make a new documentary now that Erik is now gone?
I actually have a script written but i think i have to wait and see what happens next with the band since they haven’t gotten a permanent singer just yet
I loved Solinger but I admit Erik is "the guy" ✌️
dude please. you know rock like a teen knows long term investing.
ouch im gonna need some cream for that burn you just gave me
Yeah every other youtube vid is narrated by a guy in his early 20s who only knows the subject matter cause of wikipedia
@@Funz2022 they think machine guts kelly has talent.!!
Erik Grönwall is King!
agreed
erik RUUUUUUUULES !(don't get me wrong --> i also love sebastian)
New guy has the vocals for sure and I love the new album. But he has zero state presence compared to Bas.
No Bach..no SKID ROW…PERIOD
@yuthgonwild true.... waiting....like the new stuff, but Sebastian Bach is the reason why I loved them to keep the interest up. I hope to see Eric ASAP.
Bach was the best singer of Skid Row but who wrote the songs Snake and Bolan Bach got an ego problem and that's why they don't want him back they are happier playing smaller gigs and hats off for Skid Row for putting music and enjoyment before money
Yeah right.
Erik Gronwall is the man !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Where is Snake in the show you went to?
He was sick he had covid
Erik is good..glad they pulling it off...but je should stop trying to act and move like Bach
Exactly it's a bit cringey
Move like Bach? Bach stomps around the stage and whips his hair, Bach pumps his fists and does that weird little finger wiggle like he's tickling something, Erik doesn't do any of that. So how is he acting and moving like Bach. Erik jumps around, runs around, and Erik sometimes goes into the crowd and interacts with the audience, but all of that is nothing like Bach. Js They move nothing alike, but Erik is Erik and has his own style.
Erik and Sebastian both born on April 3rd
Erik's birthday though is Dec. 3rd.
I have seen Bach a couple of times live in small clubs ( Always front row)
I shall try and do the same when seeing Skid Row for the first time !
Loved heat when Erik sang with them and now that he's gone don't care for them. He has an unreal voice which is what I loved about heat, but Skid row is not skid row without Sebastian. They all need to get over their differences and give the fans what they want. No Sebastian, no Skid row. My personal preference.
Would be better if he wasnt trying to copy Sebastian and develop his own style
I'm sorry Erik is great. But it's not Skid Row
